I've shopped Stone Mountain Pecan for over fifty years and never been disappointed. In fact, I don't shop for pecans any where else.

This is a cute little store that carries both shelled and unshelled nuts. Plus a few other things like honey and maple syrup. It's a little place on the side of the road located on Highway 78 in Monroe, Georgia. Service is friendly and the pecan halves are enormous and fresh. They're priced well enough for you to pick up two bags to make 'Sugared Pecans'. They are a tradition in this house every year at Christmas time. It's a special hand made gift from your kitchen to the candied pecan lovers in your family, or special friends, teachers, or pastors. Recipe for Sugared Pecans: Ingredients-- 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, melted 3 large egg whites 1 cup white sugar 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 4 cups pecan halves Directions-- Preheat the oven to 350° F. Line a large baking sheet with sides with aluminum foil. Pour the butter onto the lined sheet. In a large bowl, mix the egg whites, sugar and cinnamon. Add the pecan halves and toss until they are fully coated. Spread the pecans onto the baking sheet. Bake for 30 minutes, stirring the pecans every 10 minutes. Cool on the baking sheet for 10 to 15 minutes before serving. Present as gifts in a pretty airtight glass decorative container, Weck jar, or some cute tin with a splash of holiday spirit. Store in the refrigerator for best freshness. Using twine, tie a homemade card stating the recipe around the lid of the jar. Use pinking shears to make the edges of the card pop with interest or use other festive touches. read more

This place was wonderful. The staff and customers were all super friendly. It was a fun shopping experience. There was so much to choose from. There is a large variety of items. I was impressed by the number of sugar free products that they carry. The fruitcake was good. I went in for just pecans but felt like a kid in a candy store. 35 dollars later we left. The bathrooms were very clean. I felt it was worth every penny we spent , it was all good, I just smile when I think of the friendly atmosphere. It's in Monroe next to Between Georgia. read more

What a wonderful store! It as a welcoming environment with fresh nuts and so much more. Dried fruits, tons of sugar free options, hot sauces and old fashioned candies. I enjoyed my trip here. Lots of goodies to choose from. I was here back in April for the first time and my husband and I picked up a few things. We bought some gummy bears, cinnamon sugar pecans, and two bags of pecan coffee. The staff was friendly and the young lady behind the register was very knowledgeable about all of the products they carry and I loved the back story. Went yesterday. Seems like everything is brought in from other places. Packaged to look like it's fresh from the back. It's not. We bought chocolate covered toffee and ginger bites. The toffee was bad. You could smell it as soon as you opened it. Took a bite of one and spit it out. It was awful. The toffee had a cloudy consistency. It was obviously old. I took it back this morning and the manager sat there and argued with me. Said they just received it in and it was fresh. I told her I've been buying the exact same thing for over 15 years. She told me she has been there for over 50 and it smells fine. It was gross. I'll never eat toffee again. I just wanted to exchange it for something else but she rudely told me they would refund my money. Pecans are in small bags that are not processed there. Product quality, and customer service, are severely lacking now. Sad, and I'll never go back. read more

I have been wanting to stop here for some time but it is usually closed by the time I get by after work. But I finally made it in there and it smelled delicious and the pecan products I purchased were also delicious. I'll need to stop in again and get more of the pecan coffee and roasted salted pecans! I wanted to find a gift with a Georgia theme and decided to drive all the way out to Monroe to check out the Georgia pecans at this store. The store has about five aisles with bags and packages of various types of nuts, dried fruit, and candies. I also saw a couple of pecan pies. (These were actually the best thing I saw there, since they looked like they had a lot of pecans and not so much syrup.) The pecans were actually a small percentage of the total merchandise, maybe about 25%. The pecan varieties were natural, roasted and salted, glazed, and I saw one with cayenne pepper. Most of the items are in small plastic containers. They have a few gift tins as well. The gift tins didn't quite meet my needs. Most were fairly large, with just one type of pecan. The tins with a mixture of products for the most part had candy items mixed in, which I didn't want. They had one gift box with three smaller tins in it. I asked if they sold those smaller tins individually, so I could pick and choose a few different types to mix and match, but they said they don't do that. I wanted to get some natural pecans but they didn't sell them in any type of packaging that was suitable for a gift. The service in the store was not too helpful. I would pass on this store next time. It's not worth the long drive from the city. read more

They have such a selection - everything from nuts by themselves, nuts in chocolate, dried fruits by themselves, dried fruits in chocolate, and just about everything else in between. If you have never tasted fresh pecans, this is the place to go. I am a Georgia native and grew up with producing pecan trees. There is no comparison to the dark bitter pecans you get in most grocery stores. Stone Mountain Pecan buys locally and stores the nuts properly so they stay fresh. Most of their products are made with these nuts. For your info when "new crop" is referred to - pecan trees in the south produce nuts in the Fall. I purchase numerous bags in November each year for Holiday baking. I have found that If stored properly pecans will taste fresh for over a year. Before you go, place an order ahead for one of their pecan pies to be ready for you to pick up and prepare for a treat. They also carry local raw honey at a reasonable price for 32 oz. Local raw honey is the best allergy medication out there if you consistently consume one or two tablespoons daily. read more

I bought these Pecans inIndiana, they were the best Tasting Pecans I have ever ate. They were sweet, and not bitter like the long narrow darker pecans that most all stores carry. Stone Mountain from Monroe GA. has the best Pecans that I know of. I search for them in my area spacifically, it is hard to find them, but worth it. Bought a bag of pecan halves in Piggly Wiggly (Baker, Louisiana) yesterday - these are the most delicious pecans I have eaten in years. They are fresh and moist - now, that I have found a pecan that is not dark and bitter, I can use my recipes that require pecans. read more

For many years, we have made an annual trip to the Stone Mountain pecan company to purchase this year's crop. We once bought just a few bags but for the last few years, we have purchased a few cases to give as gifts. For the last two years, we have found that the pecans are not this year's crop but rather, nuts that have been harvested years earlier. They were not any better that the two-three year old nuts found in the grocery store. I just want everybody to know that maybe the loose nuts are great but DO NOT buy them by the case. I thought maybe a 3rd visit might be a good experience. Absolutely wrong. The first two times I visited their store no one speaks to you. No greeting. Just ignored. Layout of the store is difficult to find product. After several minutes search, no one asked to help. Two employees in the store. Both appear too busy merchandising and stocking to notice a customer. Today's visit and my last there were three 'employees' talking behind counter one actually acknowledge my presence and said 'hello'. I found my items but had a question. By then one employee had left and other two were deep into some personal conversation with a 'customer'. I waited my turn but neither employee acknowledge me. I waited for the conversation to finish but it went on. I return the items to the shelf and they stopped talking. As I left one said 'can I help you'? I assured her it was alright and left. Not a very people friendly store. Great selection of product but no promotion or any incentive pricing. Appears to be a wholesale operation that figures to have a store front. As many times I drive by and see the parking lot empty and 'banker' type hours 8-430 tells me they are not looking for much retain traffic. Just the way I see it. read more

I ordered 3 (expensive) Just nuts gift tins for out of town family members for Christmas, 2018. All the items listed looked delicious to me! However, I found out from family feedback that the tins did not contain the promised items. I was disappointed to find they only included 4 out of 7 of the promised items, and 3 pecan items were not included. They did not receive any pictured chocolate pecans, butter toffee pecans or chocolate butter toffee pecans--all of which sounded so delicious. Instead, they included an extra section of chocolate covered peanuts, plus glazed peanuts, and some kind of red coated dried fruit. I don't feel any fruit should have been included in a just nuts tin, and the shortage of pecan items did not make it a special Georgia gift like I intended. I also feel I was way overcharged for the items my family received missing so many pecan items. If the missing items were not available, I should have been notified and I would have cancelled my orders. It's the best pecans you can find. Yes it is a little pricey but well worth it. The pecans are meaty and fresh. The ones you find in grocery stores just can't compare. These are the freshest pecans you can buy and they have the best flavor. I buy them for my mom every year for her baking. read more
