Before we even got one word out, the host looked at us and said "oh you need a reservation to eat here and we are all full." Umm...ya we have a reservation, we were just asking a question! We confirmed the reservation time with him and inquired about being able to reserve a table on the patio as we were there celebrating a special occasion. He told us "no we can't save a seat outside, and most likely the patio will be full, you will have to sit indoors." Everyone was a bit offput by his unnecessarily snarky attitude but oh well. Fast forward to the next day of our reservation, we showed up for our 8:00pm reso and were told "oh, no it says here you already checked in for your reservation today at 5pm." We were super confused and assured them that we had indeed not checked in at 5pm and the woman said again "well, that's what it says here." Lol! They finally believed us that we were not having 2 dinners and found us a seat (on the patio!) The food took about 75 minutes to arrive. I ordered a tuna sandwich without bacon. It arrived with a ton of bacon on it! I pointed it out and the waitress said "oh sorry I forgot to ask them...do you want to make a new one?" Since our food took over an hour to come out, there was no way I was going to wait to make a whole new meal, so I just peeled the bacon off and ate my sandwich. No one else's food had mistakes but we were all disappointed with the service, disorganization, and slowness.

Three words: Heaven on earth…read more Dave and Allison are the warmest, most welcoming people we know of. They are hard workers with an understanding of the delicate balance between work and play. Their home like a hug and a massage, and you feel it as soon as you arrive. The setting is on a hill in the valley, with the backdrop of the mountain around and some orchards below and Vineyards in the distance. With plenty of trees, a pond and some bog, this land is home to a lot of wildlife. You will hear quails calling in the day, and then crickets chirping and Coyotes yip-yipping during the night. Countless bird songs are the backdrop on this sound stage. The upstairs common area includes the kitchen, living and dining room, but mostly the breakfasts are served on the very spacious deck overlooking the fabulous view. Allison makes awesome Waffles, served with fresh local fruit and fruit creams, home made Buckwheat or Oat Granola, with choices like home made Almond, milk, or Soy. They serve only non GMO, Organic, and mostly locally grown foods and Dave makes really good coffee too. They are excellent conversationalists. Great listeners and always willing to share what they know about the valley and learn from the people they meet. They have a very wonderful energy. Downstairs we find a table with fixings for Tea or Coffee. Then the simple and elegant woodsy log cabin styled guest rooms with comfy beds, wood beamed ceilings and hardwood flooring. Each room has a sink, comfortable chairs to sit and enjoy the beautiful cross breeze you get from all the windows. The smell of the garden wafts in having an aroma-therapeutic affect that calms the nerves. The bathroom has a shower and a large tub set in front of a window with a breathtaking view. The tiled floors can be heated in cool times. I haven't been this relaxed in a very long time. Can't wait to return. :-)

This high sagebrush desert ( in this case of British Columbia) is very similar to where my Mom grew up in Utah ( Butterfield canyon) and also central Oregon ( Smith Rocks) where her folks spent the last 30 years. My Mom with early stages dementia was like a small innocent child savoring fresh fruits, milk, eggs and buckwheat pancakes. Keremeos is spectacularly situated and there are views everywhere. With all the rain this year the wildflowers were out in full force and a plethora of shades of green everywhere. The Inn is beautifully located with so many fun rooms to choose from. The hosts are friendly and so accommodating with delicious food to meet the needs of my husband who must eat gluten free. The grounds are beautiful, views spectacular and we soaked in the sounds of birds and tranquility. We are really hoping we can come back and visit. I highly recommend staying at the Inn. A girlfriend and I were looking for a nice place to stay for a weekend wine tasting trip. But we were also looking for some creature comforts and hoping to find a nice place with a hot tub and grill. The Elm Tree Farm could not have exceeded out expectations more! The owners (who also operate the surrounding farm) were as nice as could be, including asking about dietary restrictions they might need to accommodate for the home made breakfast (a fritata the first day, french toast the second). The rooms themselves are back away from the house in a separate structure, so we didn't have to worry about disturbing them when we relaxed in the hot tub right outside our room after enjoying a few glasses of the wine we'd picked up that day while wine tasting. They upgraded us to the private suite for free since no one else was staying in the other two rooms at the time. The entire place was very clean and equipped with all modern appliances, while still having a beautiful rustic feel with all the wooden paneling and beams. The guest rooms are build right next to a small creek, along with a small sitting dock and rock alcove for some great opportunities for bird watching. We also had access to a beautiful field and a locker full of sports equipment (badminton, softball, baseball, soccer, golf clubs). We were initially a little hesitant since the farm is about 2km north of the center of town. But in the evening, we were sold upon getting in the hot tub and looking up to a sky bursting with stars. I would recommend this place without reservation. It was an amazing place.

The coffee was good and hospitality was warm and inviting. The hostess, Patti, is so kind and accommodating, we didn't want to leave! There is also the sweetest cat that comes to visit, so if you're like me and obsessed with cats, Rosebud is the cherry on top of an already perfect stay. (If you're allergic, Patti will keep her put away) We will definitely be back. We highly recommend you visit.
