Had my oil change in no time and very affordable. Got me in and out and did a great job.

Maybe great for small repairs, oil changes and car washes, but not for big jobs. Very personable staff. On our way to Yucca, AZ the last few days of Jan 2022, our transmission went out in our Dodge diesel truck about 79 miles north of Ely, NV. We got a tow to Ely and the tow driver told us the best mechanic in town was Cruise In Auto repair. We didn't have much choice. One mechanic insisted the problem was the transfer case and ordered a new one. When the shop manager got back from time off, he checked it out and said not the transfer case, it needs a new transmission. A brand new transmission was ordered from salt lake and we waited 6 weeks for that to get to Ely. Before installation, I mentioned to Dan at cruise in that the coolers need to be checked and replaced if they're no good I was told oh no, we checked those and they're fine. $6k later we finally got the truck back and home to Montana. The truck doesn't get a lot of use at home, but we used it to come back to yucca in Jan 2023. The first few days of April we packed up and left for home. About 15 miles northwest of Kingman, the truck stopped shifting. The transmission was burned up after only 4000 miles. A new transmission had to be ordered and is being installed today at a VERY reputable shop in Kingman. Turns out that BOTH coolers are completely plugged and were not properly flushed and cleaned at the time of installing the transmission a year ago in Ely. So we're waiting for new coolers and transmission to be installed. The Ely shop says they did flush the coolers by "using a couple cans" of cleaner, which is ineffective. They don't have the equipment to do it the right way. That caused the new transmission to fail We would have been better off paying a few thousand to get towed all the way to Vegas or Kingman last year. Would have been cheaper in the long run if that had even been an option. read more

These guys did a great job they put a pulley and a belts to fix my air conditioner in my truck they also did a diagnostic test on my Volvo service the transmission and did everything in a very timely manner the prices were comparable to Vegas very trustworthy will continue highly recommend read more

We had just started our cross country trek from Cali to NC and our oil light would blink for a minute or so then go off. Since we don't have a temperature gauge on our RV I was concerned that we might have a big problem. I called these guys at 10:30 pm and left a message saying we would swing in when they opened in the morning for a diagnostic check (asked them to call me if that would not be convenient). So we showed up the next morning and they were ready for us. They ran a diagnostic twice and everything came up clear. It gave us great peace of mind and Travis and Dan were super helpful and respectful. Thanks guys! read more

First rate! After a VERY long day of driving, and on our way to Las Vegas, we pulled into Ely late at night with our Ford Ranger suddenly showing the dreaded "Check engine" light. The waitress at the hotel where we opted to stay for the night (GREAT stay, Prospector Inn) advised us to take the car to Louis in the morning, the owner at Cruise-In. We really wanted to know if the car was OK to make the rest of the trip to LV, a 3-4 hour drive. Once there, we could take the car to the dealer for service, especially if an extended repair was needed. We got to Cruise-In at 8:00 AM where the mechanic on duty IMMEDIATELY proceed to help us, hooking up the computer to evaluate the check engine codes, noting a cylinder 2 missing issue, checking to see if spark plugs were fouled, etc. 30-45 minutes later, the mechanic advised us that the car appeared OK to make the rest of the trip, and further advising us as to several possibilities that could be causing the issue. Close to this time, Louis joined the conversation to advise us that he would also be driving to LV, and that he'd watch for us in case the car somehow didn't make it. In that case, he'd tow us to LV. He'd make sure to bring some tow straps with him. The charge for all of this? Nothing!!!! The mechanic explained that he really hadn't done anything, glad to help, etc. Louis confirmed the no-charge. My wife and I were (still are) beside ourselves with gratitude!!! These folks could have taken advantage of and gouged us out-of-towners. Instead, we experienced excellent service and kindness. Between our unplanned and positive overnight hotel experience, and this service at Cruise-Inn, we are fans of Ely. Thank you!!!! read more

My blend door in my Mark VIII has been broke for many years, I know the job to fix it entailed a lot of work, and literally ripping my dash apart. Very pleased with their customer service. We are from out of town and had issues with our truck on the way here, were quick to get our truck in, check the parts needed and locate them in ely! They were understanding of our timeline and willing to work through closing early so we could continue our anniversary weekend. Friendly guys, very well educated on what they do! A check engine light came on on my dash early one morning on my way to work. I pulled into Cruise-In because it was 630am, and where else is open? I was told it would be $40 up front to even diagnose my issue. The fancy car computer hookup yielded no results, but a voltmeter explained the problem: failing alternator. I got the part ordered and my vehicle repaired the next day. As far as my car is concerned, I couldn't have asked for better service, really. For my wallet, charging customers an extra $40 is shitty. I understand if I hadn't gotten the problem fixed there, but I did. If I had simply dropped it off and said "fix the problem" could I have saved myself $40? In my mind, that $40 should have been discounted from my repair in the end. From now on, I'll take my car to a friend to diagnose, save myself some money. read more

Very helpful & friendly, located conveniently off highway 93, after pulling up at 4 other repair shops that were closed & 1 that completely ignored that we were there waiting to be helped (Precision Auto Repair, don't go there!), we found this place! Although it was something so minor as replacing a radiator cap, they directed us to the auto parts store.....our problem was solved! Thankfully it wasNt anything serious..... My truck's fuel pump quit in the middle of town. I got a friend to tow it over to Cruise-In on Sunday. Lewis came over on Monday morning and picked me up at the trailer park and took me to the truck. They had it fixed late in the day (the fuel tank was nearly full so it took longer to drain the fuel than it did to fix the pump) and Lewis picked me up again and took me back to his shop so I could pick up the truck. That is some good service - hard to find in Ely. read more
