All the food trucks and stalls are in a different area. Communal tables are set up as well. The lines are long but worth the wait. We got to try a Mexican hot dog with Frito chips on top, killer coffee and a Taiwanese fried chicken cutlet. This was the perfect place for me to buy some souvenirs to bring back. And of course I got some goodies for myself. My son got a small tub of homemade salsa. Tons of booths to explore. I highly recommend. Make sure to wear tons of sunscreen.

You'll find just about everything your heart desires. There are rocks, gems, fossils, supplies for rock hounds, beautiful displays of precious gems, artifacts, toys, clothing and much more. The show runs for two weeks. You can't possibly see everything in the two weeks. Choose what you want to see and focus on that. There are free shuttles that take you to different areas in Tucson. Fun times. Be ready to park in fee lots. Very little free street parking unless you are on the outskirts of the town.

It was was originally created for the Luminarias del Pueblo fundraising auction in April 2005. It is located in the median on West Alameda Street between El Presidio Park and the Tucson Museum of Art. I put in a location edit on Yelp back in Nov. 2022 since the location marker was incorrect. Hubby & I drove all over looking for it. Since then, it has been corrected. Be careful crossing the road to get to it! Desert O is a translucent ring that is 6 feet in diameter This object has a steel skeleton inside that can be seen both during the day and at night. It basically looks white and pretty unremarkable during the day. The ring displays a pattern of colored LED lights that circle slowly inside the sculpture. It is covered with frosted acrylic panels that make it glow brightly. This art is a solar-powered. There is one 'secret' touch-sensitive button that allows visitors to control the lighting. You have to find it from the hundreds of metal fasteners holding the sculpture together. It was nice to get out and take a look at this public art!

The…read moretrolley runs about 6-7 blocks down University from the U of A main gate, then turns south on 4th Ave for another 8 blocks or more and takes you through the restaurants, coffeehouses and shops that are commonly found in the vicinity of a major University. The trolley car itself is cool. I found out from the conductor that it was made in Japan around 1950. They bought it for scrap value but it was costly to move to the US. Much of the signage is in Japanese. The car is well crafted and comprised primarily of wood. The trolley is $1 to ride but Sundays are only .25. You can pretty much hop on or off anywhere along the route which is very convenient. The trolley ride really lends itself to a relaxing afternoon wandering around this neighborhood.

The sauce was interesting it had a sweetness to it that I wasn't a fan of. I've had short rib ravioli at wildflower which they also did a white sauce which I preferred due to it being savory. I can tell it was a wine based sauce which had a nice depth of flavor but the sweetness really killed it for me. My husband had the baked ravioli which was a lasagna style which was great! Robust sauce and large portion. If you're in Tucson the sauce seems very similar to Nate's. We did get a free cheesecake for our anniversary which was very nice, my husband loved this and he's super picky about cheesecake. In addition to the beautiful artwork we could peruse, there was snacks and mangonadas, a DJ, and drinks. One of the museum staff also walked us through an activity to discuss and share our reactions to the art. I loved that she made it feel approachable, even for folks like me who are not art experts. My husband is a big art lover and ended up buying a membership before we left. Can't wait to come back to explore the rest of the collection! Highly recommend stopping by for the Momentos series this summer.

The biennial exhibit at the Tucson Museum of Art was an awesome event! Laila from TMA was an…read moreawesome tour guide who made being at the museum a fun experience that was interactive. Instead of just looking at pieces we were able to really talk about them as a group, get others perspectives, and even meet some new people in the process! I especially loved that we were using yellow number two pencils to create words that resonated with us as we looked at the art. I know that's an odd thing to say, but I don't get to use pencils much (always on a computer) so it was a fun treat. The bartender was fantastic I had a Diet Coke. The DJ kept the tunes pumping and they even had one of my favorite local photographers. Carlos Chavez documenting the event. I especially enjoyed a refreshing mango and watermelon gelati from gelu because it was so dang hot outside, but between the gelati and TMA keeping the museum, nice and cool. It was a pleasant experience. The exhibits were fantastic and having time to learn from Lex, one of the artists about her work and going through the flower, making exercise was so much fun. My flower was certainly an amateur attempt at art, but it was still fun to sit and color and chat with other yelpers while we answered the questions that Lex had curated for us. The other displays and installations were very diverse in subject matter, medium and energy. There was lots of interesting and fun ways to display creativity on show. I really enjoyed my first visit to TMA and will totally be back in the future!
