We went on a Mother's Day, the week after the kids wanted to treat me and I chose this place…read morebecause I had been wanting to try it. We had 4 appetizers lamb chops, mussels, crab cakes and quail. The lamb was delicious but we didn't like the mussels which are normally a favorite but they were too dry and chewy baked and some crumb topping and the little sauce underneath was not helping. Crab cakes were just ok again the sauce was just odd and didn't complement the dish. The quail we weren't a fan of. The Caesar salad was amazing and the pumpkin apple leek soup was delicious as were the flaky croissants. Some had the blackened sea bass and loved it. I had a steak with cognac cream sauce, again the sauce was off putting and over powered the filet. The other steak was topped with their version of an Oscar sauce that had Swiss cheese and crab meat with a tarragon cream sauce and it's offered on most this at an up charge of $15 or so. Honestly the place is lovely and the service was pretty good. I think we would go again armed with the knowledge of ordering everything without any sauce or getting it on the side so it wouldn't ruin anything. We're all fairly adventurous eaters and we all agreed on the sauces issue. We went early so it wasn't crowded and it was quiet and had nice decor of an older Victorian style house with a few too many stairs that again I think I would ask to be seated on the entry level so I only have to climb the stairs to the porch which is shady and nice.

The place was busy on…read morea Saturday evening around 5:30pm, and another guest actually told us to grab a seat wherever we would like after we stood there at the door for a bit. There were 3 ladies serving the entire restaurant. From what I could tell, they were responsible for drink orders, bringing out food, bussing tables, and plating desserts and bringing those out too. There are no menus and only 1 option for family style chicken and fish, with a salad, bread, and sides consisting of corn, mashed potatoes and gravy, dumplings, and green beans. They don't tell you this. I had spoken to another guest, so I knew this was the case, but if I hadn't, with this being our first visit, I would have been very confused. We had a very young waitress who was still new. She was doing her best, and I felt bad for her, but we waited for extended periods of time on food, and never had a drink refill. The only thing hot when the food came out was the chicken. All of the sides were barely warm at all. The fish and hush puppies were also not hot. They bring you one piece of chicken each, and then we waited 20+ minutes for additional food once we were able to finally ask the waitress for more. The table next to us ordered desserts when we got our bread and drinks, and they still didn't have them when we had already finished our meal, paid the bill, and were leaving. The waitress explained to them that she had to make the desserts herself and she was slammed with just trying to bring food out and get drink orders and that she was still new. She apologized multiple times, but it's not a good system at all. They need someone bussing tables, so the waitresses can focus on drinks and food. They need a sign that tells you to seat yourself. They need to ask if it's your first visit when they walk up to get your drink order so they can explain how they do things if it's your first visit. The bread and strawberry butter was my favorite part of the meal. The side salad had a good flavorful dressing, but only comes as a bowl of lettuce with a couple grape tomatoes sliced in half. The food had good flavor, even though it was cold and we waited for extended periods of time to receive it. The restaurant was clean. Since you have no menu and no idea what to expect, the prices are $18.95 each, and a 4% up charge for debit or credit cards as of July 2025. Unfortunately, we were not impressed at all and probably would not visit again based on this first experience.

Bill was easy to read. Also took home 2 dinners and there is plenty of chicken in both of them. Don't know what some people's problem is.

This is probably the WORST food I've ever eaten. So sad this is what was once Tom's has become!…read moreTonight was "pasta night". Funny it's supposed to be a BBQ place and there was no bbq. I think Nate and Michelle should stick to running a food truck! Out of everything, pasta was worse than Fazolis, the "fillet" was a cheap frozen pre grill marked steak folded in half to look like a filet, out of asparagus, side was frozen french fries, salad was floating in dressing. Had 3 servers, was told people were walking out so guess that should have been our clue to run for the exit as well! Michelle spilled a drink on my friend's phone, no apologies, I had sweet tea, Michelle sits the pitcher down and says "there's the pitcher". Michelle brings my friend a refill and slams her soda down. No apologies or nothing! I'm sure this place will be going bankrupt soon and back to the food truck big Nate will be going to! We did have lots of laughs because we've all never been somewhere so terrible! As we're walking out Michelle says "be careful don't let grandma fall", the woman she's referring to was highly offended because she's not a grandma! A frozen dinner or McDonald's would be better than this place. Some are food truck people some are restaurant people, we clearly know what kind of people Michelle and Nate are.
