I was contacted from Cannons admin requesting my documentation needed to be uploaded by 5/15/23 which it was. Then I was contacted on 6/5/23 from Chelsi Baker (CPA working for Cannon) for additional documentation. I submitted exactly what she asked for... I never received any communication from her upon receiving. Then after 2 months of hearing nothing from either Chelsi or Cannon, I emailed Cannon about any updates on my taxes. Then finally on Sept 30 I was informed my taxes were completed and that I owed Federal and State. Then I was informed that I would have to pay fines and penalties due to those being accrued on 10/02/23....but was it my fault that they were done just 2 days before the penalty date? Again no communication or updates! As a result I told them to remove me as a client due to their negligence. Then as I was informed of the penalties with no fault of my own, I was upset and let them know about it. Then they replied that maybe I should find another firm after I had already told them to remove me as a client. Would you trust your firm that didn't communicate and cost you penalties due to their negligence? Highly would not recommend them from my personal experience

There were a couple of hurdles to overcome: 1) We are not fans of e-filing; Robin will bowl you over with reasons why you should. 2) She wants your paperwork in by the first week in March -- preferably February! Some of our documentation isn't in our hands by that time, so we had to have her file for a Late Filing Extension -- something we'd never done before.
