Scott from Reliable Home Services deserves every ounce of praise he receives!…read more Scott contacted me after I filled out a form with Service Magic, and he literally called me within 5 minutes of submitting my inquiry. From our first phone conversation, I was sold and didn't entertain any other offers. I was looking to have laminate installed on my entire 1st floor, and Scott advised me on the most cost-effective and easy way to get this done. From start to finish, his expertise has been INVALUABLE. He and his team have treated my home with the utmost respect, and have done immaculate work. Each day I come home more impressed than the day before, and as he wraps up (today!) I am so excited to see the end product. In addition to the laminate floors, during one of our consultations I mentioned that we were hoping to eventually replace the existing doors and closets with white ones, and Scott mentioned that he could help us take care of that. Through the entire process, Scott has been honest and upfront and communicative about any and all challenges and setbacks. He has called me daily to give me progress reports on the floors, and to see if I have any questions. I could NOT have asked for a better experience!

I had an awful experience with IBI. The entire project was mismanaged (3 different project managers…read morein a 6 month period) with poor communication, poor workmanship, and an owner (Tony) who would rather battle his clients than right any wrongdoing by his company. We had them do three different areas of tilework; kitchen backsplash, powder room floor, and a 225 sq ft sunroom. All three areas had to be redone as the workmanship was such a poor quality. I had to hire a separate company to fix the powder room floor after IBI botched the job twice (see white mosaic tile picture). The kitchen backsplash tile spacing was extremely uneven (the installer used torn pieces of construction paper for spacers) and had to be ripped out and reinstalled. The tile spacing in the sun room (10" dark gray hexagon tiles) was off by as much as .5" in places and tiles had to be removed and reinstalled. The grout color was mixed incorrectly and way lighter than it was supposed to be. On top of all that, the charged us more than double industry standard for the work. We eventually had to take them to arbitration to receive credits that were owed. Almost all of the work was subcontracted. The only work that IBI actually did was install new cabinets. The kitchen was gutted and their "designer" created a layout that could not fit a standard sized refrigerator. They did not realize this until everything was done and the fridge didn't fit in the space allotted. We were left with a damaged fridge (dented by IBI in the moving process - another matter that was settled in arbitration) that was sticking out 3 feet into our kitchen for months while we battled to get the issue corrected. They eventually had to rip out the cabinets and modify the design so that we could have a standard sized fridge. Save yourself a major headache and avoid Incredible Builders. Hire someone else who can do the job right the first time. Also, be cautious of the positive reviews that are sure to follow this one. Tony has been known to hassle customers who had an ok experience and pressure them to write positive reviews to save face for the company. When it got time for me to get the bathrooms done I had the tough task of finding someone I could trust to do the work; as a single girl in the city I didn't want to get taken advantage of. Luckily, my handyman got me in touch with Tim at LA Remodel. Tim and his partner Mike are great. They came out, we talked about what I needed done and gave me an estimate. The work they did was excellent and completed quickly. Since they knew I was on a budget they consulted any time something unexpected came up that would cost more or let me know if there were ways I could save some money, which is why I decided to paint the bathrooms myself and save some cash. I felt like Tim was psychic, I told him what type of look I was going for and all of the samples he brought for me to choose from were spot on. He even picked the faucets that I would've chosen myself. They were also really neat and clean; you get to one bathroom through my bedroom and you could hardly tell they'd been there they cleaned up so well on a daily basis; my rug was cleaner than it was before they started! Tim even called so he could return my cat's favorite toy, which they accidentally took when finishing the job. I thanked him from avoiding a potential crisis since watching her diligently search for it was pretty sad. You almost forget she easily has about 50 other toys she could play with. Tim and his partner also did some work for my parents. They too were thrilled with the quality of work they did for him. As my mom said, their estimates may not be the lowest, but they're spot on - so no surprises. Bottom line: Tim and his partner Mike do great, quality work. I trust them immensely, plus they're insured and bonded.
