After he had become bedridden, she called me eight hours into her shift to find out how to change his diaper. I called the on-call person to get support. This person informed me that she was unable to go to clients homes due to family obligations that required her presence. I found this unacceptable and quickly found a nursing student to replace them. If you are reading this you are probably as clueless as I was when my quest began. Nursing students are a good source for sitter, as are nursing homes, since a lot of their staff moonlight. Questions I did not know to ask: Training for sitters? Support for sitters by agency? Background checks for staff?

They do a very good job with children! They made us feel very comfortable and the dental assistant was really great with him! He wasn't nervous at all and really liked the assistant and the dentist that came to give him a look over. All very nice people, so we'll be bringing him back here for his check ups and dental work!
