We got there a bit early to grab a drink and snack at the bar with the friendly bartender and when the show started it was great. I visited this comedy club for my friend's improv show and had a very fun evening. We came during a huge rain storm so this added to the fun of the experience. Tickets were $14/person ($12 if you buy them online in advance). There were snacks and drinks you could purchase. In the back, there were two gender neutral single stall bathrooms. I came in a little wet from the rain and the AC was blasting. I was shivering the entire show, but guessed the AC was nice for the actors on the stage with the bright lights. It reminded me a little of "Whose line is it anyway" with the points, except there was a referee and two clear teams. They played a variety of games and there were some very funny moments. It's located in a strip mall so there is a lot of parking available out front. If you have a friend performing here, I recommend checking this spot out. read more

It started with a camp for my son, which far exceeded any expectations teaching discipline, respect, teamwork, and how to think on your feet. This experience led to classes that allowed me a place to be free, fail, and laugh in a wonderfully accepting environment. I started attending Comedy Sportz and other shows here some time ago and got hooked. The pros are incredibly funny. There are many games they play, usually based on audience suggestions. The show really sucks you in. The improvisers are incredibly friendly. That makes sense considering its a nonprofit that works with charities for people with disabilities. Jen (Lewis?) is by far the funniest cast member. And I really enjoy Dave and Rachel as referees. The concessions offer a nice selection of snacks at cheap prices. We don't have kids ourselves, but the shows are very family friendly. You've got to check out at least one of their shows! You won't regret it. read more

My wife and I regularly attend their shows and like all live improvised comedy experiences will vary dramatically. Comedy Sportz (CSz) puts on a variety of shows including but not limited to Open Mic, Stand-Up Routines, Competitive Improv, Adult (late Night Laughs) Improv, Sensory Friendly Improv, and special programs like Die of the Beholder, All Skate, and others. They have a wide breath of participants that put on the shows as well. Something to keep in mind when attending many of their shows All Skate, Late Night Laughs, Comedy Sportz match, and many of the others are a live unscripted Comedy Show that is guided by suggestions from the audience; so if you have a lively, creative, and interactive audience it makes the shows a lot more fun. The Csz crew really feeds off the intensity of the audience and some night attendance is higher than others. Overall it is an inexpensive night out, a lot of fun, and the people are just super people. read more

For less than the cost of a movie ticket, you, your family, your friends, your date, really anyone can enjoy 2 hours of hilarious entertainment together! The premise for the ComedySportz show is that there are 2 teams that compete with one another to win a series of improvisation games. Think "Whose Line is it Anyway," but with 2 teams, performed right in front of your face, and you can get involved as well! Before the show you may also purchase colored lights to vote for which team you liked better after each round. The venue is intimate, and the humor is funny for ALL ages (including young adults such as myself). They only sell little snacks inside, so plan on dinner before or after the show. The regular shows are hilarious, interactive and family friendly. The clean comedy offered by the family friendly shows manage to be clever and entertaining while staying perfectly appropriate for all ages. The late night Overtime shows are hilarious. Leave the kids at home as they're not always kiddie friendly. IMO, the late night shows are even better than the regular shows. Sometimes, it's just time to put the kids to bed and cut loose. For less than the cost of a movie, you will be entertained. Plus- participate! There are perks and surprises for those that take part in the fun. It's also worth mentioning that they hold improv classes and workshops for all ages. Check their website for info. So after watching some videos people posted online where they claimed to be bored and seeing the low-budget set-up of this place, I wondered if taking my daughter there for New Year's Eve was a bad idea. I was wrong. They keep costs low because they give a lot to charity (they are 501c3, I think), but the cast is hilarious and a lot of fun. We had a really great time. Comedy Sportz is an improv contest between two teams. It's great clean comedy (at least the early show) that all members of the family can enjoy. I have been several times and have yet to be disappointed. The players are talented and and the games are hilarious! If you get a chance to volunteer, you should. The only thing I find "odd" is the national anthem prior to the "sporting event." Overall a great event for a great price. read more

This is wonderful inexpensive family friendly entertainment. Friday and Saturday you are introduced to team improv. Two groups of 3 compete for points. It is fun because it is interactive--they ask for ideas from the audience. Come prepared to think creatively as they might ask for a sport, then say, "you're not swimming in water, but what...." and they ask the audience for off the wall answers, like lava....... I went to a show here for the first time this weekend, and it was awesome. For the same price as a movie, you get a fun, interactive experience. It was a great deal, and something different from the normal dinner date. The entire cast was very talented and funny. There were no dull or awkward moments, and the show was the perfect length. I've been to this theater several times now and it's always a fun and very affordable night out. The improvisers are high spirited, high energy, and incredibly creative people. They don't get paid to perform, rather the (very reasonable) admissions and concessions go toward keeping the theater in business. I've also been when they donated all the concessions revenue to charity, which was really cool. Please think about trying something new and checking it out. Ummm, we saw a show here in 2011 and it was very much corny. It was definitely for the kid crowd as there were a butt load of kids and two young married couples (including us) in the crowd. Perhaps we should try the adult late night shows that are now offered. It was a funny shared experience but only because we thought the show was so corny. read more

I laughed so much that I developed a headache! The players were funny and talented. Their gift and skill of improvisation was remarkable. I was amazed by the timing and the wittiness of the comedians! My wife and I were really impressed by the bubbly high energy youthfulness of Sarah Murphy, the commanding captivating improvisation skill of Micah Edwards, and the obvious passion of Scott Ingwersen. The referee Susan Scovill did a great job keeping the audience attentive and involved. Two thumbs up for Comedy Sportz! I am really feeling the "Loyal Fan" title we were given at the show last night. We will even give a pass to the comedian who had to ask for clarification on who Harriet Tubman was in history, and only charge it to her head and not her heart because I am so impressed with what all the comedians are capable of doing without preparation of the audience's suggestions. Did not enjoy it. The comedy acting was too forced, too stiff, and awkward to watch for me. Half of the time I was trying to make out what they were saying? Cheesy lines come out on spot. My wife and I attended a Saturday night show about 18 months ago, and we had a blast. Fast pace and quick wit. I then found out they have corporate training sessions that revolve around a number of topics. As I run a small business in town, I hired ComedySportz to conduct "Communication" training with my Sales team. We had the sales meeting on-site, and then adjourned to the theater for two hours of interactive excercises. What a blast...and wow did I learn alot about some of our team-members. These are people that I've worked with for years, and I finally saw them break out of their shell.
