This is a quick ride either to the Loop or O'Hare so a pretty good location. It gets so many riders at this station because it's a popular area. It serves the Blue Line. This is a major commuter route. A ton of people get off here. There's a need for all these entrances and they all lead to one platform. It somehow isn't all that crowded. This is one of the first stops coming from O'Hare. It's probably the first of these worth getting off if you don't live around any. There's lots of trendy coffee shops and restaurants. Fun place to get out and hang. The station itself also has some cool artwork to check out. An important area. It has lots to do around here. There's also access to busses outside the main station.

Also, the tunnel to the Oak Park platform smells awful. The ticket counter in Oak Park is closed so you have to buy tickets on board. Attendants on board have been pleasant. There are no covered seats on the Oak Park waiting deck so come prepared for sunshine and/or rain- we've had both this week. Also the overhead announcements run nearly continuously, headache inducing. Adequate, functional... but happy I don't have to use Metra on a regular basis.

It also has nearby parking, wheelchair ramps and several entrance points. There are lots of restaurants, coffee shops and stores within a 2-5 minute walk from the station too. As for the train itself, the seats are comfortable, the conductors are pleasant and the trains are usually clean so I prefer paying a little more to take this into the city over the Green Line/EL. I board the Union Pacific West Metra from this station at least 3-4 times a month and when I do, the morning trains are pretty much always on schedule and the other riders are a good group of people to share space with. Most appear to be business professionals and students heading into the city. The afternoon trains during peak hours are pretty much the same. The ride from Oak Park to Ogilvie is 15-20 minutes. This is also a quicker option than CTA Green Line if going anywhere near Madison & Clinton. CTA makes a lot of stops.

One of the oldest stations still in operation, with the station made mostly of wood. Good views of the neighborhood from up here and it doesn't smell bad with the fresh air. There's often delays, which is the only bad thing. Hipsters catch the train here. It serves the Blue Line. There's a shitload of bars and restaurants. Always busy. Lots of Instagramming motherfuckers. As for the station, it's a classic. This is my most favorite other than the Quincy station. Both have old wood paneling. There's actually a charm about it, which you can't say about most stations. Lots of places around here to drink and eat. There's a Stan's Donuts right next to here. Busy intersection. There's lots of buses to hop on. Because trains are coming here from O'Hare, there's often delays. It's the biggest complaint about it. There's lots to check out in and around this if waiting.

From what I have noticed it is actually safe, but that does not mean that I would not keep alert while in it even as an African American. CTA Kedzie is one of the high traffic areas in East Garfield Park due to everyone coming in-and-out, and also because of the liqa sto (One Eleven Food & Liquors) being posted about 100 meters from the station. I'm crossing my fingers that 'One Eleven Food & Liquors' gets torn down and becomes the parking lot for 'The Hatchery' once 'The Hatchery' has been completed, but that's a whole different topic. However, if you have ever been to this area you will understand what type of traffic it brings. The worst you will encounter in this area are drunks, druggies and drug dealers which stems from the liqa sto being a hit, but other than that it is just people trying to carry out their day whether that be going to school, work, or home via the train or bus. At night the traffic calms down, but that does not mean you stop being alert because it is pretty dark in this area once you get off that train and exit the CTA stop itself. Thomas G

It's a great stop in the midst of a neighborhood of people trying to do the best they can with that they were given. It is a crossroads of kids coming from and going to school, with a few restaurants thrown in the mix. It's actually a very safe area and there is a Garfield Outdoor Market on the south-eastern corner of the street on Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings that has great produce. It's in the location of the soon-to-be-built "Hatchery", which is a food service small business incubator that has some very substantial community resource behind it.

No heating lamps available during the winter but there is a shelter where the benches are available. But guess what? They just started doing construction on this stop as of June 2017 and hopefully it gets remodeled? Keeping my fingers crossed!

As Metra stations go, this is bare-bones. It's 2 platforms with an un-gated crossing and no…read moreservices. There's a sheltered bench on each side, and the shelters are fairly deep--way better than a bus shelter. The station is reached by a standard urine-soaked stairway or ramp. The locale seems a bit sketchy to me, although fine during the day. W did see Metra Police on the platform and boarding the train on one visit, which makes me feel safer. There are tacos available within blocks of the station, as is Studio 41, a home renovation showroom (my reason for using the station). What's cool about this station (if you're traveling with a 5 year old who's utterly obsessed with rail travel) is the spur that splits off from the main line, just past the platform. Both times we visited, a CSX freight engine was delivering railcars to a factory, so we got to watch workers manually operate the switch, decouple cars, return the switch to it's original setting and head back to the depot. Big doings. We also saw long freight trains, coming past between Metra trains. So, it's great if you're into trains, and also if you're trying to hit the west edge of Logan Square and you don't want to walk from the El.

I could tell you this is because of the Fulton Market area, but I believe such places ought to be judged by their own merits, rather than the area where they find themselves. Morgan is a modern station. While not a work of art, per se, the tasteful use of stainless steel with some design elements gives it a more pleasant look than the old, worn, vanilla found in other 'L' stations. (Let's put aside for now those with old charm.) Morgan is also clean, well-lit, easy to navigate, fully accessible, and wider than average. These features aren't necessarily rare, but a station is better when they're present. Ample signage, too! Finally, seating here is limited, but this is typical of almost all stations, and while I think I know the reasons, this is not the forum to discuss them. Thus, Morgan earns a spot among the better of CTA stations, with standouts being its modern design, cleanliness, and accessibility.

Everything still shines, the steel and concrete still look fresh, and it just looks like it hasn't been around for centuries, like some of the other Chicago Transit Authority stops. There's even some wonderful public art that this station overlooks, with some cool murals that the community has put up. It's a beautiful stop that overlooks some fun shops, great restaurants, and things to do in the area. The stop also affords a great view of the city! If you need to get to somewhere in this neighborhood, I suggest you make this a way to get there! The station is handicapped accessible, and makes for easy travel in and out with a swift elevator that smelled of Pine-sol. It's a great way to get to the Fulton Market area.

It's a busy station, and unless you're a frequent traveler, it can be difficult to figure out which track your train will depart from and exactly where you're supposed to line up. The signage and boarding process can be a bit overwhelming for first-time or occasional passengers. They do have a customer service counter, and I've found the staff there to be helpful if you have the time to stop and ask questions. Having rail service from Milwaukee to downtown Chicago is a tremendous convenience, and Union Station remains a beautiful gateway to the city. With a little clearer wayfinding, it would be an even better experience.

The train system is pretty slow but not much differen timewise than driving or taking a plane. You can carry much more luggage than a plane without extra cost. The only annoying part was that we needed an Uber when we arrived, and the union designated pickup spot didn't have good signage to find. On our way home, it was easy to find our train using the screens with outgoing and incoming information. It went very smooth and enjoyable.
