The outside is constructed of native stone and has been kept intact. The owners added a fountain centerpiece that complements the rest of the stone structure. Near the road, a replica of the original neon sign stands as a beacon for the Route 66 traveler. The lobby is also impressive. The front desk incorporates some of the motifs that are found in the original stonework outside. Approaching the Neon Room, the first thing I noticed was the glow-in-the-dark neon paint labeled number 1. The inside reminded me of a room you'd find at a boutique hotel. The centerpiece is Reddy Kilowatt, an American cartoon character. He lights up and yes, it's real neon. On the ceiling above the king bed is a neon rocket. There's a partial glass block divider has multi-colored lighting around it that completes the room's overall glow. In addition, the vanity mirror has adjustable lighting. I preferred the soft, golden yellow light. Next to the bed is a mirrored nightstand with jewel-like sparkles. The lamp and coaster match the nightstand perfectly. I found the sound muffler/masking machine useful. I chose the waterfall setting to help me fall asleep. The bed and pillows are extremely comfortable. The blue velvet curtains help darken the room so you can see the neon lighting better even during the daylight hours. There's plenty of closet space. The bathroom shower is completely tiled. There is no bathtub. Visitors should also be aware there is no microwave in the neon room. It does have a small refrigerator as well as a Keurig coffee maker with flavored and regular coffee. There are hundreds of other details I've left out about the motel. My review doesn't do it justice. It's one of those places you have to experience for yourself. I highly recommend staying there.

Before booking, read the reviews on Google, Yelp, and TripAdvisor--you'll see we are not the first to experience this. Three weeks ago, my son-in-law called and spoke directly with Michele Broxton, the owner, regarding full-time opportunities while moving from California to Missouri. She was friendly and helpful, guaranteed him a spot when ready at a monthly rate of $595 or three months in advance at a discounted rate of $1,500, and then completely ghosted him. For the next two weeks, he tried calling, texting, and emailing repeatedly to confirm the deposit for placement. Meanwhile, trusting her guarantee and the availability of openings, he secured employment starting in March and arranged RV transport, paying over $2,500 for delivery to Ozark Farms on February 24, 2026. Being from Missouri and familiar with the area, I got involved because I know it's a great state to raise a family--but based on Ozark Farms' website, this experience was anything but welcoming. I called to check if there had been a communication error and found two additional numbers still routing to Michele Broxton. I called, texted, and emailed every single one, hoping someone would respond--no one ever did. Finally, after numerous attempts, someone answered at 5:30 PM California time / 7:30 PM Missouri time. I believe it was Michele Broxton. When I asked if this was Ozark Farms, the response was, "How can I help you?" I explained the urgency and asked if I was speaking with Michele Broxton--she refused to answer and stated she needed to speak only with the person signing the agreement. When I requested to merge the call with my son-in-law, she refused. Throughout the call, she acknowledged the urgency in a somewhat caring tone--but gave no apologies, no explanation, and would not confirm her identity. She stated she would review communications to "ensure nothing was lost in translation." It doesn't matter who I spoke with--this person is a representative of Ozark Farms and the face of the company to customers. Despite being polite and professional, the lack of respect and transparency was shocking. Only after persistent follow-ups did she finally contact my son-in-law--and not by phone or text, but via an email at 9:30 PM PST / 11:30 PM Missouri time, declining his reservation four hours after our call. We will never recommend or patronize Ozark Farms. They advertise as a "caring, family-run business," but offer zero communication or transparency. Relocating to a new state is a huge financial and personal commitment. Prospective tenants deserve honest communication, clarity, and follow-through--things Ozark Farms failed to provide.

Not Ideal for Tent Campers…read more My husband and I stopped here for one night while passing through town and were unfortunately disappointed with our stay. We tent camp, and the setup was not very tent-friendly. The sites were on a hill with inconvenient parking -- we had to haul our gear quite a distance to reach our spot. Our site did have water and electricity, which was a plus, but the overall layout made it difficult to enjoy. While the campground was generally well maintained and offered flush toilets, free showers, and a laundry facility, those amenities were not conveniently located near the tent camping area. Noise was also an issue: there's a train that runs nearby during the night, constant highway traffic, and chickens that crow loudly right next to the campsites. Check-in was confusing. No staff were onsite to assist, upon arrival no map or parking pass was provided, and signage was unclear. We received an email the day before with basic info, but the lack of clear directions made arrival frustrating. Overall, this campground may work better for RV travelers, but for tent campers, it felt disorganized and poorly designed. We wouldn't choose to stay here again.

Our family has been making an annual pilgrimage here each summer to float the Meremac for over 20…read moreyears. We've seen wonderful changes with the current owners. This is a family campground, clean, well maintained and beautifully situated on the river. However, it is on a river and with that comes rocks, mud, potential flooding, wildlife, insects, and some hardy partiers. There will be spiders in your cabin, the carpet is not clean, the furniture is old, lines are not plush, and pillows are flat. But toilets flush, water from the spigot will run clear after a few minutes and the mud usually dries up pretty quickly. This campground has quiet hours and isn't crazy full of drunks, like others in the area. But it is a take out spot for paddlers, so you will be entertained by floaters at the end of their day of drinking. Typically a nice rocky beach exists and you can hang at the river. Now if it's been raining a lot the beach may be gone. This is rare. Indian Springs is an ideal place to stay to float. At your appointed time you and all your coolers get to go on a crazy ride on an old school bus where you'll be given your raft, canoe or kayak for the day. Then you simply paddle down a cool, clear, fairly shallow river until you return to your campground for a hot shower. Even hot meals are served on the weekends (breakfast and suppers). Let's talk about the term "resort." It is used very loosely in this part of MO. The five stars is not for fancy luxury. It's for practicality. In your cabin, You can expect electricity, clean linens, dorm sized fridge, running water, air conditioning, beds and a few chairs and a table on a sort of screened porch. Fire circles, trash cans and some playground equipment are available outside. Pack the kids' bikes, a pet if you're willing to pay the pet fee/fine and your own beer. While ice is available, no cold beer is sold at the store. Horseshoe pits and shoes are available for free. Our family finds this campground awesome for our needs. We have a large group (60-70 people of all ages--this year we ranged from 4 to 80 years old. We rent cabins all close to each other, some choose the extra tiny motel rooms, while some families camp (not recommended for tent camping as too prone to flooding/standing water). We make large group meals--imagine packing crockpots, roasters, fish fryers, etc. There is a small swimming pool--but I believe the owners have had it with replacing the liner so it is going to be turned into a lillypad pond. We will miss it. But we've already put down our deposit for next year!

Looking for a getaway? You have to go to Jones Quarry and stay in one of their 2 tiny houses. The…read moresetting on the Quarry will make you want to come back. Crystal clear water will invite you to float your cares away. Paradise was an HGTV tiny house built right there on the Quarry and the Oasis is even more inviting- if that was even possible! They just made the top 10 list in MO! The owners are incredible! I promise once you go you will want to go back. But book early for next summer because they sell out fast.
