I'm ashamed to say that I have driven by this place a thousand times and not stopped. Today was different, had to check it out. This place is awesome! Small cafe that offer some bakery items and a pretty decent menu selection. I ordered a Cuban sandwich combo which comes with a sandwich, fries and a can drink (coke product). The sandwich was delicious, the fries were typical and the coffee was strong. The service was awesome and I love the cafe/bakery atmosphere. I see myself ordering lunch from this place more often. read more

We're originally from Miami, and living in Virginia. We're visiting our family in Georgia and this restaurant makes me feel like we're back in Miami! I missed the croquetas, pan de bono, and delicious sandwhiches they have to offer. Definitely authentic when it comes to food from the taste and presentation. Please don't skip out on the coffee. Absolutely amazing. The service was amazing. The staff here immediately greeted us and talked to us like family. Conversing about things to do around the area and about our hometown. The restaurant is very clean and seating is plentiful for our whole family. & they even offer little treats and desserts for different occasions.. this one being Valentine's Day! Small family owned Cuban shop which is why we were excited to go here but unfortunately we're disappointed. They only have Swiss cheese for their sandwiches so if this is a deal breaker for you. You have been warned and although they look like they bake their pastries there, the bread did not seem fresh & we ordered 4 sandwiches here. Additionally, we had a child that wanted a sandwich that wasn't pressed and they said they couldn't do it because the cheese needed to be melted and was frozen. The sandwiches were about $9-11 a sandwich which is a bit overpriced for the quality of it and lack of cheese/meat they add. We also ordered fruit smoothies and a "fresh juice" which all tasted extremely watered down. They used frozen fruit from bags and water & blended it with the ninja so again at the price they charge for them it just wasn't worth it. read more

Cuban food is always a plus in my book! Here's my review: Location: inside a shopping plaza. Beware of the potholes! They are large lol Atmosphere! Omg so Cuban! Feels like I'm right in Cuba, the music, the people, the flava - everything made me fe right at home. The staff: everyone was nice and my server confirmed my order. The food: amazing! Very delicious. I typically go to papis but this gem was more my style. Like a mom and pops store from the size but it was perfect. Down to the hand baked cake (you know I love my sweets!) I stopped in early afternoon to check out their empanadas. The Cuban empanadas were made with a flour shell. They were ok and only $2.35 each. We tried the chicken and the beef. They were filled nicely, but I didn't care for the shell. Now, the Columbian empanadas were made with corn. They were the bomb.com and only $1.70. Those only came in one filling-beef and potatoes. They were fried to perfection. They have a couple of different dipping sauces you can try. I liked the green one because it had a nice cilantro flavor. It's a cute little sandwich shop. Wowowowow. New favorite Cuban/Columbian spot in ATL. The pictures on Yelp do not do this place justice. If you're around Lawrenceville and are looking to grab a snack, breakfast, lunch, or a quick dinner - Cuban Sandwich has got you covered. First off - this place was a bit hard to find. It's in a shopping center behind another shopping center off of West Pike street. Not easily visible from the road but Google Maps will steer you in the right direction. You know you're there when you see their cute, colorful sign. Parking is also in a private lot so you should have no issue with parking. The service here is on point. Everyone we spoke to was so friendly! We were greeted by a very nice lady (I didn't catch her name) when we walked in and she made us feel super at home. Michael was a pro at helping me and my wife navigate the menu and made the whole ordering process super easy. We came in for a snack but ended up ordering 4 things cause it all sounded so good! The menu has great depth and variety so we will definitely be coming back for more. I'll review the items we ordered this time below: MARIQUITAS - First time trying this and I'm so glad I did! Mariquitas is the Cuban name for plantain chips (it also means lady bug in Spanish :). These are thinner and crunchier than any plantain chip I've had before and so good! They also fill the box up with chips. For $3.50 I can't think of a better value. The chips come with 2 sauces - a green and a pink sauce. I believe the green sauce was some sort of pesto and the pink sauce was a garlic mayo. Both went really well with the chips! CUBAN SANDWICH - It takes a lot of confidence to name your store after a specific food cause it really sets the expectation that food is gonna be amazing. This CUBAN SANDWICH exceeds that hype. Crispy bread, fresh from the oven. Juicy cuban pork, marinated for days and covered with spices. Yummy ham with crispy sour pickles and mustard all brought together with perfectly stringy cheese. The first bite will change your life and I can't believe it's only $7.25. GUAVA AND CHEESE PASTRY - I worked at a bakery for a few years so I'm familiar with your standard filled triangle pastry and this one stands with the best of them. This is everything you would expect - crispy flaky pastry dough with a sweet guava/cream cheese filling. The guava has a great texture and pairs well with the salty cheese. The pastry is covered with granulated sugar which gives it a nice texture. It's a nice touch! CORTADITO - Small cup of espresso with milk and sugar. About 6 ounces total - the coffee is very strong. As a black coffee lover, Igot half sugar and thought there was still a good balance of coffee and sweet flavor. Folks with a sweet tooth might want to try full sugar! Things that I'll be coming back for that sounded tasty include: chicharron, chicken and cheese tostones, cuban steak platter, empanadas, tres leches, and many more. (insert drooling emoji here :) Overall, Cuban Sandwich is a place that makes me so happy and excited that it exists. They have friendly service and quality food at a great price - the holy restaurant trifecta. I'll definitely be coming back and I suggest you try it out yourself! read more

I ordered on ubereats and was very disappointed. I order Cuban beef empanadas and got potato Colombian empanadas, which was very disappointing. I ordered yellow rice and it was just Mexican rice. The cortadito was disappointing as well. I am huge Cuban food fan and I am disappointed authenticity and quality of the food and drinks. Yesterday, I went here for the first time. Staff was very friendly. Had the chicken empanadas Colombian & Cubana, yellow rice, black bean, sweet plantains and grilled jerk chicken. Food was still hot when I got home, seasonings were authentic and the potions are plentiful. My only complaint is that the person taking my order didn't speak English and it didn't help to point out what I wanted from menu since my order was still wrong. Tasty Cuban sandwich & fried yucca, exactly what I was craving and they did not disappoint. Some of the previous reviews for this restaurant are all over the place, but I still gave it a try. Yes, the restaurant's location isn't the best and it's more of a hole in the wall restaurant than one of the big chain locations. Yes, the staff speak Spanish. I wouldn't expect anything else. But she did her best to communicate with me and my limited Spanish and made sure to point to thmenu for additional clarification. Pricing - a bit costly compared to nearby Cuban or Cuban-esque restaurants. I spent $11.55 for a Cuban and fried yucca(needed more salt/seasoning). For comparison sake, you can get a Cuban and fries for just under $10 at Papi's Grill. The service was fast and the food was better than some nearby comparable locations. I would definitely have to try it again to see how consistent they are. read more

First I want to comment on the other reviews, having lived in Miami does not make you an expert on Cuban food. Yes I am also from Miami, I am also Cuban, and I base my food knowledge from what my Cuban parents and grandparents made for me. In the late 80's early 90's Miami started to become more Peruvian so most of the restaurants are more of a fusion of both rather then just Cuban. Sorry the waitress didn't speak English well, that would be the same in Miami, but in Miami if you can't speak Spanish you are very out of luck. Sorry you think the pastelitos looked old, most do after an hour or two. If you are in Miami most are picked over within an hour or two and only a few get leftover until closing. I went there in the morning and she had a larger selection that looked fresh. I came back to get my wife a coffee around 6ish and there was only two left. Most restaurants in the area and in Miami really have to compete with each other and embellish their Cuban sandwiches. This place doesn't... Simple butter pressed Cuban bread, roasted pork, ham, salami, mustard, Swiss cheese, and a pickle. That is what reminds me of just eating a sandwich at my grandmother's condo pool. Nothing special, just good. Its a shame the place is tucked away in the location it is, but that's probably what they can afford, in my travels I find the best places tend to be small holes in the wall. When I went the Health code rating was a high "B", not the best, but not the worst. Remember the Starbucks inside the Mall of Georgia was a "D" the last time I went there and that place is still packed. I comparing this place to other local "Cuban" places like Papi's or Havana South, which are good in their own right, but I enjoyed this place and the simple sandwich I wanted to take back to my office and eat. The others are full meals with special sauces and add-ons that don't work. Less is more in my opinion. read more

I discovered this place almost accidentally. It's tucked into a small strip mall and I could only see the sign from the street. So glad I did find it though. It's a wonderful, family run, casual restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious and not overpriced. I was also very impressed with the owner's son who was running it when I went in to eat.
