We had a couple weeks to change items (some ended up selling with the house) and with those changes in place we awaited moving day. I don't know how to explain how great these guys were. They wrapped our items so nicely in blankets to avoid any damage. They were friendly and personable and way nicer to my 14yr old that kept asking them questions than they had to be. They didn't even grumble when I asked them to rearrange items when they got to the new house because I changed my mind where they should go. Best of all they moved a 300lb safe from a basement to another basement and tried their darnedest to get a standing freezer into the new house basement (unfortunately the logistics just didn't work). Estimate came in a lot lower than we expected too. I would recommend them again in a heartbeat !!!

Items were left behind in closets, kitchen items were missed, and overall there was a lack of attention to detail. We were also told that our toiletries were "too much" and they would not take them, and they refused to take unopened, brand-new laundry detergent. Communication became another major issue. We were notified less than 24 hours in advance that delivery would be taking place at 8:00 a.m. at our new home. We contacted ownership and simply asked if delivery could be moved to noon because my flight was not landing until 9:00 a.m. and my husband would arrive later that day. Instead of working with us, Angie was rude and stated that we already knew when they would be there. That was incorrect -- she appeared to be referring to the packing schedule, not delivery. I explained our travel situation and tried to communicate in advance. The next morning, I received a message stating they were signing paperwork as "customer not present" and leaving the load at the house. To make matters worse, we discovered damage and missing items: * One dresser was damaged * Another dresser was left laying on its side * Our Tempur-Pedic bed arrived missing wires/components * A decorative statue was damaged Moving is stressful enough, and we expected better communication, more care with our belongings, and basic customer service. The cost is cheaper than Pods, and the fees are staggered, which helps out when you're on a budget. You pay half up front and half when the unit is transferred. The unit itself was very high quality, all metal. It was impeccably clean inside, which made me feel good about items like the matress sitting on the floor. I got the largest 8'x15' size, which is supposed to fit 3-4 rooms. I'm a single person, and I had a 2 bedroom house with no appliances. The unit was packed full. I'm not sure I just have more furniture than the average person, but I could have used the commercial unit in retrospect. I was very nervous about the transfer, because when the unit arrived I realized that it would be tilted to about a 45 degree angle when being loaded/unloaded from the truck. I had visions of everything I own being smashed to smitherenes. However, I followed Mobile Maxx's instructions, packed heavy items toward the back, secured things with bungees, and made sure the floor was completely filled -- and the unit arrived at my new house perfectly! Not a single scratch. Finally, I'd like to comment on the customer service. Every time I called the office, I spoke with the same person, which was nice. He was friendly and helpful. The company follows up to confirm the pickup and dropoff dates, so there is no worrying about whether they are going to show up. For both the drop off and the transfer, I also had the same driver. He was friendly, professional, and timely. I would definitely recommend Mobile Maxx to anyone who is moving and looking for an alternative to U-Haul. Why cram all of your moving into 1 day when you can use a mobile storage unit and load/unload it at your leisure? The 30 day date for MM was the same price as 2 days of renting U-Haul. It's a great way to remove some of the stress of moving.
