I've been a customer for about 8 years and have always found the personnel to be accommodating to my changing needs. I've had the pleasure of working with current manager Kathleen Grant for a while and she goes above and beyond to ensure I get the right space I need. She even informed me that I qualified for a senior discount, which I appreciated. I'll say one more thing. I use another local storage facility for vehicle storage. The facility itself and the staff is not up the same standard as Extra Space.

And my unit was on the second floor, so you know they are all over. This place is infested and when I moved out and found the infestation, I called the office and spoke to two people (one was a manager) who were both completely unapologetic and indifferent. Moral of the story is that they know there are rodents and don't care. It is clear they have done nothing to control the problem as no evidence of rodent exclusion and reduction was seen on the grounds. They also closed the one large loading dock to get more storage units in and now a moving truck can't even pull in to unload. This took way longer to move, plus the time it took to clean and disinfect my belongings and had to pitch some stuff as well. I guess they don't care if they inconvenience their customers as long as they can get the maximum rent - which by the way increases almost every month. Plenty of other newer and less gross storage places around. See pics. Edit: "Emily" the Business Manager posted a number to call to get help with this matter. The number so to the front office, where they never pick up the phone and a manager is not present. I called this morning and spoke to two separate people. They don't care and won't help with this situation. Her response is laughable, honestly. It was unit #745 - they have my contact info if they want to help make this right.

The team was so friendly and energetic, they took all of the stress out of the move with their "can do attitude" During the walk through, the team leader was patient as we explained priority items for this first pod. After packing all requested boxes and furniture items from a very full three story home, they were able to get in EVERY other boxed item we had!! I think they were even proud of themselves, as this was the fullest pod they had ever packed and they did it in an amazingly short amount of time!! Our original estimate had been with two movers. The morning of, an extra mover had become available so we accepted the third mover at an extra $89 an hour and still came in considerably below estimate due to their efficiency!! Don't give it a second thought... Badger Brothers are the movers to hire!

He was very informative, helpful, and answered all of my questions. He promptly emailed me a document with all the necessary informtion, cost, and estimate of time it would take for the move. They took great care with my furniture and other items that I added to the move last minute. They even offered to move furniture once placed if I changed my mind on original placement. Their efficiency and customer service were outstanding! They made moving day a lot easier for sure.

My mother had a medical emergency on the day they were supposed to start packing. We called, explained and were offered the next available date. There was no penalty or fee incurred, which was appreciated. They were efficient, quick and although not all boxes are unpacked, we've only had one item with minot damage. Jason, Jacob and Elijah were patient with and kind to my aging and sometimes difficult parents. I would use this company again!

O'Mara Moving & Storage, Inc., 1240 S. Adams Ave., Freeport, IL,…read more picked up, stored and later delivered a Steinway Model B Grand Piano with an appraised value of $42,000. The final move [100 miles] was $1100 on top of the "Climate Controlled" storage bill of $1728. The piano arrived with obvious gouges and damage to the finish on the case and on the inside of the piano I discovered mouse droppings, mold, mildew and rust on the strings. So, not only was it damaged in the move it was further damaged in the so-called "Climate Controlled" storage facility. The piano was in pristine condition when O'Mara Moving & Storage originally picked it up from a residence in Freeport. Repair costs are in the $10,000 - $20,000 range. O'Mara Moving & Storage refused to take any responsibility for the damage so I filed a small claims case in Freeport, IL [as was required because I signed the contract there] where the limit for small claims cases is $10,000. The Judge found that O'Mara Moving & Storage was negligent and ruled in our favor, with the caveat that the check be written not just to me but also to a repair shop - in other words, rather than the damage award going to me personally, the only way for me to get the $8600 was to have it repaired even though I owned it outright and there was no lien [he didn't want me to get a "windfall"]. The award was not even enough to cover all the costs related to the repair [i.e. additional moving expense] so I would have to spend even more money getting it repaired - this on top of the $3100 total paid to O'Mara Moving & Storage for their incompetent, misleading services, and this doesn't even include legal fees incurred. As I understand it O'Mara Moving & Storage is self-insured and their "insurance" company is York Risk Services in Chicago. York is actually a Third Party Administrator which provides claims & legal services to self-insured companies. It was York's lawyers - Knight, Hoppe, Kurnik & Knight, Ltd. of Rosemont, IL - that we had to deal with in small claims court - neither Michael O'Mara or his son Sean even bothered to show up. Bottom line is, BEWARE OF O'MARA MOVING & STORAGE! They are NOT trustworthy.
