The staff are extremely courteous, helpful, and professional. All my questions were addressed up front, and I am confident that I chose the best facility around! The best part for me is the secure loading dock (garage). Even when there are other folks bringing stuff in or out, I don't have to wait more than a few minutes. If I stop by early in the morning or late in the evening, I'm typically done within 5 minutes. It's that easy. I love that the facility is climate controlled (for my own comfort primarily), and I don't have any concerns about safely, knowing that access is strictly monitored. Self Storage 1 gets my highest recommendation. Lakeview and Uptown folks, this is as good as it gets!

The owner claims the issue is being taken care of but the mice never went away as every month I return to my unit and discover new damage! The contract you sign when renting the unit mentions no responsibility of the owner for any damage including damage done by rodents so you will be left on your own to deal with your loss. They offered $10 discount for the next 6 months for me as well as arrange the livers to vacate then disappeared. The staff is friendly but not helpful. Be mindful of this went renting from them!

They offered to put it in storage for me for 175 extra dollars.. I asked when my stuff would leave IL and he wouldn't tell me. My move-in date was on a Friday. The idiots that they contracted to did not deliver till 930 at night on Sunday and wanted the other quarter of the money before I could even see my things in the truck. They left me a box of somebody else's things and I've made attempts to get his phone number. He moved from Chicago to Glendale, Arizona. It's an expensive box of personal fragile things. No one called me.I receive a call from some tool asking me if I had a bunch of paperwork I said no but I have a box of a person's things. He literally said it doesn't interest me and got off the phone.... They didn't take care of the 2 boxes that were marked Fragile and I had some broken items cause they had crushed part of the box... NEVER EVER EVER USE ASHER MOVER!! They are the worst...

This is a review of our experience and is written to avoid some of the pitfalls I've read from…read moreother reviews. #1 Be thorough - For the most part, you are paying per square foot of space on the truck. They are planning out that truck, and the staff to move it, based upon your numbers. If you have even 2 more boxes then estimated for, it causes an issue with space and the price you'll pay. In our case, I provided the measurements for everything we were shipping and added a couple extra boxes to my estimate for good measure. #2 Read the documents. In the case of breakage / damage. Not only did I get the insurance information early, the gentlemen on the morning of our move went over it in detail. Basic included insturance is at $.65# That doesn't cover much of anything. Additional insurance is available to purchase. Yes, I know it sounds kinda shady, but they do not hide the coverage or the cost of it. #3 Be nice. The people showing up for the move are people with a job. They get paid the same regardless of any issues. Have some waters available, be polite to them and appreciate the back breaking work you had no interest in doing yourself. #4 - Be prepared. We had all the boxes stacked in one room and everything cleaned out ready to go. It made it so much easier to count the boxes out and left room for them to prep up our furniture with moving blankets they provided. Also, clear space for them to get in and out without tripping over stuff. If you are living in an apartment buiding as we were, try and reserve space for thier truck. In the end, our move from Wis to Florida went pretty much spot on. Our price was our qouted price. Nothing was damaged, Both teams were very professional and friendly. I only wish they had a way to track our shipment on line so we knew were it was in the process.

We hired 2 people to help us with unloading a 20ft Uhaul that was a bit over 75% full. Carlos and another member of his team arrived promptly at the agreed upon time. Together, they had everything up to our 2nd floor apartment in little over an hour! They were gentle in their handling of our belongings and did their best to move furniture items to the appropriate rooms. The value of this service was well worth it on a hot, hot day. I would gladly call Carlos again and absolutely recommend him to others.

The move could have easily taken the allotted 3 hrs if all the men worked but I ended up having to pay an extra $165 for an extra hour. The man who clearly had seniority was intoxicated. And the other men were irritated with him. He came up to sign me out at 6:25, what should have been a 5 min process was 25 mins because he was disoriented. He was so out of it he mixed up the numbers for my total and dispatch had to tell him that he put it in wrong. He took so long at close out the other movers came in the apt looking for him. I was so uncomfortable because to top it off he basically insisted on a tip and gave me his business card insisting that he would give me a flat rate next time I need to move. I will never use this company again! This was so unprofessional.
