I am writing to formally express my deep disappointment regarding the experience my husband and I had at your restaurant on Saturday March 28th early afternoon. Despite being regulars at many local establishments and arriving well-dressed, we were met with an immediate sense of exclusion. After being seated and receiving bread, we were completely ignored for over twenty minutes. The restaurant was not crowded, and we watched as servers consistently attended to the other three tables while failing to even offer us drinks. The disparity in service was so blatant that it felt as though we were unwelcome due to our background. After waiting an additional five minutes without any acknowledgement, we chose to walk out. We did not receive an apology or any intervention from the staff upon our departure. It is deeply troubling to be treated this way. If certain guests are not welcome in your establishment, I question why we were offered a table in the first place. Had a wonderful birthday dinner with a friend recently at Cucina Biagio. A very enthusiastic piano player, who obviously loved what he was doing, greeted us on entry. We began with an excellent glass of wine suggested by our server Lauren who was so very friendly and pleasant and graciously handled our special requests. We ordered and split the Melanzane Parmegiana, lightly breaded and crisp eggplant parm cooked to perfection and Tagliatelle (sub for spaghetti) & meatballs. The house salad which comes with the dinner was also exactly to my liking. A complementary slice of flowerless very rich dark chocolate cake was presented to me, the birthday girl, more than enough for two people. Fun evening. I'll be back soon! read more

We decided to drive from Naperville to find Superosa Pizza, after trying it at my sister's for a football game. Hands down the best pizza, sauce, thin crust and fresh ingredients. When we arrived at the Superosa, it is part of the restaurant Cucina Biagio. The parking was easy they have a lot adjacent. We walked inside, nice decor, greeted by friendly staff and was seated immediately. The plan was to order pizza, and then we looked at the menu detailing delicious choices. As we viewed the menu we were brought, freshly baked bread accompanied by olive oil and parmesian for dipping. It was soft, warm and delicious. Lauren our waitress, was very polite and offered the specials, and was very enthusiastic about the foods quality. We ordered the Mussels with garlic and olive oil along with the Aracini. The Mussels were fresh, not frozen served with grilled bread. The Aracini were lightly breaded and fried, stuffed with sausage & peas, served with freshly made marinara. Lauren continued to check on us ensuring we were enjoying our food and providing refills for our drinks. The entrees come with soup or salad. We ordered the Lobster ravioli (So good) with vodka sauce; we are not fans of Vodka sauce. Lauren stated, it is a wonderful sauce and offered a sample. She was not wrong, the sauce was amazing. We also ordered the chicken parmesian, this came with penne pasta and fresh sauce. The chicken was breaded perfectly and so moist. I usually order this as a test for Italian restaurants and this by far is above the rest. Because the pizza was what we came for we ordered a 14" uncut half baked, cheese and sausage to take home, and a piece of Tiramisu. BTW as Lauren stated the Tiramisu was great. It was so fresh, and exquisitely balanced! To the owner, thank you for providing fresh ingredients and the staff to care about the service they are providing. Lauren is a great asset and very passionate about your resturant. We will definitely be returning, happy to make the 1hr + drive. Ordered for pick up today. The food was ready in great time and when I arrived everyone was very nice and welcoming and had the food ready to go waiting. The portions are great and definitely don't leave you hungry. I ordered the Penne Arrabiata and my husband ordered the chicken Marsala. I celebrated my mom's 90th birthday at Cucina Biagio . The Lara banquet room was the perfect size for my 30 guests. We were able to talk and hear each other, the lighting was perfect, and the staff helped me set up my decorations for the party!! The food was excellent. It came out piping hot, and since I had family style they continued to come around and replenish dishes. The service was impeccable!!! All my guest said it was one of the nicest venues they had been to and that they really enjoyed the food and would come back to eat at the restaurant. MUSHY PASTA!! I lived in the neighborhood for 50 years. Went to Biagio's back in the day when it was very good. What happened? Haven't gone there in about 3 years because the last time I went it wasn't so good. Well, I just recently went there a month ago and decided I no longer like it. Had chicken parmesan. Mostaccioli was so mushy. Almost like it was a day old or sitting in water. Not fresh. If it was fresh, it was over cooked. Mushy. Plus, you get a very small portion of pasta. How much is pasta? Any good Italian restaurant fills your plate with pasta. Well, decided to go back with the family for Easter. What was I thinking??? I kind of already knew what to expect. MUSHY Pasta. Please Biagio's fire your cooks!!! Every good chef knows pasta should be FRESH and firm to the tooth. It's not hard to make pasta, just do it right. Pasta must be freshly cooked. Plus their gravy (sauce) is horrible. They really need new staff. For Easter we needed to ask our waiter 4 times for more parmesan cheese. Plus we asked the bus boy 3 times. NO CHEESE!!! Our minestrone soup came and went with no cheese. We asked for butter 3 times. The cheese and butter finally came after I pointed out to the waiter how many times we asked for cheese and butter. The restaurant was only half full. Why such bad service? I'm an Italian girl, raised eating pasta every Sunday, Hire me!! I'll show you how to do pasta and gravy. So many better Italian restaurants out there. Try Venuti's. So good. They know how to make pasta. Spent $168 on 3 people. Such a waste of money. My brother spent over $200 and that was including a plate of gnocchi that my niece didn't even touch because it tasted horrible. Would have been nice to get a credit for that untouched dish. I held my daughter's baby shower here and what a wonderful experience! it was a smooth process from reserving the room, selecting the menu and working with the friendly staff. The party room was the perfect size and the staff was accommodating with extra tables for desserts and gifts. The food was amazing and plentiful! The pastas were delicious, and they came and huge portions, which made it so great, because we were able to take some home. Each main entrée comes with a house, soup or salad, which is perfect! The server was really nice and had a really good pace for us, and when we needed the food to come out. However, their drinks were not good at all. We ordered a Manhattan in the old fashion, which can tell you a lot about a restaurant, and how they can make their drinks. We ended up sticking with beer. Next time, we will order a couple bottles of wine to check it out, but the wine selection wasn't really broad. The restaurant was pretty empty, which made us a little bit worried, but then I see that they do overcharge on the pasta, especially being outside of Chicago. They are downtown restaurants. They charge way less and are in downtown. However, the ambience was really nice. It wasn't bright. It was perfect for a family dinner. We tried their desserts as well, which were OK. I was greeted by one of the managers and was seated promptly. I ordered an egggplant appetizer, soup and main course porkchop and roasted potatoes and everything was a perfect temperature , and the porchops were tender. The menu offers authentic Italian and reminds me of my nonnas cooking. The service was incredible. My waiter Taras checked in with me and my guest several times to ask me if I needed anything and we never felt rushed. Great atmosphere. Lots of parking in private parking lot. Really great restaurant. I can't say enough about it. I've never had anything bad here. On different occasions we've gotten: 1. Lasagna (best I've ever tasted) 2. Spaghetti Bolognese (hubby finished the whole plate...which never happens) 3. Breaded veal with mash(usually comes with pasta but I asked and they happened to have some garlic mash on hand. 4. Chicken Piccata (my word, this was above and beyond good) 5. Chicken Vesuvio (even better than La Villas and that's saying a lot) 6. Vodka sauce mostaciolli. With the bread. Yes and yes. 7. Spaghetti Marinara. The best Marinara anywhere. Perfect bite. Not sweet Luke other places. 8. And every soup they make...every one of them are worthy. 9. Pizza. A solid 9 and crispy. And their table bread? Comes to the table perfectly warm and melts in your mouth. Never had bread this good before. It's the kind of bread you fill up on because you don't want to stop eating it. We are regulars here.. if you can say such a thing. Twice a month & regulars with delivery. Today we went around 3-3:30pm.. it was clear they had a couple big parties going on... they should have just turned us away! I would respect them so much more ( and return) had they been honest & said were booked with private event. BUT, they chose to seat us:(. HORRIBLE from beginning to end. Our server was very nice , not her fault this happened! Snail pace service, cold soup.., entree not worth the price .. sea bass on special.. we weren't told price ( fine normally) .. small portion arrived meh at most .. $55! Come on. We won't be back! Out here for the first time for a team lunch. A great place for pasta for sure. I'm sure there are more items on the menu but all of us had chosen pasta as entree. Penne with Vodka sauce, shrimp with spaghetti, mine is Isaac's - rigatoni with spicy tomato sauce. Shared Calamari grilled and Fried. Myself liked Grilled Calamari more. Bread was served with olives, olive oil and cheese. All really good. My tasty rigatoni has tiny clams which add some chewiness with noodle and tomato. Portion was pretty large so I could save half for next day lunch. Services were great. Our waitress was very attentive and warm. A great place for the Italian pasta craving. read more

Unsatisfied with my seafood pasta from another establishment last week, I treated myself to Cucina's since I had a pleasant experience a few months ago. My cup of pasta e fagioli was very tasty. The soup was probably simmered all day with the right seasonings. I wish it was served a bit hotter but I enjoyed very much. I took a moment to enjoy the sight of my pasta con pesce before digging in. The chef did a fabulous job with the pasta and the presentation. It was perfectly done. My server, Armando, gave me a table with a view. He was very friendly, attentive but not intrusive and made sure everything was done to my liking. On a regular day, this place is on point ! Yesterday (Christmas Eve ) not so much ! My mom called over a week ahead of time to make a reset for 5 people for 5:30 and asked if it was going to be a Christmas menu or the regular menu . They said it's the regular menu . We went here for Christmas Eve a few years ago with a Christmas menu and it wasn't too great . We arrived at 5:20 only to find they never made our reservation, but they put a table together for us so it worked out ok . There was a party of 4 next to us that was waiting an hour for their food , their server took their order and disappeared?!? We started to talk to the table and they too asked about the menu and were also told it was going to be the regular menu. I'm not sure why they were lying to people ?! Lying to get people in the door ? The manager / owner was so rude to the family , telling them to go home bc they wanted their order canceled and the salads wrapped up bc they wanted to leave . I'm not sure what they did for them as far and making their wrong right but I felt very bad for them . It's not like you can get up and go to another restaurant, it's Christmas Eve !! Our waiter on the other hand was very nice and was on point . Our food was good, I was going to get something else they had on their menu but was not on the Christmas menu but went w what we had , again , we were lied to about the menu but not like we can go to another restaurant with no reservation! I have been here several times the last few years, and have always been satisfied. I was there today with a group of about 14. It was extremely disappointing, the waiter asked if anyone wanted appetizers, we didn't even have menus. He disappeared and came back almost 10 minutes later with only about 8 menus and asked again about appetizers before we even had a chance to look at the menu. It was probably a good 20 minutes before he took our orders almost at 1, we arrived at noon. I ordered the chicken Parmesan which was delicious, however the pasta needed more sauce. Salads came out in a timely fashion, but it was a good 15 minutes before the entree came. The lady next to me had uncooked pasta, it was hard and crunchy. Our hostess ordered cannoli for everyone for dessert, I will say at least that came out fast. When the checks came he made 3 trips to get them. When we paid he took each bill individually going back and forth to the table. There were at least 3 or 4 other groups today, but not enough wait staff. What a gem of a restaurant. We dined here for New Year's Eve on a whim, we wanted to stay close to home but also wanted a nice meal. Cucina Biagio was the perfect spot for that. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered from a pre fix menu for NYE and our son really enjoyed the music. He even got out on the "dance floor" and busted some moves. Not what I expected. Came with 17 people for a funeral luncheon that was $852. That's alot! Bar bill $250 after we stated that the tables should be told its a cash bar. The menu was not right. Family style but handing the platters to the next person was quite a heavy feat! I ordered green beens almondine, no almonds sautéed and I mentioned it, came raw in small bowls. They were told its a cash bar yet the waiter came in and took alcohol orders at each table. At that plp my sister and I couldn't tell our guests otherwise. It was embarrassing. Then my son and daughter had to have a special entree for their dietetic needs but were not asked. When ai got to their table it was too late. Obviously this was not planned to our needs. Avoid the pizza!!!!! Menu is a "hidden" one. Should have realised that it is not front and center because they are embarrassed by it. Had the vegetable one. Came on a wheat crust. Incompetent customer service and basic restaurant operation. Second time I've had an issue of putting in an order and either not getting my food at all or having it come 4+ hours late. The last order that came that late was cancelled within 5 minutes of me putting it in through them due to the restaurant being too busy to fulfill the order. Cool -- no problem, however why is there some guy ringing my bell in the middle of the night many many hours after the order was not only put in but cancelled? They called me the following day to apologize and offer some sort of voucher. I declined the voucher wishing them well and hoping they stay in business during these difficult times. Fast forward to the next order...that I never got. Ordered through Grubhub and was provided an ETA via email and text message. ETA came and went, called restaurant which didn't answer and had no voice mail option let alone automated message even stating the business of operation hours. So, awesome, could have microwaved a burrito and went to bed 1+ hour earlier than waiting for food that was never going to come then having the pleasure of my refund for what was never purchased tied up for 3-5 business days. Received a lovely phone call 8 hours after my cancelled order never arrived by Elizabeth who was beyond confused as to how any of this could happen while offering no apology whatsoever. Thanks, you wasted an hour of my life for no reason...no need to even offer a fake apology let alone a real one. Gold star on that customer service! You can easily do better in quality and service within walking distance of this place. Stay away unless they figure out how to do the basics, because the basics are well beyond them. read more

Normally I don't do reviews, but saw the need to write this one. I had the opportunity to attend an event by a good friend of mine. I have no complaints of the service or the food as the men who were the waiters did such a good job. My biggest problem is when a see a manager not know how to handle her stress and degrade the workers/ team members. I was with a friend and we witnessed how on more than two occasions she would fault the waiters. Someone asked the manager for a lemon sorbet and the waiter didn't know who ordered it and left it at the main center table. When someone asked for it the manager responded to the guest with "it's cause I have to deal with stupid people." There were other comments made that I don't want to mention. I thanked the workers as I know they were doing their best. I don't condone managers belittling their workers, especially when you are saying mean comments in front of them. As a manager, you are expected to lead and know how to be a team player. Based on her behavior it gives me an outlook of how her workers are treated and I wouldn't support that. I wouldn't bring my family or friends to this place as I truly value hardworking employees. She needs training on how to work as a team member. I wish my experience was different as I am looking for a venue for my gender reveal and baby shower. But I crossed this one off. read more
