Here today! Slop…read moremess! If it was up to me they would receive 1 star, the others in my group says the food was ok. 1. WHO'S freakin idea was it to grind the shrimp, crab meat and crawfish and make an enchilada stuffing!!!!??I wanted to be like Top Chef and take the plate and throw it back at the chef!! Daaaa BLEEP! 2. WHO'S idea was it to take charro beans and mush/puree them to make refried beans??!!! It was my Latino male chaperone who noticed that. 3. WHO'S idea was it to serve me THEN charge for 5 day ole pico de gallo!! How I know it was that old was because of the consistency of the vegetables, I make bean salad and I know the taste and look of the tomatoes, onions etc when I haven't eaten within 3 days! 4. They called ahead, gave a head count and only had 1 waitress for 30 people. 5. Let me also mention, UP CHARGE on an Arnold Palmer and NO FREE REFILL for it! I'm sure the reason this restaurant is still in business is because they are directly off the highway therefore passersby's are clueless. A dad of one of the players suggests go deep into the city and that's where the authentic Mexican food is and we would have been better off eating at Harts Buffet that next door. We giggled because EVERYONE knows Harts Buffet hits da hunger spot. He ordered potatoes, eggs and bean because he knew better. I'm done...dropping the mic!! The building is a regular looking house and has a drive through. You can eat inside, but we just wanted to take it home. The lady at the window was very friendly and they even got my order correct. NO CILANTRO ha ha. I had the loco box which was 1 open Birria taco, 2 rolled Birria tacos and 2 closed birria tacos. It came with hot sauces and onions, cilantro, limes, and consommé. The open and closed tacos were on corn tortillas and the rolled were flour. Every single one was amazing. The meat had an awesome flavor and the consommé was wonderful as well. I also had a side of their street taco elote in a bowl. Yummy yummy I wish now that I had taken pictures, but it had been a crazy busy 2 days. I will definitely get pics next time. My mood was instantly lifted and I sat down at a booth near the window. Place was clean. Service was excellent, with no long wait times. The friendly waiter was attentive and gladly shared his personal recommendations. I was impressed with the entire menu. Not only do they offer classic Mexican dishes, but they have come up with many of their own culinary masterpieces. It was hard to choose, but I finally went with the Taco Salad. Fresh, flavorful, well-presented cuisine with generous portions to boot! They have perfected their house-made chips and salsa. I ordered a slice of cake to go.
