The price that was listed on the shelf was 29 euros. After purchasing the card and leaving the store, I realized that I had paid over 70 euros! I immediately returned and told a young man in the back of the store that the card was the incorrect price and that I needed to return it. He took the card and gave me a printed paper in french that I did not understand. I asked in french if he needed my credit card and he said no. I waited weeks for the charge to be reversed. Eventually I contacted my credit card company. Darty has contested the charge. So I paid an exorbitant price for an item that I don't even posses! ------- Ce magasin m'a volé près de 100 $. For us city-folk who use Metro lines 2 and 6 as invisible boundaries for our lives, Conforama at Pont Neuf is a no-brainer for furniture and household items. Found an amazing dining room table here. Service? A bit slow and sketchy, but hey, ici c'est France. :-) Velib station right around the corner from the store, for when you are brave enough to ride a bike and carry folding chairs in the basket, one handed. Not that I know anyone crazy enough to do that in Paris traffic.

After waiting for another 15 min there, they told me the internet purchases can only be cancelled through their website. I came home, opened up the store website and could not find any record of my purchase! I called the customer hotline and after waiting for 10-15 min for an operator, i finally hanged up. Luc was our guide and chef, and did a really great job. We enjoyed shopping for ingredients at the market just a few blocks away from the Le Foodist kitchen. Once back to the kitchen, Luc gave us the run down of what we would be making. Instructions were clear, and we all worked together to put a 3 course lunch together. I even learned a few cool new techniques such as a simple "sous vide" by tightly wrapping chicken in plastic wrap and cooking in hot water. Fun, educational and delicious. They offer a variety of different classes and I would highly recommend when visiting Paris.

The fish are all labeled as to where caught & manner caught. La Fromagerie was amazing. We took the metro and a short walk to Le Foodist store where the cooking magic happened. We made onion soup, potatoes so gratin, something similar to a Coq au Vin, a pear with chocolate ganache and vanilla bean ice cream. It was an amazing evening. The cooking class was definitely a working class. The whole time & totally worth it. The food was so good. The chef was awesome. Would definitely recommend this experience & would definitely do it again.
