I had found out about this place through a which said it was a "can't miss" spot in Prague. One morning, soon after they opened I was able to peak my head in, sit down and grab a bite. The interior of the cafe is absolute beautiful and flows well. There's a wonderful ambiance, especially earlier in the morning when the trams are driving by but the city isn't too crowded yet. Taking a peak at all the pastries on display, I decided to opt for a Prague Ball, an espresso, and their Buchtičky se šedó. The Prague Ball was good. A small portion but it had such a rich filling that was delicious. The espresso also tasted great. The Buchtičky was the biggest dish's by far and how delicious it was. I usually do not begging the morning with too many sweets but it was so filling, yet didn't leave me crashing soon after. Every bite was so good and drenched in cream and strawberries was so good. All in all, the staff was so incredibly kind here and the food was great. One of the first cafes I tried in Prague and it set the tone really well. If you're looking for some nice ambiance and solid food, this is a wonderful stop to make in Prague. read more

Just like a lot of places, located in a historical building with a very classic decor, a big coffee pastry bar in the middle, you order from the cashier. Folks at the cashier were helpful with pointing out whats popular and what they are proud of. Ordered the custard with brioche pieces in it ( first item in the sladky bar menu) and the krupicova kase. Custard was not overwhelmingly sweet which is good and was a great touch to have brioche pieces in them, cake was great with some liquor in it. I wish my assam tea was a bit hotter, but overall good local experience. Ended up paying 590 czk for all, a bit on the pricey side read more

This pastry shop in the Kavárna Lucerna has a long history that dates back to prior to the Communist takeover of what was then Czechoslovakia. Traded out of the family, it's now operated by a new pastry chef and he does a great job. We had a variety of pastries as dessert. This was the last stop on our food tour and all five were wonderful. I think I liked the meringue one that had the hard chocolate outside the best but hard to choose. Excellent hot chocolate served with real whipped cream (none of that canned stuff) to add. Yummy! We came here after an amazing meal not too far at Kantyna. We were super stuffed, but whenever I get together with my pals that live in Prague we GO HARD with the food. This place is super cute and you will probably walk right by without even looking twice. You really have to not judge a book by its cover and go upstairs to be amazed! The inside is so beautiful and they have the best marble all over with the most amazing chandelier. I was awestruck because you really don't expect it from outside or even until you walk upstairs. They have a ton of desserts. We ordered one of the more traditional Czech liquors ( was not a fan) and one of their pastries that essentially is a cannoli (sorry, can't remember the name for the life of me). We apparently had a major craving for ice cream post eating a farm of animals at Kantyna and checked out their sundaes. SUPER WORTH IT. I also ordered a lemon ginger tea to help digest all the food and even that was just unreal. You must look this place up if you're in Prague and GO! read more

This was the very FIRST Cukrárna (pastry shop) I visited in Prague, and it was very good! I was impressed from the time I walked in and viewed the beautiful interior. I came to Mysak full from brunch but just love that they have mini and kid-size options for things I felt I couldn't leave Prague without trying. The veltrnik is to die for and I'm happy I got to try the fruit dumplings. My bill for a mini veltrnik, kids fruit dumplings, and iced coffee came out to 188 czk. Beautiful atmosphere inside as well. The cafe is actually located upstairs in the shopping center (2nd floor). We came in for a late breakfast. They take reservations online, but it didn't seem necessary mid morning on a weekday. The inside is quite spacious with high ceilings, cute marble tables, and a kind of French feel. They have coffee, teas, and wine. Water is complimentary. Breakfast foods: - Mysak breakfast: open faced ham sandwich (egg salad, ham, hard boiled egg), soft-boiled egg in a glass with chives, marble cake (like a less dense pound cake), poppyseed rolls. The apricot jam was great - intense and unsweetened - Soft boiled eggs in a glass with cheese, good with their rye bread. Eggs were perfectly cooked. It was on the more expensive side for the area but pretty cheap by San Francisco standards. Everyone spoke English, and the menu had English. Credit cards accepted. read more

A charming pastry-shop in the hearth of Prague. The interior is set in the times of the First Republic. It's simple, effective, pleasantly illuminated and cozy. Orders and payments are made directly at the cash desk. Desserts are traditional and simply amazing. You can't make mistake with any of them. They offer a good coffee and some pastries too. I like this place, it's children friendly although prices are a little bit higher. The quality is indisputable. I heard that the second floor is amazing but I haven't been there. This pattiserie is quite famous as it has a long history and thanks to it it's well-known by the locals. It re-opened a few years back and the design of the place is nice and stylish but for me the golden ages of this place are gone. The cakes are quite nice and so is their ice cream, but when it comes to coffee and service these are of rather poor quality. The staff is usually slow and not very friendly and it has already happened to me a couple of times that I got something else from what I ordered. I do kind of like this place as it's centrally located and the interior is nice but the quality of the service could definitely be improved. read more

Very delicious breakfast! We left our hotel and found this place. My omelette was cooked perfectly great flavor. The bread was all freshly baked. Our fruit juice was fresh. The oatmeal was sweetened with some kind of fruit purée which made it sweet enough where I didn't have to add sugar! A very nice patisserie with a view to Vodickova street if you get a table at the window on the first floor. Decent variety of cakes and other desserts. The cakes are good, other desserts I haven't tried yet, but noticed that the Crème brûlée covered with big fresh strawberries looks amazing. The choice of drinks is also sufficient. They even offer warm milk for 20 Kc (the only other place where I found hot milk in Prague was Cafe-Cafe) and an interesting hot pear drink with cinnamon. This place has high ceilings and the tables are not too close to each other, so it gives a feeling of having enough space even when there are many people. The place is also nicely decorated responding to its long history (the confectionery was opened since 1911). read more

I had a really bad and unprofessional experience with the staff! I ordered two cups of berry tea (strawberry, blueberry etc) for my boyfriend and I, but we got cherry (and we don't like cherry), but we just thought that the staff accidently gave us the cherry tea so we didn't want to bother them. My boyfriend ordered also a sundae, but instead of ice-cream (three scoops of ice-cream) he got just can-whipped cream, which was so disappointing. Well, when we get our check, the sum is much higher than we expected, but I pay anyway and THEN i realize that the two teas are two times more expensive! I tell the staff and they say "Well, we don't have the tea you wanted so we gave you another one, our manager told us to do so when someone orders that tea", and points on another one in a different menu. I thought they were kidding, but they weren't, so I asked for the money back I paid extra. After on half an hour I get to speak to a guy who says that they can't give me money back, forgetting that what they did was illegal. Eventually i get my 90 czk back in 5-coins, in a rude and very unprofessional way. I will never go back here. I only signed up here to warn other people and to make a difference at this café, because it isn't the first time something like this happened to me at Cukrárna Mysák. read more
