Jerk Chicken. Cold, stale, and got less than what I paid for
    Mohammad G.

Food was cold, stale, lower in quantity than what I paid for, and tasted terrible. I ordered 16oz of chicken, and as soon as the food arrived I could tell the chicken did not weigh 16oz. So I put it on a food scale and it showed that I received 13oz instead of 16oz. I was hungry so I tried eating it right away and it was not only cold, but it also tasted like left overs from days ago. The jerk chicken did not even taste like jerk chicken, it was rotisserie chicken with sauce on the side. Luckily I got full refund from Uber Eats. I will never order from here ever again.

I'm Caribbean and I enjoyed this food so much. It could use a tiny bit of pepper but it was so good.

I had that "Jersey Meat" (Taylor ham or pork roll, whatever you call it) egg and cheese but I'm happy I listened to the owner here and also got the Chopped Cheese. This breakfast sandwich was stellar but the Chopped Cheese was very possibly the best one I've ever had. The Jersey meat had a hard sear to it, which I love. Plenty of meat, cheese, and eggs on a fresh hard (Kaiser) roll. I got it with just pepper. Jersey meat is salty enough on its own and I typically don't rock ketchup with eggs. This would have been awesome with a splash of hot sauce though. Great sandwich. The chopped cheese was the hero here though. This was on a fresh jersey long roll and the seasoning in the meat was fantastic. Best seasoned ground beef I've probably ever had for a chopped cheese. Plenty of cheese, the roll, and the toppings were all very complimentary. The sauce is great on this as well. I got that extra drizzle overtop and I'm pumped I did. I had a side of it as well and trust me, I used it. Do not pass on this sandwich if you come here. The owner here is awesome, the food is great, plenty of parking on the streets around the business in a residential area, and the price is right. Salt Pepper Ketchup - Didn't Suck!

Ordered 2 oxtail meals, 2 fried chicken meals, a chicken pasta, order of plantains & 2 detox drinks. The chicken pasta was good; it was definitely the best tasting out of what we ordered. The chicken wasn't cut off of the bone as I had expected it to be but, once I pulled everything apart & mixed it all together, it was tasty. The oxtail was just ok, not the flavoring I'm used to but edible. Because the oxtail gravy was poured over the rice (on all dishes), the rice wasn't the best either; cabbage was fine. The fried chicken had no flavor surprisingly & wasn't crispy. I wasn't able to sub the rice for french fries which may have made the meal better. Plantains only included 5 pieces but they tasted fine. Detox drinks tasted as expected. I mentioned I called my order in - it took a total of 44 minutes from the time I placed the call to when the food was ready, just to give an idea of how long it takes to make your food so, don't show up early!

Owner Ralston, Manager Bianca and the cooks welcomed me into their take out restaurant where I indulged in a variety of homemade dishes. Pina Colada : The frozen, slushy drink with a splash of rum chilled me to the core. It was quite refreshing; and if you are under 21, you can always have a virgin pina colada. Oxtail Beff Patty: This patty was stuffed with both tender oxtail and beef while the flaky, outer crust had a light crunch. Oxtail with Mac and Cheese: Of course, I can never get enough oxtail, which is why I couldn't resist having it as a platter. The macaroni and cheese was loaded with cheddar and quite cheesy. Jerk Chicken: The juicy jerk chicken has the perfect combination of fire and heat. You can never get enough jerk sauce with one of my favorite Jamaican entrees. Feel free to lavishly pour the jerk sauce on the entire plate; and save room for the cabbage. As a bonus, this location also has a Jamaican market where you can purchase freshly made juices, frozen beef patties, and homemade ice cream with unique flavors ranging from coconut to grapenut. As another bonus, there is a fancy dining area with a bar and lounge. Feel free to show up for date night or the room can be rented out as an event space for parties, anniversaries or other memorable events. I had a truly great experience exploring this take out spot. When I next return, I'm spicing it up to explore the fancy dining hall. #Culcha #caribbeancuisine #jamaicanfood #pinacolada #patty #oxtailbeefpatty #jerkchicken #eats #foodreview #localspots #njfoodie #foodstagram

The pernil was honestly some of the best I've ever had, and I've eaten a lot of pernil because it's one of my favorite foods. It was incredibly tender and seasoned to perfection. Even the skin was delicious and packed with flavor. I'm usually not a fan of vegetables mixed into rice since a lot of restaurants use frozen veggies, and I prefer fresh ones. But the rice was so good that I could have eaten it by itself. It was a thicker long-grain rice, not sticky at all, and it paired perfectly with the pernil. The empanadas were amazing too. Next time I'll have to get there earlier because they sell out pretty fast. I even made sure to save some leftovers for the next day because I was already craving it. Honestly, I'm craving it right now while writing this review. Unfortunately, I forgot to take any photos.

We were greeted by a woman who apparently doesn't know how to smile. She proceeded to tell us this is a take-out restaurant. But we saw plenty of nice tables so we asked if we can buy our food and sit down. She said yes so we ordered. I got the lunch special of oxtail, yellow rice and beans and ordered a side of Tostones. Scooped up my food with an impression like she just dreaded to be at work. It comes with a bottle of water or soda. The food was lukewarm. It was served lunchroom style. Anyway, the food was fine. There's a clean restroom there. However, the feeling you get is one of being UNWELCOMED here. I saw 3 staff. No one seemed happy. I am giving it 3 stars for atmosphere and 3 stars for lukewarm food.
