Beautiful and wonderful market for all of your spontaneous homeware and cookware splurges while…read moreyou're browsing the CIA at Copia. Everything here is so beautifully laid out and displayed, you'll have (silly) aspirations of becoming an executive chef at some point. Prices are definitely a bit on the higher side, but the selection and quality is top notch. The teaching/test kitchen upstairs is sponsored by Hestan, so there are a lot of Hestan cookware and hardware available in the store (search Reddit for more discussion). Overall, great selection and fun to browse.

I put an item back after looking at it and it fell off the stand. This wasn't something that could break easily but it slid off the small stand it was sitting on. The lady said this place isn't for profit and if you break an item you buy it. Then she kept going as if it wasn't an accident and stated "that's why we have don't touch signs in the store". Umm where? There were no signs. We picked up an item because we were interested in buying it. Mind you, this item was a $600 copper mold which we WERE intended on buying! We left immediately after this which was extremely disappointing. I wish I got her name but her customer service was horrible. She should not be working in customer service. Afterwards my blood was boiling from our experience that I wanted to come back later after more shopping to quote the movie Pretty Women "big mistake, big, huge!" Early today we were at their sister store in St. Helena and the experience was completely different, they were extremely helpful and very friendly. Don't shop at CIA at Copia, make the little extra journey and shop the one at St. Helena.

What a fantastic tour by Mashav (the owner and the chef of Le Couloir)! Richmond neighborhood in SF…read moreis known for its mix of cultures, but Mashav masterfully uncovers all the hidden secrets and gems - Secrets only someone who lives in this community is familiar with. And she does that through food and hand-picked dishes that you will never uncover without a guide. Even though locations may change per tour, our group tasted a mix of cultures and got some stories behind the dishes, the restaurants, and their owners. Few examples - * Russian cuisine - Herring with a pickled onion on fresh bread * Indian street food - I was surprised how much I enjoyed this vegan street snack - I would have never ordered anything without meat, and I dislike spinach, but the fried spinach snack was mind-blowingly good. * Mexican - Quesadilla with plantain. Again, no meat but it was soooooo good. * Chinese - Glazed Pork and pork-filled bun I won't spoil the surprise for some of the other locations. And more, and more - Total of about 7-8 places. You won't stay hungry, guaranteed. The walk itself is not challenging; there are no hills to overcome, even though it's San Francisco. Don't wait - Just go!
