Update - well, after my praise yesterday based on more than two years of coming here, today's order was pushed out to me with glaring errors and when I returned it to the counter for correction Mary, a young woman at the counter with red dyed hair copped an attitude, which I chaulked up to perhaps from the crush of people and orders this evening. Still, the average of getting things right here is above 90% so these errors don't make my praise any less, but I feel compelled to recommend you check any to go order before heading home, just as you need to at McDonald's and other places. No a huge deal, but then again my order not well checked to prevent errors and a big waste of food because of it, which will result in higher costs for customers ultimately. Here they are, I asked for 4 packets of malt vinegar and 4 cocktail sauce in lieu of the tarter sauce and butter. What I received was 4 tarter sauce and 8 butter pats. I asked for onion in my chili and got 4 bags of soup type crackers and 4 packets of horseradish sauce. Mary, clearly unhappy, made the fixes and told me they didn't have any malt vinegar so that was the only thing I would have to live without. All of the wrong items, Mary threw in the trash, I assume there is some company or health policy that considers the unopened, unused, still in the store condiments given to me less than 5 minutes prior contaminated because I touched it, but not contaminated when a store employee (ungloved) places it in my bag. What a waste of food items and money that the franchise and company will initially incur but I know will result in higher prices for consumers in the near future. read more

The food is always good here but it always takes longer than other locations. I travel for work and visit Culver's locations in various cities in 7 states, and this one appears to be understaffed. On this visit I ordered Curdside pickup. I waited for several minutes after checking the "I'm here" text. Finally I decided to go inside to pick up my order. There were several people waiting for their orders, and some dine-in customers were coming to the counter to ask about their food. The employees were working fast and efficiently, but it was definitely understaffed. When I finally received my order the custard was melted, so it had been sitting for some time. If you are looking for the good old Culver's experience, this is NOT the location for you. The entire crew wasn't able to take the order, make the order, or serve the order which consisted of 2 concrete mixes. The hiring manager of this location as well as the staff should be seriously reevaluated. Do not take the exit for this Culver's, it's not worth the trip. read more

I purchased a fish sandwich from this restaurant yesterday and the fish was old. It was just reheated in the oil and as bit down the grease, ran all the way down my the front of my shirt and ruined my favorite shirt. My experience here was like never before and not in a good way. First we order are food it took 10-15 minutes to get our food. We got 4 kids meals, what took forever because we get home and all there are is cheese curds in our bags. We check all the other bags No Burger I understand if it was one but excuse me all 4 meals no burger. I should not have to check to make sure there is food. We call and they said "Oh sorry we got distracted" what is that supposed to mean? I've never had a bad experience here until today. Culver's in Crown Point, Indiana was great! The food is the same as any Culver's. This review is about the people. From the time we walked in, they had a greeter keeping people social distanced and guided you to the available register to take our order. The kid taking our order was nice, but it was the lady walking around greeting you at the table making sure we had everything we needed. She brought us some extra shrimp sauce my wife asked for and she came back just after we got our food with some other extra sauces and an extra plate because we were sharing some of our food. She just came around again to ask how things are and is bringing a to go box for our leftovers. Her name is Nicole and she is the Assistant Manager. I hope the manager sees this. I love the food at Culver's, I usually order from the drive thru, very easy to view items on the screen menu. Food looks as good as what's in the picture. I love the chicken tenders, so tender and juicy, the cheese curds are like no other and if you enjoy great ice cream, this is your kind of place as well! My mom and I stopped at this Culver's when I was home and it was a wonderful experience. The customer service was excellent and they didn't give us issues for both ordering kids meals, which was really refreshing. I have missed good Midwest burgers so I was so excited my cheeseburger was so awesome. East Coast burgers just aren't the same. The food is delicious. However, if you do not receive what you ordered and paid for what good does it do you whether the food is delicious or not. I once ordered 2 cheese curds that I did not receive . The loss was over$6. By the time I got back to the office and sat down to eat, it was to late. Who is going to spend another hour trying to correct a $6 loss. I tried the Roast beef basket for the 1st time and have to say it was delicious. My only request would be some kind of sauce offering. Sandwich is dry without au jus or BBQ sauce. Their onion rings are not my favorite hence the 4 stars. Service and cleanliness were both great. Their unsweetened tea seemed fresh and your standard black tea. Quick service for our group of 4. In a nutshell: Midwest fast food chain that specializes in "Butter burgers" and Frozen Custard. Since Culver's doesn't exist in Southern California, I always make sure to grab some when I visit. They recently opened up this spot on Summit, which is a lot closer to us than driving to Merrilville. Parking 5/5 Plenty in this strip mall Ambience N/A We did drive-thru Food 3/5 I was a bit disappointed with the quality of the burgers this time around. Butter Burger with Cheese - B Normally very juicy, my butter burger this time around was a bit dry, and I wasn't all too impressed. Turtle Sundae - A Using their flavor of the day, Peanut Butter Cup, this sundae was great. Custard is a richer form of ice cream, and I definitely only need it once or twice a year. Overall 3/5 Great custard, but I was disappointed with the dryness of the butter burger. I'll be back next year, though. read more

We're driving back to IL from vacation and needed to stop so randomly stopped here and so glad we did! This is the cleanest Culver's I've ever been to!!! And if you have an infant this is the best place to come to. Clean bathroom with baby hanging station that is stocked with liners for changing diapers. High chairs that are clean with a cute bib and hand wipe. Of course the food was delicious, great service and fast. But after being the car for the past 10 hours with an infant finding a clean place to stop is amazing!!! read more

This is one of my worst experiences going out to eat. The two ladies on cashier duty did not greet my family when we walked into the restaurant and proceeded to hold an unhappy "I want to kill myself" face. As soon as I walked up to order the food the older lady continued to make rude remarks about me ordering too quickly for her (even though it was two things). I ordered a single butter burger, she then asked me if I wanted everything on it. I said yes. She then said "cheese included?" I said yes. I go sit down wait for my food. Look at the receipt and THE DANG LADY RANG ME UP FOR A DOUBLE BUTTERBURGER! NO WONDER IT COST ME SO MUCH. Horrible place. I went here expecting decent quality, quick, hot/fresh, affordable. So keep your expectations in mind- it is a fast food place. Yes. It's fast food. But ... It still deserves five stars- and here's why: The good stuff: holy cow- how did they manage to find such a great group of young, hard-working, friendly servers? I've never see anything like it- from the greeters, to the girl I placed my order with, to the boy bussing tables- smiles and pride in their work showed. Spotless inside and out- that never happens in fast food. They even gave our dog a mini cup of ice cream on the house before we left. Large fry on drive up sign says $2.59 --same price as Valparaiso store. Bill says $3.59- only thing ordered. Other complaints about prices at Crown point also on yelp about cones. Crown point begging for charity money. I guess they decide for you and add a $1 to your bill. Will only go to Valparaiso store- they are separate from the corporate group that covers Lake County. First, let me say this up front...Kyle the Manager was and is GREAT! He was very attentive and made us feel very welcome! The young lady that took our order as well was very nice as well! Had the Bacon Double Deluxe and Fries Cod Sandwich. Both were very tasty, juicy, and the buns (lettuce/tomatoes/onions) were ALL fresh...especially the potato bun on the Cod Sandwich! Also the Crinkle fries were fried to perfection just like my wife does it at home! Last but not least their own "Root Beer" product was filled with a nice vanilla flavor and had such a thick froth! The fries are really thick and they seem bigger here... Hmm. This is a new location and it was pretty nice on the inside. Maybe people are not paying much attention to the orders today. I went up to the counter stating that I wasn't sure if I should try something else. I always get the Bacon Cheeseburger, I joked about it and then said that indeed I still wanted the Bacon Cheeseburger. I sit down and what did I get? Not a Bacon Cheeseburger. I went back up front and stated that I was supposed to get the bacon and they left it off by accident. The girl looked at my receipt and said that I didn't pay for the bacon, it was just a regular cheeseburger. I explained to her that I DID WANT BACON and ORDERED BACON. I am pretty crazy about my bacon! :-) Luckily they just made some bacon and handed it over to me no charge, it was not my fault they put the order in wrong. Other than that issue, this place is pretty standard. I would like to know however, why the Diet Root Beer always fuzzes up more than any other drink. Odd. read more

I've made it a point to support local restaurants during Covid. Today was my final trip to culvers in Crown Point. The last three meals , I've gotten there have been cold and or dried out. I was extremely disappointed when i got home to over cooked fries a very dry pot roast sandwich. Culvers in Crown Point is a go to place with great fries. Not this time. I think they reheated therm buy putting them back in the fryer for a few seconds. The color was a dark greasy brown and not eatable. The service was great and always is but this time the food was miserable and i threw $8.56 of food away. Ill try again but it won't be fort a a while. We did the drive thru. My husband ordered MY burger the way HE likes his. I made the correction and received what I ordered.. My food was HOT and tasty! My husband ordered the chicken cashew salad. Excellent FRESH mixed greens (quite unusual for a fast food place) with kale, cabbage and cherry tomatoes. Grilled chicken is delicious - not spicy at all. Large salad for the price. He felt there was half a chicken breast on the salad. Good cashews too! read more
