My son ordered the big roast beef sandwich with provolone and I ordered the chicken bacon ranch wrap. My problem was that I'm not a fan of ranch dressing, but the lady made a number of suggestions and found a dressing I greatly enjoyed instead. I included everything else and the sandwich was very good. The bread was so fresh. The facility is very clean. The sandwiches were priced about what you'd expect to pay for the size and quality. Well the sandwiches are pretty good and it's clean. I kind of prefer McAlisters Deli because the kids meals are only $2.99 and the meal just ends up costing a lot less. My big problem was that we came on a cold day and every time someone new came in we had to get up and close the door behind them. We could have just had out lunch out on the curb that's how much we were blasted by cold air the whole meal not to mention all the disruption of getting up and closing the door. I made an online order to be picked up at 5:27. It states on yelp and on the website that they close at 10pm. When we arrived they were closed and apparently close at 4pm now, which is crazy. But be that as it may, the online portal should have the same hours as the store and shouldn't take orders after a certain time. Wonderful sandwiches. It's quick, the food is delicious, and it has great service. I love the point system because it always seems like we're always getting a free sandwich or a free cookie. Good food in a hurry? Okay, I'm in. We were chasing around Merrillville on our way home, and Sweetie said she wanted Potbelly. I don't go often, but what the heck, I'll eat anything. She got a turkey regular, I got a large roast beef and provolone. Good bread, good meat, fresh veggies. We had macaroni salad and potato salad as sides; very very good for a chain. I had a bag of chips, we both had cookies- which were pretty decent. The place is clean, service is good, prices are reasonable. I might have to try Potbelly out more often. read more

I could make myself a better sandwich at home. There's just no wow-factor with Potbelly. I got a roast beef with provolone and added lettuce, tomato, extra pickles, mayo and "seasoning" on some sort of grain bread. The roast beef was bland, I have bought better sandwich meat from oscar mayer in my local grocery store. I have no idea how much cheese they put on these sandwiches, but I couldn't taste it AT ALL. I couldn't taste the tomato either, and when I looked to see if they had even put any on my sandwich, I found that they had... but it was barely red. They clearly don't concern themselves with using ripe vegetables in their food. They got the pickles right, but I guess I shouldn't have asked for extra because when everything else is flavorless, you are basically just eating pickles and bread. OH, their bread. A waste of stomach space, for sure. This place gets two stars because I thought the personnel working and the level of customer service was very good... but food-wise, I'd never eat at a Potbelly's again. So i visited potbelly's tonight , i haven't had it ina. While an was like why not... but after my experience i know why not ... So i come in at say 8:40 ( i understand they close at 9) ... and there's no one in the store but 2 young men (i assume they work at portillios down the road ) a young lady with long braids no hate on .. an an young lady Giovanna in her full uniform ( i think I'm misspelling her name ) .. but anyone who.. i walk in i wasn't greeted by the young lady with braids, im assuming she didn't notice me cause she was busy talking to the 2 gentleman by the register ... so i walk around to make my order an .. Giovanna greeted me with a smile an took my order (i only got a salad ) as she's cutting the meat up for my salad the young lady with the braids yells to her "hurry up so we can get our free food from portillios ( rushing her to finish making my food so they could close ) Giovanna still makes my salad and acknowledges me ... all the time Giovanna is making my salad (which she started it so the young lady with the braids could have finished it ) the young lady with the long braids was making the food for the 2 gentleman ... after Giovanna is done with my salad she rings it up, and places my salad so the young lady with the braids could cash me out... i was totally ignored for at least 8 min while the after the young lady with the braids finished making the young men sandwich and gave it to them for free.... now I'm standing at the register waiting to pay , looking crazy cause I'm being ignored wile the young lady with the braids continued to talk to the young men... she then stops An asked me ( now remember i told you the only ppl in the store was me.. my boyfriend , the young lady with the braids the young men an Giovanna and when Giovanna was done making my food 9 min ago she placed it on the counter in front of the young lady with the braids register ) what did you have????REALLY ... i was livid Giovanna even had rung it up so all the young lady had to do was cash me out ...i told her " whatever she rung up on the register while you weren't paying attention... she looked at me horribly took the money cashed me out an i received no receipt... This place is the pits!!! The service is horrible and they over charge you for the things listed as combos, then act as if it's your fault that their cashiers don't know the menu. It's bad enough that their bread is dry as heck and there is no flavor to anything they create. Bland soup, which taste like they poured the veggies out the can straight into lukewarm water and into your bowl. I'm thinking crunchy crumbling multigrain isn't really as healthy as it should be even though a little burnt is supposed to be good for you. The one thin slice of turkey buried in cheese on-my sandwich is almost see through. To top it all Samantha overcharged me, $18 for a small combo at lunch and a kids meal is highway robbery unless you are gauging customers hoping they won't look or you can't count. I love Potbelly overall, but this location left me disgusted and irritated on a non-busy Sunday afternoon. Order process was slow, cashier was the worst (Samantha). She needs to be behind the scenes for sure. My sandwich was poorly made and lettuce was old. The mess behind the counter was unbelievable. The cashier somehow got a soup soup ladle attached to her apron and she got mad and flung it and it settled in the soup but not before she had her hands all over it.
