**I will never return to the Cumberland County Playhouse.** My values do not align with an organization that allows or excuses discriminatory behavior toward individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). I recently spoke with a volunteer to inquire about tickets and show information. Once I mentioned that the individuals attending with me had IDD, the tone of the conversation shifted drastically. I was told that it would be "embarrassing" and "disruptive" to bring them to a mainstage production. The volunteer went on to suggest we instead attend a show in the smaller theater, stating that the handicap seating there was "up against a wall," and that the acoustics were so loud we "wouldn't cause a distraction." This kind of language and treatment is deeply offensive, unacceptable, and discriminatory. No person should be made to feel like an afterthought or a burden simply because they experience the world differently. If this volunteer's attitude reflects the values of the Cumberland County Playhouse, then it is not a place I can support. If it does **not**, I urge leadership to immediately address this issue and **retrain all volunteers** on how to respectfully and inclusively interact with guests of all abilities. People with IDD deserve access to art, culture, and community without being "tucked in a corner" or treated as less-than. --- read more

Saw a great show, such a fun surprise for a small town. This place has been around for YEARS, I remember as a kid hearing tv commercials for them often. We were camping in town and saw a Saturday matinee... we were probably the youngest adults in the audience, but that's ok. Quality performances, nice job, Crossville. read more

My wife and I went to see Anastasia this afternoon. Wow, the show's cast, orchestra, and venue were simply phenomenal! We were blown away with how professional the show was - the singing, the acting, the dancing (especially the ballerina), musicians, and stage crew all exceeded our expectations. The show White Christmas was great but one of the workers there was very rude! My dad was trying to record part of the show for my sister who is a music teacher and was sick and not able to attend and this woman who worked there very rudely told him he could not so I will not be back. Thank God I live far away from this place. Some people here are bad enough! read more

First let me say I love the plays and the actors. But they need to work on Customer Service. I usally take my family of 5 to 5 plays each year. I was thrilled to see the new 2021 schedule come out. With there website under construction I went to the box office to purchase tickets to 5 plays, 25 ticket in total. just to have the woman at the office tell me she was to busy to help me and I should call later. I called later, the call was pleasant but long and confusing. I was not happy having to give my credit card over the phone for such a large purchase. And later when I received a verification email. I realize the woman had just enter my info into a ticket app, which I could have done myself if she had told me the name of the app. They a charged me a $6 convenience fee per ticket, which adds up to over a $100 and this was anything but convenient. It seems ridiculous the charge someone a $6 convenience fee for $10 student tickets. That fee forced me puchuse tickets to one less show then I planned, which hurt my family and the theater. I understand the convenience fee for the convenience ordering on-line. But if some comes into the box office or calls they shouldn't have to pay a convenience fee, especially when the process is not convenient. read more

Saw "Anastasia" last night. Got blown away by the Broadway-caliber singing, acting, and choreography. Have seen one other musical here, one comedy, one drama. Never, ever disappointed. A really fine few hours of entertainment, providing hours of discussion with friends afterward. read more

Tried to watch Legally Blonde, had a problem with all the bad language, especially the F bomb! We could not wait for intermission so we could leave!! I love the Playhouse it is a great place for you or your child to act. I was in the play elf the musical. Some of my friends are Morgan Neil Luke Smith Luke Patton Mahala lantry Kendall walker Ryleigh street and Kyra Crosby. Those people are very talented. There is a choreographer named Jensen she is very good. I loved the Playhouse. There is a play going on called Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Jr. I watched it and it has lots of my friends in it and is super good and funny. I definitely recommend watching that play. I hope you sign up for the Playhouse to either do classes or plays it is so fun. I do classes and plays and I love them just as much as I hope you do too. Had a great time at the 8:45am performance of Pinocchio. This was a kid friendly performance. Checked out the concessions during intermission. Candy and a drink were $4.00. Popcorn and a drink were $5. You can't get prices like that at a larger venue! read more

Saw Mamma Mia. This was our first visit to the Cumberland playhouse and we will definitely be back. This production was first class!! The sound was phenomenal. The acting and singing were spot on. This play had me laughing and crying and wanting to get up and dance. I've seen this on almost every format out there and this was one of the best. The girl playing Sophie was AMAZING and PHENOMENAL and could aing for a living. So can't wait to come back again!!! read more

Enjoy this theater , we go every so often from Nashville . We went last night to see Don't Dress for Dinner and I believe it was one of the funniest plays we have ever watched . We laughed from the beginning to the end . The whole production was funny and well played . The whole audience was laughing . I sure hope they have more plays like this one because it makes the drive from Nashville well worth it . read more

This is definitely worth the two-hour drive from Nashville. It is so much fun! We saw "Fire on the Mountain" here several years ago, and decided that it was time for another visit. This time, we saw "Ring of Fire" and found it delightfully entertaining. Some of the songs didn't seem like they belonged in a show about Johnny Cash, even if they were done well. This is not a fancy theater, but it fits well in its rural setting. The prices of the tickets and concessions are very reasonable. And the cast seems to really enjoy what they're doing. read more

The performances I've seen at the Cumberland County Playhouse aren't just good for the region or good for the price -- they're just plain good. I've only ever seen musicals here, but this playhouse attracts some serious talent. For $25, it's pretty difficult to get seats 20 feet from the stage at a Broadway Across America performance. But here, you get comparable quality in an intimate venue. read more

The shows here never disappoint!! The people that work and intern here are so incredibly talented! It's always worth the drive from Nashville to see these shows. I've seen Matilda, Red White and Tuna, Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat, and Young Frankenstein. I plan on going again in December to see Elf the Musical! Such a great place for the area! if you are expecting a Broadway play, then you will be disappointed but again, for the area, it is wonderful! I recently watched Shrek and it was very well done! The acting was great and the humor was spot on. I went to the playhouse quite a bit as a child and it brought back great memories being there again. Once you see a play at the CCPH, you will go back for more. This is the biggest tourist attraction in east TN and upon talking to several locals, it was a major reason to re-locate to Crossville. Everyone seems to have good things to say about the Cumberland County Playhouse. Now I know why. We saw our first show there recently. It was amazingly good -- not a small-town production at all. Great talent. Wonderful set. All very professional. The community obviously loves it -- lots of volunteers for this non-profit venue. It's definitely worth a drive and the tickets are a real bargain for the quality. We saw the summer 2016 production of Smoke on the Mountain. read more

We come here as often as we can, usually to see a show we haven't seen before or haven't see for a long time. This summer, so far, we saw "Singin' In the Rain" and "Ring of Fire." SITR I had seen a few years ago in Lawrenceville GA at the Aurora, and this production was good but not as good as that one. My wife had not seen the other one and she really enjoyed it. "Ring of Fire" we had missed last year, and were so pleased to find out that Kellye Cash, Miss America 1987 and niece of Johnny, was performing that show again that featured the music of her uncle. It was all his music, but very entertaining with some very talented performers and we were lucky to sit on the front row and feel that we were in the middle of the show. The curtain speech by the director explained that one of the guitars was one that Johnny himself actually used, so we felt honored to be in the presence of that as well. Both shows were overall really good which we have come to expect from CCP. We'll be back to see "A Chorus Line" and "The Fox on the Fairway" as a final salute to summer--we saw the former on our honeymoon on Broadway 38 years ago (and a few times since) and have never seen the latter. If you haven't been to CCP, you're missing out on a wonderful opportunity to enjoy Broadway right here nearby in the Southeast! read more

I buy my parents tickets for some shows every year and when I do come up to tennesee we always see a show. They are every bit as good if not better than what we get in Tampa and at a much better price. Keep doing what you are doing. read more
