But I will say the following about this town: Okay, so I think the county courthouse here is positively peculiar and gorgeous. Made of local Crab Orchard stone it has such a unique shape and impeccable color. The surrounding bandstand and greenery is just charming. The clock tower has me looking over my shoulder for Marty in his DeLorean. What's up Doc? Let me snap my 89th picture of this facade over here. The downtown has really intuitive visitor guides. You can stop in the gazebo area and pick up a brochure or just look at the famous spots mapped out on signage above you. Did I mention this is also a retirement community? I feel like the city is used to foot traffic and all the investment in tourism shows it. If you have the time, you can visit the old depot or museums or just march down the flawless historical downtown streets. I really loved the old buildings here. There's shopping. There's some food but it's mostly outside of the historic downtown and closer to the busy roads.

In my opinion, those are the exact reasons you should take this class! You can learn basic hooping but also how to do cool tricks (that require practice). Personally, I think we all take ourselves too seriously and nothing helps loosen you up more than doing something new, kinda uncomfortable and silly in a room full of others in the exact same slightly-awkward boat. By the time the group circle comes around, you are for sure smiling, relaxed and sweating and the group hug seems like the right thing to do. This will not be my only source of exercise, but when i am in a fitness rut, i will take a class here to bust out of it. Stop being uptight, just try it!

The marker has the same texdt on both sides, reading "In 1817, John Kemmer purchased land here and built Kemmer Stand, a wayside inn, at the intersection of Burke Road. It was two-story, two-section structure that housed many travelers traversing the Cumberland Plateau. At the crest of this hill lies Walton or Great Stage Road. Built in 1800, it was the first federal road across the Plateau." It is marker number 2C-20 and it was erected by the Tennessee Historical Commission. **I will never return to the Cumberland County Playhouse.**…read more My values do not align with an organization that allows or excuses discriminatory behavior toward individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). I recently spoke with a volunteer to inquire about tickets and show information. Once I mentioned that the individuals attending with me had IDD, the tone of the conversation shifted drastically. I was told that it would be "embarrassing" and "disruptive" to bring them to a mainstage production. The volunteer went on to suggest we instead attend a show in the smaller theater, stating that the handicap seating there was "up against a wall," and that the acoustics were so loud we "wouldn't cause a distraction." This kind of language and treatment is deeply offensive, unacceptable, and discriminatory. No person should be made to feel like an afterthought or a burden simply because they experience the world differently. If this volunteer's attitude reflects the values of the Cumberland County Playhouse, then it is not a place I can support. If it does **not**, I urge leadership to immediately address this issue and **retrain all volunteers** on how to respectfully and inclusively interact with guests of all abilities. People with IDD deserve access to art, culture, and community without being "tucked in a corner" or treated as less-than. ---

This unassuming park slightly outside of Crossville packs a punch! I stayed in the Mill House Cabin, which is now one of my favorite rentals of all time! Sitting on the underside of the bridge, you have no neighbors shy of the ranger residence up a private driveway leading to the visitor center / aviary area. With great access to trails, walking distance to the restaurant, and pretty much central to everything while being secluded and private at the same time. I did one of the ranger-led night floats, for a little history and a night sounds segments, which was also amazing! The park is relatively near to Chattanooga or Fall Creek Falls as well if you are interested in day trips!

That sweet couple saw an abandoned place (a land mark community hone) and knew they could fix it to nearly the original splendor. The home was built with all the modern conveniences when indoor plumbing or electric were unheard of! It saw many different owners, including a doctor who turned the home into a hospital! It was even where the first hip surgery was ever done in the county. A must see!!!
