I know I'm going to use them and they make perfect gifts for my friends and family. And they are too fun not to collect. Both of the Trader Joe's in my area are always crazy busy! It's honestly the most chaotic chore I do multiple times a week, grocery shopping. Walking into this store was the complete opposite. It's chill, calm and peaceful. I literally felt like I was dreaming. I can only imagine how easy it must be to stop in, not have anyone cut you off or fighting your way through a crowd of shoppers. The thought of just being able come for what you need and leave without it taking forever sounds magical. And shopping at this location made me think of all the fun possibilities! I'm sure I came at a slow time but a girl can dream. I grabbed a handful of bags and of course a Chantilly vanilla bean cake. My daughter was attending a concert at the Gillette stadium so I needed a treat to keep me company. Like every location I have been to, the gal that checked me out was really sweet. We chatted a bit about my bag collection. She told me about the plastic forks up up front for my cake. It was the sweetest and easiest transaction. This store was amazing! It's three times the size of ours and it was fun checking it out. My cake was great as always. You can never go wrong with the sheet cakes here. I got my bags all packed for my flight home. Then the cashier was so kind wishing me a great night and to have a safe drive home. That normally doesn't happen anymore and I greatly appreciate it. In fact it actually made my night. The staff is always helpful and friendly. The store is extremely clean and always fun to experience the revolving products. The only drawback is falling in love with one and not being able to get it again when they change out them out seasonally.

When she was done I went and asked if they make sandwiches to order. The guy working said "no, we make all of our sandwiches fresh each morning and they're in the case by the door." He wasn't rude, but it seemed odd that they wouldn't sell me a custom sandwich. Here's my first complaint: all the sandwiches were on little foam trays and covered in plastic (like a piece of steak would come on at a grocery store), I don't know if this is how they always do it, but it's a bad idea: all of the sandwiches were squished flat because of how tight the plastic was (and also probably because they stack them up). I'm no elitist, I'm not a fancy guy, but presentation is half the battle and these sandwiches were not appetizing. What's wrong with just rolling your subs in deli paper? I swallowed my pride and grabbed the least flattened turkey sub, along with a bag of chips and a drink. The cashier girl was polite and asked me if I wanted any condiments for the sub, which I did. When I got home and began eating my sub I discovered it already had mayonnaise on it, which I don't like. And it wasn't listed on the label with the ingredients. Which is exactly why I would've ordered a sandwich from the deli, not because I think the ones in the case aren't fresh, but because they looked awful, and now to me it tasted awful. The turkey too was really crumbly... it didn't look like a turkey sub, it looked like a tuna sub. I'm giving 3 stars because the cashier was friendly and the subs ARE cheap, it was less than $4 for a 6" sub. But you know what? Charge me $5 or $6 and make it look (and taste) worth eating. This is one of those places where some things are ridiculously cheap (like the subs) and other items are more than they would be at Cumberland Farms or 7-11.
