I was in the area and I found this store very convenient to the highway, just west of I-95. The store was well lit and very clean as I walked in. I came to pick up a few grocery and pantry items. My daughters first birthday was today and I know I didn't want to cook for 27 people so I found Shaws was close by to where we were having her party. 2 weeks before I tried to call 3 times and 2 times nobody answered and 3rd time I was transferred to deli to place part of order then transferred to produce to be then hung up on called back then transferred to bakery where I was told they couldn't make the cake thats clearly on their website. I fed up said it was ridiculous to try and place a catering order with every department! Fed up I asked the nice patient lady Joan to transfer me to the manager! I then told him he could write down the order and delegate it to each department. 3 days before party called to verify order was correct they never wrote down 2 things and I had spoken to a manager and still things were wrong! Fast forward I called today spoke to Joan said I would be there at 12 I wanted the order ready at the front with receipts to be quick in and out pay and grab food. I get there 11:58 only the cake is there then someone comes with sandwich trays and deli roll up still no fruit or veggie trays he said o let me check aka they forgot! He comes up its now 12:25 the party Im hosting is at 1! The manager apologized but didn't give any explanation for the all around incompetence. Gave no discount. I will not be getting "catering" from Shaws again. I'm a Wegmans girl and will stick to their food. Half the food wasnt touched not sure if people liked it or not. If anyone gets sick they will be getting a return call from me thats for sure especially if my 1 year old does! read more

The service at the deli counter in this store is awful. The employees keep their backs to the customers way too long before serving. Almost seems like you're bothering them. Orders are prepared so darn s.l.o.w.l.y. The only reason I've continued to go there was for the tasty fried chicken, but the last two times the chicken was overcooked and dry. Also, Stop and Shop leaves Shaw's in the dust as to selection of everything. read more

I thought Stop and Shop was bad because you always have to bag yourself. Shaws beat them. First time there in years. Had to go out to my car and download app to get digital coupon for steak they didn't have. Then cashier on phone head down. Asked if she was open and said yes but seemed like my shopping there apparently bothered her. She never smiled. No bagger. May have said something when I left but whispered so low I have no idea. First off, the cashiers are great. Most store employees are as well. NOT so much the deli or the butcher counter. Between having to wait seemingly forever to get waited on at the deli , which is a regular occurrence, to having three other deli employees who just keep their backs turned instead of acknowledging customers, it's just not worth the aggravation. And the woman at the butcher counter is beyond rude (short, black hair) and amazingly told me that they can't cut meat. At a butchers counter, really?!? C'mon, Shaws. Do better! read more

I was not too excited with the greasy haired (dark hair) un-friendly deli associate when we asked for cheese. The best part is the butcher section. The amazing butcher took the time to help us pick out the best meat for our homemade beef jerky. Then he spent that extra time slicing it all. read more

I just moved to a new apartment with my 2 autistic children. my app order was delayed (doordash). I called at 4pm 2 hrs late. the gal told me it was hiccup with doordash. at 7pm I called again, needing to feed my kids, talked to John. he ensured me the groceries were on their way. 730pm they arrived from one of their associates who was so polite and apologetic. He even offered to bring the groceries up for me. People leave reviews when things go wrong but not when companies make it right. This company made it right. read more

I used to shop at Shaws all the time (over 40 year customer) but over the years found them to be run down and just stopped shopping there, just started going to this one, have had good and bad experiences; service desk was closed at 7:30 pm on a Friday w/sign any cashier/register can help you, took asking three people before I got help (everyone s acted like they were incapable of assisting you or that you were inconveniencing them. I will say their bakery is still very good all these years later and they're the one market that had yellow watermelon this year, good Badia section. Some of the prices are very high compared to other supermarkets (the size Splenda I buy was a good $4 more than where I normally buy it (left it there). read more

I love Shaws and I enjoy shopping there. We always buy our deli meat there. I was away a few weeks and when I went to the store it was like a new store. The produce is so much more appealing! I like the new set up. This was several months ago. But the bathrooms were finally renovated. This needed to be done for years. Well actually I haven't seen the women's bathroom . It was closed so we all had to use the men's. It was done over and so clean. I haven't had a chance to go in the women's yet. One word of advice is your clearance stuff. I always spend time there and find some great bargains. But it is in front of the entrance to the back where the storage is and sometimes I have to be careful. Recently Stop and Shop moved there clearance to the middle of an isle. It is not cluttered and looks good. Your is so cluttered but like I said I always find some good deals. I miss saving stamps towards free stuff. I have gotten pans, food scissors, containers and other things over the years. I wish your rein checks were more than 30 days and I miss getting a free item each month. Once I was in stop and shop a few years back and I showed so big wigs your program and said we get something free each month. But it doesn't happen as much and sometimes when you do it is not in stock. I love your rewards program but my husband likes stop and shop rewards because there are more Shell stations around. What keeps me coming back is your deli and your clearance and your rewards program. Especially when the rewards are money off the next time I go and when you have money off produce and meats sometimes AND money off your next visit when we buy certain gift cards. This shaws is convenient to my home & work, I shop here often. Most of the workers are friendly except for a select few. Prices are decent. Honestly sometimes I just go there on my lunch break because I'm having a rough day at work and want to see my favorite bagger Christopher. He is so happy & friendly and will always make you feel better. He is a awesome worker and its refreshing to see a smiling face. I don't understand why most of their meats (burgers, pork, chicken) are advertised as "Buy One Get One Free" but the products are double the price. The annoying thing is, you can't mix and match!! I'm sorry but three bone-in chicken breasts should not be almost $15. They price was $4.49/lb. Most stores sell them for $1.69-2.49/lb. The deli has some good items that other stores don't. The produce selection is really good. The fruit prices are some of the best around which is why I stop here sometimes. There are no more "self-checkout" stations. I am sure there are reasons but I like to do self checkout for a few reasons: 1. It entertains my toddler and 2. I can keep an eye on the price amounts as I scan. Alot of shaws supermarkets get bad reviews but this one is good. Very good produce,meat and fish depts. The hot foods dept has awesome pizza, chicken wings, fried and roasted chicken and other nice hot food selections. I hope the addition of market basket in pawtucket isn't a concern for this location. what does it take to be a little nicer to your customers! went to the deli today to get a couple of pieces of chicken for lunch and the girl starts putting them in a brown lunch bag?? I asked if she could put them I a container since I work across the street and im gonna eat them for lunch...( plus they are greasy and will go threw the bag) miss attitude throws the bag on the floor like it is an inconvenience! I told her a co worker comes in ( who is a male BTW and obviously treated better then females) and gets chicken and gets it in a clear container... she argues with me that he is getting a meal then.. I said NO just chicken ( I see what he eats) didn't want to hear it and goes and grabs a big chicken bucket which is overkill btw and probably cost more money then a simple plastic container.... 2.98 for 2 pieces of chicken.. which is fine didn't need the attitude... get back to work tell my coworker he shows she the container it is in with the price of 2.98 for 3 PIECES of chicken ( big ones at that) YUP I guess if I was a male I would have gotten a better deal and a plastic container LMAO!! read more

Love this place. First it is so conveniently located right off of 95 and not in such a congested area that you have to sit in traffic to get there. The place is very clean, the staff is always friendly and helpful, and they have a large gluten free and natural foods sections. Plus they have really good fresh produce. They also have great prepared foods like pizza and their whole chicken rosters are always fresh and tender. Check out always seems much less painful than most stores and if you hit it on the right times you can get in and out pretty fast. read more

I wish I could do zero stars. Customer service is horrible. I had to wait to be served at the deli when there was no one else waiting because a worker was flirting with another worker. This store is conveniently located and closest to my house which is the only reason I shop here. The organic fresh produce section is very limited. The natural food selection and space is small. The prices are very high and you get nothing for those high prices. There are few cashiers, rarely baggers and when there are baggers they are not trained to bag correctly and I end up with bags filled to the top and everything just thrown in a big pile . I have to rebag everything in the trunk of my car. I usually try to shop elsewhere if I have the time to make the extra drive. read more

It very frustrating when you go shopping on a Friday afternoon and the items that are suppose to be on sale as per the flyer aren't ringing in on sale when they are scanned at the register. I like this store for the most part. Its clean and has a good selection on most food items. The produce seems fresh and well stocked. I do think the prices are rather high, and I know Shaw's has been closing stores. I would think the chain would want to be more competitive and lower their prices. Guess not from what I see at this location. With that said the store is a joy to shop in. No crowds makes for a pleasant shopping experience. Unfortunately a lack of patrons is not good for the store. I foresee this store closing like a number of other Shaw's Especially with Market Basket adding locations in New England. One is opening only a few miles from this Shaw's and its obvious people will flock there when it opens. I don't give this Shaw's long to live when Market Basket opens in late fall. read more
