Their soups are the best, the people behind the deli counter always make such fresh food. We stop at Quick Chek also to load up on food supplies for our hiking trips. A couple days ago we went to Fitzgerald Falls only a few miles away, part of the Appalachian trail. We got salads, sandwiches, and sides; all incredibly fresh and delicious. Quickcheck just hires anybody??? These people are handling money......... among other things.... Absolute insanity. I've never experienced anything quite like that in any store in upstate New York. This is more typical of a Bronx, Brooklyn corner store attitude.. There's a Cumberland Farms down the road, which possesses a cleaner facility, and MUCH nicer employees. Additionally, there is a Sunoco station further down Route 17, near shoprite, with awesome employees and cheaper things (they don't force customers to pay a higher than listed price). This is a newer model of the Cumberland Farms chain. This store was recently built after the older…read morestyle Cumberland Farms was tore down to make room for this new one. The new store is at least 3x larger than the older one. As such, it features an updated and modern design, the parking lot is larger, and there are many more gas pumps. There is an abundance of parking on the front and side of the building, with doors on both sides and entrances on both the 17K and Rock Cut Road sides of the parking lot. This is much more efficient than the old store. The inventory is wide-ranged. There are a few shelves with perishable foods and miscellaneous items, but much of the store contains fresh food -- hot or cold. There is a variety of a little bit of everything. Staff are friendly and plenty. I stopped in just before midnight on a weeknight and there were 4 employees working. Two were stocking the shelves, one was cleaning, and the other was a cashier (who was also cleaning). Staff were extremely friendly and 2 employees went out of their ways to advise me that uniformed personnel (military, law enforcement, etc.) always get coffee for free. A few customers came in and out, but the amount of staff on hand was easily able to keep up with the flow, plus there were still enough employees to get the other jobs done (stocking, cleaning, etc.). For a gas station / convenience store, this is impressive. I hope it lasts.

She refused to sell it to us because she said it's illegal for her to sell it to me after someone with no ID came up with it. My friend is 3 years older then me. The cashier is in the wrong and doesn't know the law because I can buy it since I have my ID and it's my responsibility on what happens with the beer afterwards. Honestly this place should train their staff better since their staff are incompetent and should know what the law truly is.
