Went shopping at 7:30 AM , Thu Aug 14, to do our weekly shopping. We have been going to this Shop Rite for 10 years. As we went to check out around 8:15 there were no checkers at check-out counters: only self service was open. The self service lines was long, since there were no checkers. I asked an assistant manager why no checkout lines were open? "We had a situation this morning..." Obviously. This was not the first time we had a problem with no checkers available at this day and time. But, it will be the last. If Shop Rite management can't get their act straight and focus on customer service, they won't see any more of my business. Here is a suggestion: have back-up checker capability. What a novel idea. Have an assistant manger open a register: or have one of the employee shoppers open a register. Management obviously does not care about customers. If you read the Yelp reviews, management never responds to complaints. Just demonstrates that they don't care. Bye bye Shoprite: we will move on to Hannafords or Price Chopper that are minutes away. read more

To say that this ShopRite sucks would be far too kind. They frequently do not have what I came to get, their digital coupon system is awful, and the workers are surly and unpleasant. Unfortunately, ever since they closed down the ShopRite much closer to my home this is the only option I have and I absolutely hate coming here. Sometimes the store is easy to shop and sometimes it's a giant mess. There are two other grocery stores within 0.5 miles of here so no need to return here for lousy customer service. Ok I rarely review supermarkets and maybe it's time I started. When I first moved to the hudson valley I hit this place a few times and I was just not impressed. Well things change they remodeled, upgraded and stepped up their game big time. Things are incredible now in the vegetable area, the deli counter, the cheese area all top notch it makes you feel like you are at whole foods and not a local ShopRite. Too bad this store is falling behind with poor customer service and check out. Despite a redesign effort it only has 4 self check outs ( nearby WalMart grocery has 15). The checkouts that are staffed are too few among the many empty registers with long lines. Expect to take 10+ minutes to check out during the pre dinner hours. The management appears to have changed and is MIA. Staff simply put you off with a shrug. read more

This was my first time using this ShopRite. I've always used Price Chopper because of the fuel discounts they offer. However, I stopped in ShopRite late in the evening to buy a birthday cake from their bakery (someone specifically requested ShopRite's cake). I was so impressed with this store, I might start using this ShopRite regularly and ditch Price Chopper. I was very impressed with the appearance of the store. The store is organized and everything is sectioned off, kind of like Hannaford. This makes things much easier to find. The selection of food, especially in the bakery, was absolutely incredible. The variety and quantity of freshly baked goods is easily 10x more than other local supermarkets. The prices are also equal to or cheaper than other local supermarkets. The self checkout is also much easier than other stores. They have portable bar code readers, instead of scanning things upside-down over the counter and placing it onto scales (like their competitors do). The receipt said the items can be scanner by using a cell phone, which I'd definitely like to try doing. I'll most likely end up using this as my regular go-to spot. read more

This place can be very crowded because they always seem to have really good sales and parking can be tricky because of the crowds. Although the parking lot is actually very large it can be tricky getting parking close to the store entrance. read more

My fav grocery store in the area.. deli tends to get backed up .. bakery is excellent! I get all my cakes here.. they do great custom orders .. good selection of items.. lots of wonderful staff members Lori (bakery) peg( customer service) and cashiers (Arlene/ Sonia/ Kierra) are some of my favs- they know me by name and ask about my daughter if she's not w me. Shop from home staff is good (just get your cold cuts yourself don't order them If you don't like them thick) any time I've had any problems at ShopRite (which is rare) they make it right. Satisfied customer here! If I had to make any critique I'd say I wish they made the everything bagels price chopper does, cooked the rotisserie chickens more well done And had a bigger fruit/ veggie section like Adams. read more

Shoprite always has great door busters like their famous "Can Can" sale. This location is better than all the rest. The place is recently renovated and clean. Every department is huge so you'll get what you need. The prices are the same as their other locations so I come here. read more

I just happen to swing by since it was on the way to where I was going. contrary to what the previous person said about the cleanliness he must have went on a bad day. The place is huge and very well laid out. You can get a sandwich made to order or grab n go. Sushi station, chefs special It's a whole foods in Its on way. Prices are more affordable and selections were spot on. Even the fish looked fresh compared to other shop rite locations I've been too. Best part is the self check out which is ideal when you want to get in and out. It's worth checking out with all the renovations that have taken place. Well, my excitement about this place didn't last too long. The renovation looks nice but the quality of the items , the cleanliness of the place and the people shopping there don't help. They stand in the middle of the aisles chatting and don't move so you can actually shop, bump at you with the carts and the overall feeling is that you're on the set of The Walking Dead episode. Very disappointed with the quality of the items in the veggie section (kinda disgusted as well from people touching stuff and putting it back). Dirty floors didn't help the case. Decided to go to the Deli (They have a Boars Head product deli which is very good) and someone who was clearly not happy to be there came offering "help". Should have passed. She took my order and as I was waiting, she was taking the trash out before prepping my items. She did change the gloves but still disgusting. Machines were no cleaned so my Swiss cheese came with a different color on the edges and the Ham was shaved without my consent...had to throw away as you couldn't make one slice from it. The meat department is just as bad with almost expired items on flash sale (you see that whole shelf of dark brown meat right next to the other stuff). No nice cuts and the staff is far from helpful. So, first impression was good after the renovation but it was just a make up for a pretty bad store. I will go back to shop at Hannaford. Is way more expensive but is nice and clean with friendly staff and fresh quality items. read more

This store has had a recent remodel,which would be a plus except they narrowed the aisles which makes it very difficult to move through the store. They have empty wasted space at the ends of the aisles in the back so the narrowing makes no sense. The produce section could use some help, I brought home fruit flies twice and no longer buy produce here. Staff including management need to be more friendly and responsive to customers. I go to Monroe or Chester Shoprites or just stop into Price Chopper. read more

The 2 pharmacists here are top notch. They are knowledgable, friendly, and go above and beyond routine service. All of the other pharmacy staff is friendly as well. I have been to other grocery store pharmacys and normally the workers don't care, but that isn't the case here. It's also convenient to be able to pick up prescriptions while shopping. This store needs a major overhaul. The store is not inviting. There are no windows except for the glass on the doors. The parking lot is like an obstacle course and always crowded. The entrance is crowded and small. Shopping carts are old and rusty, wheels have no traction - nothing like fighting with a cart when you're shopping. The lighting in the store is Horrible! It feels like you're in a dirty lab. It brightens the dirty white floors, against the white wall. The isle are overcrowded and narrow. There is not enough room to get by. Store is the size of a Walmart - too big. It should not take you an hour to go food shopping. Meat - is not good quality. You can see the meat juice at the bottom of the pack. Seafood - If you can't see it - you can certainly smell it. The "Shoprite labeled" items are not priced better than name brands. The pharmacy is in the middle of the store, along with home items, bulk items, and gluten free food. The isle are awkward and shorter. It's like walking in a maze. You need to bypass that isle just to get to frozen and bread section. You need a map of the store. The cash registers has too much merchandise surround it - its looks sloppy. The cap-ends are sloppy and overcrowded. They constantly move things around, which is frustrating when you just want to run in and grab something. read more

This Shop Rite has put an enormous amount of $ into the building, yet they have created so many other logistical issues. Example, there is only 1 entrance and exit. Not only is it a traffic nightmare but it would seem to be an emergency disaster as well. Many employees are unfriendly, don't acknowledge the customers, and clearly look and seem miserable. In addition, they are open early but not their customer service counter. They open at 8 am. Well, a lot of us work at 8. NOT CONVENIENT . If the store is open, the customer service should be open. I have shopped here for years since they have good sales. It was tricky to get used to the new layout after their remodel, but as with everything, you learn to adjust. The staff is usually helpful when you need an item that is not on the shelf. Peggy at the customer service desk is always pleasant and helpful.
