While the store may not have the best prices in the world, they aren't way out of touch, and this place is the only one of it's type in Alton, besides the "Village Store", which isn't nearly as great. Parking is easy and there are entrances to the station in both the front, by the gas station, and in the back, with additional parking. Also, they carry the Boston Sunday Globe which is useful to have up in NH. Located right at the Route 11, Route 28, and Route 28A rotary in Alton. 5 stars. First - my roommate and I visited Trader Joe's right after moving to Portsmouth. The cashier looked at our IDs since we were buying wine, and when she found out that we had just moved to the area, she gave us a reusable bag as a welcome gift. We were so touched by this welcome and really appreciated the gesture as we had just arrived and were starting to settle in. Second, and most recently, my partner and I were picking up a couple of items on a Sunday night. We went to get in the checkout line and then remembered that we needed to grab one more thing. Just then, the bagging attendant told us "I'll open another lane for you guys" to which we responded that we needed to grab another thing. He told us it was not a problem and he'd be ready when we got back, and returned to bagging. We went, got our item, and upon our return to the checkout line, the attendant immediately opened up another lane. Although this may seem small, I was so appreciative that the attendant not only wanted to improve our experience initially, but cared enough to keep an eye on us while we picked up another item and opened up another lane for us as soon as we returned. I felt that it truly went above and beyond and I wish I remembered his name to give him a shoutout. I would be remiss if I concluded this review with no mention of the Trader Joe's food. Their frozen meals are amazing and all of their food is so high quality; I've never had a product that disappointed.

I visited this CVS location during a recent trip to New Hampshire…read more I was looking to buy some snacks and beverages but I decided to give the whole store a spin to see if I wanted or needed anything else. The store was definitely well maintained and well stocked. The cold beverage cooler had plenty of options for sodas, juices, water and so on. The snack and candy aisles had a lot to pick from as well. I ended up with a bag of chips, a couple of candy bars, a Sprite and a CVS branded bottle of water. Plenty of munchies and drinks to tide me over for my return trip to the Boston area. I took a quick gander at their household goods aisle and grabbed some rubbish bags while I was there as well just to have for the house. I used their self service checkout area and everything there was in good working order. While I did not interact with any of the employees there I did see some other customer's interactions with the store staff and they all seemed knowledgeable and pleasant to deal with. I would definitely come back to this location if ever I am in the area again.

You wait in long lines when going in to the location; and if there is a problem with your Rx, they are not helpful in finding you answers as to why or in transferring the Rx, if they are unable to fill it. If you call the Pharmacy to get information about your prescription; you can spend 45 minutes to an hour I hold! Then the staff is rude. I work in healthcare myself and understand most places are short staffed and overworked; but they still have a service to provide to people who need help! In a lot of cases people going to a pharmacy are not feeling well and having a staff member be rude and unhelpful, certainly doesn't help! Not the best way to provide patient care!
