The smoothies here are the perfect mix of healthy and delicious with the added perk of CBD, if you so desire. The baked goods are fresh, tasty, and there is something to accommodate every dietary restriction. As far as the store section goes, it is equally impressive. Ok. So I come here at least once a month to get my raw probiotics like kombucha and fermented foods. They have a few fresh produce items, but the plus is that they have everything else on the list of organic and healthy packaged foods along with a lot of locally sourced products. I especially like the huge selection of bulk herbs and spices. After about six different times I visited here, I went further towards the back and found that they had a café back there that makes unbelievable soups and cold press fresh organic juices, which now brings a smile to my face every time I come back. I recommend this place to anyone who is interested in supporting local businesses and saving some money instead of shopping at Whole Foods high prices. Never have shopped in the health food store part of this place, but I did stop into this cafe for the first time this spring when I was looking for something quick and healthy and was pretty impressed. Although I am hardly vegetarian/vegan, I love trying those options when available and will gladly substitute vegetarian stuff for meat when the product is as tasty as it's animal alternative. (Even when it's not as tasty, I still have mad love/appreciation for any place trying to make good vegetarian food happen!) Anyway, this place really does a good job, and I've returned a few times whenever I happen to be in Dover. They have pretty delicious vegetarian soups and sandwiches. The guy who is consistently behind the counter is extremely helpful and always willing to try to help my indecisive self make a decision on something. He is patient and offers honest opinions on things when I ask for them. (Dig that.) Haven't tried the juices/smoothies, so can't really comment there (I'm a loyal fan of The Juicery in Portsmouth, anyway, so when I need a juice or smoothie, that's where I go). But I'm sure if they're consistent in quality with their other products, then they're pretty damn good. If you're looking for healthy food in Dover, I recommend this place. read more

I've experienced my fair share of natural stores in New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts and now New Hampshire, and I've got to say this is my new favorite! Staff is INCREDIBLY rude, especially the older ladies. I was super excited to see there was a 20% discount going on for Charlottes Web CBD products. I've been searching for inexpensive brands for my dog. I always do my business through The Herbal Path and the two times I've chosen to come to Dover Natural Marketplace looking for specific products, I left feeling absolutely uneased and disappointed with their customer service. They keep their cbd selection where NO ONE CAN EVEN SEE IT? When asked to take a closer look, they get insanely rude and defensive. There are no prices listed anywhere. I can't see the brand names or dosages. Nothing. Get a clear locked box and put it where customers can actually see it and educate themselves on your products without having to go through bitter old ladies. I dont think this place gets enough credit for the Cafe part of the store. There isnt a lot of indoor seating (maybe a table or two) but there are also a few tables outside. They have some damn good soups and fresh made sandwiches with top quality ingredients. Good spot for a quick lunch on the go. Made will all good ingredients (no fillers) and they usually have some good seasonal specials. My favorite is the Hardcore SuperGreen. I've been shopping at DNF since it opened. Best selection anywhere NH. Owners and daughter VERY knowledgable and friendly. Will NOT sell you anything you don't need nor want. Freshest organic food, local goat products, etc. Most importantly, they do their utmost to purchase clean and green products such as soaps and lotions, laundry detergent. Also sell animal food. Our pets lasted well past the age they were supposed to pass because we bought their food there. read more

I have been a fan and a customer of Dover Natural Foods for many many years. They have always been friendly, helpful and knowledgable. They are a wonderful place to buy bulk spices, organic foods, gluten-free and dairy-free and vegan selections too. Their cafe in the back has never failed to impress me with their selection of soups and baked goods and smoothies. They also are a pick up location for the seacoast fish CSA (or FSA as it is)! They have a surprising variety of items, given the small size of the space. It's conveniently located, with easy parking and wheelchair access available. I love visiting them during the Dover Farmer's Market across the street at the Chamber of Commerce on Wednesdays. Yes, some items you can find cheaper elsewhere (oh the power of huge corporations to drive small businesses out of business!), but for most items this is the only local place to find what you need. read more

I shop at Dover Natural every couple of months. I always buy more than I intend because they carry a great selection of products. I have enjoyed food from the cafe on occasion, as well. Anything I buy there regularly I can find online cheaper, but I always try to support local businesses. Today I had to ask the woman behind the register to help me locate a specific product. Apparently, I interrupted her conversation with a friend. I got an answer to my question with a huge side of attitude. I guess I was still interrupting when I brought my order to the register, because she seemed put out by having to deal with me. I don't mind paying more for something if I feel good about supporting a local business, but the next time I need anything I will save myself the time and money and order online. read more

I love DNF. Their cafe is great and always inspires me to try different versions of their recipes at home. But mostly I go for the bulk legumes and grains (I'm not sure why the reviewer Mike B says there aren't bulk items...). They also have an amazing spice room. (With real cinnamon!). They now carry Brookform farm items. Their whole milk plain yogurt is amazing, and it seems DNF is also really stepping up on the amount of fresh produce. They had organic dinosaur kale for $2.49 last time I was in there. Awesome. Get a green smoothie in the back! read more

Awesome organic and natural foods grocery store. It has a cafe in the back with yummy soups at lunch time. I have been visiting this store since they first opened and only have a few things on the shelves. They have grown into a full fledged organic foods and supplements store. I can find offerings there that I cannot find in my grocery store. I love the organic filo and puff pastry. They also offer yogurt starter. And, bulk foods like brown rice and mung beans. I haven't been able to find brown rice at the regular grocery stores I visit. I have made this a regular stop on my monthly grocery store list. read more
