This review is only for the outdoor pool. The pool is really fun! Great for younger kids. There's a large splash area with lots of dumping buckets and some spray guns and slides for the littles. The 'lazy river' is fun to go around and around. The big slide is for 48" and up and it is a blast. We are visiting family from out of town and were so bummed out that they close the pool during the weekdays immediately when school starts. It's only the beginning of August! We were happy to discover they offered a homeschool day while we were in town so we could check it out without dealing with weekend crowds.

When the kids were little they loved the play pad, now I go for the classes.. you can get your kids used to the water so early & east now, you can go for sculpting, training, Aqua therepy, Zumba, there are silver sneakers sessions, water volleyball and if you are a walker then you can come walk the lazy river on weekday mornings before it get busy. Counter people are super helpful & you can loose track of time there.

The Cumming Aquatic Center opened last year (2013) and it is seriously a great place! It is kind of funny, because it's this huge place up in Cumming, kind of in the middle of nowhere (off exit 16), but it's definitely worth checking out. Once you get to the center you have the option to stay outside or go inside. The inside pools are for swim lessons and classes, and the outside is a whole huge sprayground/splash pad/waterpark. The swim lessons here have been the cheapest I have seen around, and the instructors are legit. Outside is where the real fun is! $5 for adults and $4 for kids 2-17 (under 2 are free), you get half day admission to their outdoor waterpark. They have 2 sessions, one in the morning (like 10-2), and then one in the afternoon (lke 2:30-closing), and you have to pay for each session. However, 4 hours is more than enough time here, and I like the morning session. There is a big waterslide which is super fun for people over 48 inches tall, but there is much more as well. You start off with a very shallow pool that has a huge play structure (think real playground structure). It's equipped with slides that dump the kids into the water, spray guns, and a huge bucket that dumps water every few minutes. There are also random buckets dumping overhead and filling up constantly. From there the pool gets a bit deeper and feeds into a 'lazy' river. This river has the strongest pull I have ever felt on a 'lazy' river though, and will pull you around it pretty quickly. You can opt for one of 2 ways, one more relaxing, and the other will get you soaked from more buckets pouring overhead. There are tons of chairs/loungers/umbrellas, and there are also pavilions that can be rented out. There are always life guards looking out, and I have found that they are really paying attention to the kids swimming, which is nice for a change. They also have a big concession stand that totally doesn't rip you off. They have food like pizza and ice cream, and little snacks and drinks as well. I was surprised that the Cumming Aquatic Center wasn't on Yelp yet, but also kind of happy....it seems like a somewhat undiscovered gem and I am sure in the next year it's going to get crazy busy all the time.

Always was able use swim noodles and now not any more. Rip off. They used to have them for people with health conditions.

It was good. We were traveling and spent a day there. It was basically a YMCA pool. Cheap. Easy. Kids had a good time!

Really nice, clean aquatic center. Great for small kids but not really conducive to a relaxing pool environment in the summer.

My son absolutely loves it and feels comfortable. My daughter is starting classes soon as well. I highly recommend this place. The staff is so friendly and everything is cleaned and organized. Everyone there is so helpful! Nayden is the swim instructor for my son and she is awesome! She has been great with him and so helpful with getting my daughter to start lessons as well.

When I called back I got someone else who said I should probably have her do an assessment. So I showed up this past weekend and had her do the 2 minute assessment which was basically the instructor asking her to swim to her then float on her back. So I decided to set her up for lessons, although I was not impressed with the swim instructor. The lady at the desk told me there was an $80 registration fee and then $25 for the assessment. First of all no one told me there was a fee for the assessments and she went into exactly the class I figured she would go into so I was a bit irritated. Anyway I decided to set it up regardless. I did ask on the phone how many children were present for each class and I was told for the five. There are eight children present today with one instructor. So that's another annoyance. This location is very convenient, so I would love it to work out. I guess I'll give it more of a try but so far I'm not impressed. Another side note, in order to see the lanes fully you have to sit inside the pool area and it is like 100° in here! I'm sweating bullets. But it's only way I could get a full view of what my daughter is doing. The teacher is very perfunctory and doesn't crack a smile. I'll have to see if I can get her private lessons perhaps with someone else here or try somewhere else altogether.

When we visited with our family only the outdoor pool and small water park was open. On a hot summer day it was certainly worth the trip and the value given the price (it's public) seems like it's hard to beat. We paid a little over $20 for a Father's Day special (two kids tickets plus mom). Note: under 2 is free but 2 and under must wear swim diapers even if they are potty trained. The water park is fairly small and we felt like we got our fill in just a little over an hour of time. The life guards are nice, but as others have mentioned, strict. Not just the "no running" type of strict but the no going face first on a baby slide type of strict. It's a pretty paternalistic approach when you consider that every hour they take a 10 min "get some water and reapply sunscreen" break. Isn't this what parents are supposed to do with their kids? I'll also note that no outside food or beverage is allowed and this is enforced The little lazy river is fun and fast moving. They have two big slides if you have kids that are 48 " inches tall at least. The aqua tots section doesn't have much but it's fun. It was crowded when we were there so it took about 10-15 min to enter and the big slides also had some lines, but nothing crazy They also have a small concession stand and lockers for just $.25 which is nice. Again, overall, given the price it's a pretty good deal for cooling off with your fam but if you live far away, not sure it's worth making the trip all that often.
