I go to GWINNETT swim for water aerobics 2 to 3 times a week. Good instructors good exercise. Even though the facility is older it's always seemed very clean. They're very good about monitoring the cleanliness of the water and have closed down if there was any contamination. It's easy to check in and lots of options every day for either swimming laps or doing a class. All the instructors are pleasant and work with any type of limitations. read more

Excellent instruction and wonderful place to have your child take swimming lessons. My son is comfortable with the water but lacked swimming skills and technique. Have come here for a few weeks now and can already see the improvement of my son's swimming technique and confidence. The swimming instructors are a little more firm than other toddler or young kids swimming academies and that's a good thing as their ability to swim and improve can be seen and progress cam be observed. People here is very pretentious. They are attentive and nice when you sign up for class, but when you are ready to leave they will start with a different type of attitude toward you and your family. The class is okay. Only 4 kids in the class. There are times when the teacher will let them out at 25 mins. Once they are in the water, they need to continue to swim back and forth not stopping and talking for 3-4 mins before doing another lap. I will not be recommending this place. read more

The instructions are geared towards safety and survival in the water. Why is this important to me? If you take your child to the pool in your community or at a hotel and the accidentally falls in the pool, immediately you go into panic mode, at Gwinnett Swim they teaches the skills needed to handle such situations. When you or your child leaves that facility they will be better equipped to handle themselves in the water. If you see the instructor throw the child in the water, it's to simulate accidents like that. Please be assured the instructor and lead instructor is right there to make sure nothing happens to your child. Sit back and relax your child is in good hands. I was completely honest in my review. Yes my child had 3 absences before we ran into the incident of changing coaches. And I clearly stated that after our vacation we did not return which is obviously why we had so many absences. Our vacation was only one week. That was only 3 missed days due to vacation. The only reason that we stayed a member was because you guys were going to charge us an even higher price if we decided to not be a member. It was not because we wanted to. And I am not lying when I said your coach Michelle yelled at a child. You are not there 100% of the time. You did not witness what I did. It was not the only time she yelled at that same child. I am just informing everyone so they know my experience. There were kind people like I stated in my comment so i am not sure why your so defensive when I'm explaining my experience there. Im so glad we found this place. Prior to this establishment we were at shwim catlanta throwing my money away for two kids that did not progress much if any. At Gwinnett swim we were able to see results and confidence in my 6 year old immediately. He starts with the ASI class. I have only 2 qualms about Gwinnett swim. I can't say they are really qualms bc I understand the reasoning but I have gotten quite a few alerts regarding the pool closing due to contamination. It's contamination I can't blame them and I am grateful for their protocols. I'm not sure what kind of contamination but parents are told not to feed their children 2 hours prior to being in the water and it causes every parent that day an inconvenience. I don't blame them but I get it.. I'd rather my child not swim in a contaminated pool it just seems like it happens fairly often. But it makes me think at schwim catlanta they never closed the pool ever . My other qualm is for the graduation test in ASI the child has to come fully clothed with a jacket and shoes. Now this is the momma bear in me... bc they never practice fully clothed I can only imagine the anxiety the child feels having that extra weight on them for the first time. It was upsetting for me to see my child stressed. Again, I get it - they will be caught off guard if they accidentally fall in the water or are pushed but maaaaan my momma heart I like the one on one attention my child receives and the fact that the lessons are consistent and he has formed a bond with both instructors so he looks forward to his sessions.They honestly have done a great job picking instructors. We love GS. Coach Michelle has taught both of our kiddos how to save themselves through the ASI program. She's patient and loving, but also firm and focused---a perfect combo for my stubborn babies :) Coach Vicky, Coach Ronnie, and Coach Bailey have been instrumental in continuing stroke instruction with my son, and my daughter will be joining with Coach Averie next week. Because of Gwinnett Swim, my children are respectful of the water but also love it; they are confident in their skills while also knowing that they must use caution in order to be safe. (And in response to one of the posts below, they have a strict no photo/video policy to protect all swimmers; not everyone wants their child photographed and possibly posted on social media. Most public and private schools or places that work with children employ these same policies. I've never had a problem asking them to film my child; they're always happy and eager to help!) read more

We came to Cindy at Gwinnett swim when my now 3 1/2 year old was 1. She needed some re-teaching (from a different program) and Cindy was patient and eager to work with her. My daughter loves the water now and I feel comfortable with her being around the pool. We then enrolled my 7 month old son and Cindy and Christy had him floating by the end of the week. He's now 2 1/2 and is fearless when at the pool. We are starting my 9 month old twins with Gwinnett Swim in January. There was no doubt that we would enroll them in swim lessons with Gwinnett Swim. With summer around the corner I need to know that all 4 of my children will be able to swim/float when we spend our days at the pool this summer. Gwinnett Swim is awesome! read more

One of the best investments you can make for your children! It is a time commitment, but it is so worth it! My children were scared to put their faces in the water when we started (at 4 & 2 years old). They did not enjoy the lessons at first, but I knew it was important that they were trained in what to do in case they ever fell in a pool. Now, they are both little fish. They can both swim across the pool! They swim, rest on their backs, then swim again. We continue to train with Gwinnett Swim once a week. I love Gwinnett Swim! We've tried other swim classes that just focus on water acclimation until age 3 and don't focus on survival, and this is a night and day difference from those. Gwinnett swim actually teaches your kid how to float, swim, and stay calm in the water. I can't believe the progress I've seen in just 3 months. I love the teachers and the program at Gwinnett Swim. Both of my children started when they were toddlers, and at 4 and 6 are both doing stroke lessons currently. I have always thought of the teachers as "baby whisperers"! Their teaching method is so effective, calming and consistent. My youngest is doing freestyle and back stroke at 4, and my oldest (6) is doing the same and just added butterfly to his repertoire! read more

Excellent swim school. I enrolled both my kids when they were 10 months and 3 years old. My son didn't want to get his face wet. The instructors made him feel comfortable and were extremely patient. He now loves the water and can roll on his back to float if he's ever in a situation. My daughter the same. She could roll all the way over and float. I felt so comfortable there. Gwinnett Swim is an amazing program for young kids. I started my daughter when she wasn't quite 10 months old and have been so amazed with her progress.
