After meeting Keaton, they took their time on a Saturday to prep my car for a roadtrip (installing skid guard) and told me to come in for something minor a few days later. Without having to wait, they took care of it on the spot at the time we agreed and even put an engine cover on my car without me asking for it. I find Keaton very honest and he's truly passionate about what he does, taking you through nooks and crannies of your car. People rarely talk so passionately about their work like he does. I think Keaton is the type of guy who would work on VWs even if he wasn't paid to do it.. You walk in and feel welcome by the staff.. and the dogs as well!

My car was what could only be described as mechanically "rough"; I bought it about a year ago as somebody else's project and managed to get it running but just barely. Basically, the head needed rebuilding and was in need of a valve job, the engine itself needed rebuilding, the fuel system needed replacing, as well as the brakes and electrical components to get it street legal. Awesome Z was thorough and thoughtful about the whole thing and comparatively speaking surprisingly affordable. There are shops in Houston that say they work on Datsuns but Awesome Z really has a passion for them. Go in there shop and all you'll see are S30 chassis, some S130s, and occasionally more modern Z cars. You'll also find a crew very knowledgeable about the cars they work on will give you plenty of options on which way you want to take your build. I can't wait to continue working with them, they definitely have a customer for life.

For further inspection to finding the problem. once that's over they tell you what's wrong and charge dealership repair fees.. i spent 1717 to get fuel injection put in and and spark plugs, just for a week later my car had same codes and same non starting issues. they find the biggest problem fix it then tell you you can bring it back so they can look at it again just to make more money. i'm dissatisfied because after having my car 4 days they didn't fix the problem they just fixed something other than the problem. i would not suggest this place unless you want to spend a lot of money for nothing. My car still doesn't crank and broke down on me.

After bringing our vehicle to a different auto shop and getting a laundry list of issues with a hefty price tag, a friend told us to bring our vehicle to Salah's for his opinion. Did I mention that this was literally a DAY before we were leaving for a TX to NY road-trip??? Nothing like leaving things to the last minute, eh? I have a 2015 Nissan Altima, and have been having a mass airflow sensor issue for a few months now, I even had it replaced by a friend mechanic back in February 2023, and I thought that would've been the end of my car problems. I was advised to take my vehicle to this little Ma and Pa repair shop in TX City, and thought these guys are experienced; they could fix it. Oh, boy, how wrong was I? Spent about $300 for them to replace the airflow sensor that I had an issue with back in February, only to find out that it worked for one day, and everything went to crap after that. My vehicle started stalling after I stopped at every stop sign, red light, etc. so, my last resort was to take it to the dealership. I open the hood to find a piss poor wiring job done by the shop (the connector for said mass airflow sensor), that even the technician was in shock about, so much so to the point where he almost fainted. The guy who owns the shop said he spent more money and time finding parts, connectors, and any other way they could fix the problem than they did on the actual repair. However, it didn't seem like they did anything more than find wires that hadn't been used in decades, and only ordered crappy after market parts. Thumbs up to them for putting in effort, but not having a car for over a month and still having problems to the point where you have to take it to the dealership won't cut it. I don't advise spending your time and money with these folks.
