It started when the garage door mechanism's light wouldn't work anymore. I called last week and Kurt came to evaluate it. He informed me the whole thing was too old to fix. Last Friday, Cunningham's called and said someone would be out to replace with a new operator system. Tobias arrived and replaced the operator and necessary accessories. He spent time showing me how everything works and making sure I understood. I guess he taught me well as I haven't needed to refer to the instruction booklet he left with me. I'm quite happy now. Recently, the drive belt on our garage door opener wore out. Sent a message to Cunningham on a Friday evening and Monday a tech was there to replace the belt and make sure the door was in good working order. Service was prompt, quick, courteous and reasonably priced. We've called Cunningham in the past to service the door (maybe 10 years ago) and they did a good job then too. Hopefully, we won't need them for another 10 years but if we do, they are the folks I'll call. I like that they are a local, family-owned company that has been around a long time. The service tech said he'd been with them for nearly 20 years (I think) and that says something about a company. Front-line employees that stick around is always a good sign. Multiple people recommended Cunningham Door; I called & left a message on a Sunday. Cindy promptly returned my call the next day & scheduled me for the same morning. Cindy called to tell me Kurt was on his way & also gave me a general idea of an estimate, depending on the problem found. Kurt was pleasant, professional, and very efficient. Thad of Absolute Overhead Door, came out and REPAIRED the unit for $350. Once again Cunningham's saved the day. Needing a sturdy new storm door - not junk from BB - I ordered a door from Cunningham's. It took about a week for the door and the installation men to arrive and put in the new door. My house is over 100 years old so of course nothing is plumb, but the door was installed and looks great. I like the fact that the closer mechanisms (top and bottom) are white to match the door color.
