This was by FAR my worst dining experience ever! I am not even kidding you. And the fact that this restaurant was featured on "Shark Tank" and all the sharks were interested is beyond my imagination. Certainly NOT a fan of Mark Cuban after this (as if I ever was..lol... once upon a time maybe). First of all, I ordered two Cupbop's with absolutely NO rice or noodles. I wanted just straight veggies with my two meat preferences which were Koko (tender Korean beef) and at a small additional fee Korean marinated BBQ beef. I requested the spice level of 9 (as I like my dishes HOT) with the sauce on the side. I did receive two separate small sauce condiment cups for each bop. I did not receive ANY veggies! It was ALL clumped together hard white rice with barely a handful of the KoKo and beef. I even separated it out and took photos for reference so you can see how SMALL the meat portions are! I have never felt so ripped off in my life (and trust me, that's saying something)! I also ordered a side of three Mandoo (which were at least decent), but thank GOD that I requested my Cupbop's sauce on the side otherwise there would have been no sauce for those. I have been to every teriyaki grill, Korean establishment, Japanese..etc..bulgogi...this restaurant is really one that does it ALL wrong! The rice wasn't even edible and I didn't even want it, so it got tossed. Took photos of both Cupbop's meat combined and out of each bop. We will not be hearing about this chain 20 years from now, and more than likely, not ten! My receipt showed my whole order as I requested correctly. What exactly is wrong with the Layton employees? Can they not read? Do they just not care?? This definitely is NOT what was represented on Shark Tank and I'm thinking just like everyone else that gets money and fame too quickly..how QUICKLY they fall! Save your money folks. Teriyaki Grill is where it's at. Next is Q-One in the Layton mall. They at least read instructions though it's a bit too oiled down. Here though....a dumpster could've given me more meat behind McDonald's! read more

I learned on my first ever visit to trust instincts on spicy tolerances. I love how they accommodated the smaller kids size for me and that they helped me to know what level my true tolerance would be for ordering which made for a really great dish. My now husband (he was fiancé when we went) ordered a level 8, and he said that it was the perfect spicy. He ordered 8 so I would maybe try it, and I did, and I think I had some tears. I'm kind of a wimp with spicy, but the flavor that lingered was the standout. It's hard to find that in sauces and they nailed it! They've updated their menu since the last time I've been there. I got the Korean style katsu chicken and it was so good! I'm going to get that and Mandoo every time! I won't reorder the small pieces of fried chicken though because they were quite dry. I'm going to bump it up to a spice level 7.5 next time because the 5 wasn't hot enough for me. My kids (who don't like spice y food) had a spice level 3 and 4 and both loved their food. If you don't already know, make sure to get it sloppy so they put the sauce throughout. read more

I LOVE Cupbop! I first tried them out when they were only a food truck! I love that you are able to customize your order with meats, and sauces! I usually go with the 7.5. It has the perfect amount of spice! Each time I've been in the cashiers have been very friendly. The service is pretty quick, as well. It is never overly busy which I appreciate. The location is clean, and has a lot of space so you never feel overwhelmed. The drinks are fun, as are the desserts. I'd highly recommend adding to your order if you've never tried. I've only been to the Layton location, but I would be interested in trying other locations to see how they measure up! read more

Can't believe we have been going to Cupbop for over a decade now, starting when it was only a food truck with really long lines and very enthusiastic employees yelling Kko Kko bop or whatever was ordered. That said Cupbop has become a regular staple at our house, something even the kids like. Their consistency is great, always good. And their spice levels are really dialed in. I get a 3 which I would call mild with just a hint of a kick, 4 starts to get a little hot. My wife loves the Cupbop and would get it weekly if she could. She tried the Piggy Bop, spicy pork, and I was amazed at how much it changed the flavor, it was really good and different than the Kko Kko bop or B bop. I prefer the B bop and it was on point today. The mandoo side is a must every time, crunchy pot stickers with their sauces and teriyaki sauce is so good. read more

The cupbop in Layton is great. It always tastes good and I've never had to wait in a super long line. I've been a few times for lunch and I don't feel like this place gets a "lunch rush". When I go it's usually around 11:30-12. I feel like the restaurant is a little awkward. It's so big and empty feeling for a little cupbop. It used to be connected with 2 other shops (tacos and a ramen) but now I think it's just a ramen. However you can order ramen and cupbop on the same order and that's really nice when your family wants two different things. If you haven't had cupbop before I would recommend the Rock bop. I always get a level 3 and it's hardly spicy. I can handle up to the spice level of a hot Cheeto.. and I feel like I could go up to a 4 with no problem. read more

In the past, I would always get the Piggy Bop (Pork), but the Tangy Fried Chicken is new, so I tried it and it's my new favorite. My wife said it reminded me of Winger's Sticky Fingers. Those of you who follow me know I don't do 2s and 3s (thanks for the calories), 4s are reserved for great value joints, 5s are for really something special, a place where you might pay $100 / person for a life (night) changing event, or $15 for the best bowl of pho ever. But if you receive a 1 from me you have earned it, and it is not going to be pretty. This is not going to be pretty. So....., I was in a pinch. It was late, I hadn't eaten and just donated blood in Layton. Yes, I was famished. Then I remembered that Cupbop had been on Shark Tank a while ago, and was within sight, and I went there immediately. Rule 1, don't search for food after donating blood! I walked in the door (@6:15 on a Wed night) and it was an empty void. No people anywhere. No customers, no staff, very quiet. So, I walked to the order counter, read the menu, picked my choice, and waited. That gave me time to see that every table was dirty. The floor was dirty, everything was dirty. I should have walked out then. But I was so hungry! Rule 2, don't search for food after donating blood, your senses are dulled! After raising my voice twice a very nice glassy eyed member of the Cupbop team greeted me. I gave the person (gender sensitive here) my order, three times. That means I gave the order, and had to correct what they entered twice (more to follow) before I entered my AMEX to be processed. Figuring I had a moment before my meal was ready I thought it would d be good to wash my hands. I was so wrong.... Rule 3, if the restroom looks like a Caribbean shit-hole, there is a chance the kitchen is too. I gagged several times, kept my hands in my pockets, tried not to touch anything and left the restroom. Rule 4, leave now!!! I watched my glassy eyed host prepare something I really needed. Just some chicken, rice, and light on the noodles, just like I ordered. I'm depending on you. In went the rice, maybe a 1/2 cup. Then the noodles overflowing. I mean there was no room for anything else, but I was wrong. I received one scoop, no greater that a tablespoon, of chicken. It was then we locked eyes. I pathetically asked.."may I have another.." And then the hot sauces, mayo and other stuff I requested not added started pouring over the cup. Rule 5, despite how much you want to hit someone, just remember who you are, how much your granddaughter loves you...but I was so hungry. Let's regroup... I was desperate...very tired...had already paid a total of $13 for a $3 cup of crap... but finally took a couple of bites... J Park and J Song, you have provided me with the most disgusting dining experience of my life. I have eaten in many of the most challenging experiences on 5 continents. All of the Cupbop bowls come with rice, cabbage mix and glass noodles and most of the bowls contain chicken. I think I saw one bowl on the menu with pork. There's also a selection of Ramen dishes to choose from, as well as kimchi and potstickers for sides. I love glass noodles but I don't love plain white rice and my husband is the complete opposite. Cupbop gives you the choice for more noodles/less rice and more rice/less noodles. I go for more noodles and also an additional side of noodles. read more

We had a lot of questions and Marcuis was so patient. He suggested the #3. We ordered that and the Korean corn dog. The number 3 was delish. Perfect crunch on the chicken. We had mild. Just enough heat. (#65) I do recommend maybe more vegetarian or seafood options. That would be nice. They do have some vegetarian options like tofu. The food came out fast. Fast service, clean environment, and solid flavors. We got the Rock Bop (tangy fried chicken), B Bop (bulgogi beef), seaweed salad, and potstickers. The "cup" is more like a bowl, so it's plenty of food. I'm not sure what the sauce is (similar to spicy mayo?), but it's tasty! You get to choose the spice level from 1-10. I think it needed more sauce, but the chicken was deliciously crispy. The potstickers should also come with sauce. I really like Cupbop, but I've been to better locations. My biggest complaint is that they "forgot" to label our 10 orders, and didn't offer any suggestions or ways to make it right. We were left trying to figure it out ourselves but it was almost impossible to know which ones had certain spice levels. They really need to label which is which, and at least not just say "oops" and walk away. Good customer service would've gone a long way for me. The other thing that this location can improve on is the ratios of everything. Instead of having even amounts of rice, noodles, and cabbage, it was pretty much all noodles with a little rice and a couple strands of cabbage. I definitely prefer when they're more equal. Other than that, the flavor was great and I do enjoy the food at Cupbop (I haven't tried any of the other places that they combined with here). read more

Got the garlic ramen, everything tasted delicious except.....they used shredded pork from the taco place instead of chasu pork belly! I checked other Ramen 930 franchise to see if this was normal, it is NOT. The one star isn't for the lone soldier taking orders, filling orders and handling it as best he can. Kudos to this young man holding it down! Orders are backing up and at first glance it seems there's only one person working. Do a quick scan of the room and you'll find a table of 4 other employees sitting at a nearby table seemingly oblivious to the current situation. When I got here it was nearly empty with only two people in front of me. Three seconds after I ordered a flood of people came in. Glad I had already ordered. First time here. Ordered the Tonkatsu Ramen. Didn't know what to expect, but I got a decent sized bowl with some pretty good ramen. My only knock on these guys was there were no proper soup spoons for eating ramen. Not a big deal, just sort of cramped the method of eating I grew up with. The wait for my lunch was short. Then again with only two people in front of me it better be. Decent flavor, good noodles and an excellent broth. More experimenting will reveal if this is a worthwhile place. read more

Ordered here a few times but through door dash and the food is really good, a fresh and you can get it really hot if you want. I love there food. This was my first time in the actual restaurant, and when you walk in, it's very large and smells fresh. The lady who took my order was very friendly and nice. She really took the time to explain the menu to me; and told me her favorite and everything. They have ramen and bomb bowls, literally the best food. The into thing i didn't like about this place was the guy who as working, he was very rude, not to me but to his co worker, she asked him a question and he literally stared at her and walked away? Really how rude was that. I really felt bad for her. I really hope this guy gets retrained. He didn't have to do that to her, that was very rude and very unprofessional. She looked really sad when he did that to her. Besides that; this place is awesome, and for that I'm still giving it a 5 star, i won't allow that one guy to ruin this place. I was a little excited to try this place out with my nieces. Have always heard abt cupbop in SLC, but never tried this location here. We ordered 2 combo bop, 1 b bop & from Ramen 930 I ordered chicken karrage, takoyaki & Japanese style fries. In all honesty, the food was alright but the wait was a little ridiculous. It was busy - but the wait was still way too long. We planned to order more to go for my sister at home - but we didn't wanna bother waiting. The food was okay - I felt a little underwhelmed tbh. The Japanese style fries/chicken karrage were just mehhh - a little disappointing. All of it was lacking flavor - idk. As you walk in it's dark and simple for decor but sometimes simple is nice the seating is very odd due to only 2-4 top tables no booths or separators to seem more private which may be do to cost and or a temp lease. The food is very good for flavor but the price a kinda high for a a hair different in taste and size bs like Panda Express. I like the many different levels of sauces so sweet to hot temp and the flavor they bring is wonderful. The workers should be more consistent on portion my wife's bowl was 1-2" taller in noodles which they pack in and her chicken was was more bite size vs my bowl which was the exact same had alittle less noodles and the chicken was average double in size vs my wife's bowl. The workers were that like shy and not very welcoming but i do not know if they may be newer and just need to get a hang of things or maybe just a bad day but as we walked in nothing said to us until my family and I stated how we have never been there so bear with us and that like initially got them to like wake up in a sort of manner. Honestly, I wasn't overly impressed. The service was good, the staff friendly so no complaints there. The food wasn't great. I got the miso ramen, the ingredients were fine...no half egg though and the pork was chopped too so that was a surprise. I walked away not feeling very well too. My husband and I shared a plate of Gyoza and both of us were I'll that night. I believe it was this and not the ramen since both of us was ill and that was the only thing the both of us had shared. This is a hard one to review for a number of reasons. First off, this is a new three-in-one style restaurant that is pretty rare. This large space houses 3 amazing choices.... * Cupbop -- which is famous for their food trucks and now brick&mortar stores in these parts for their awesome Korean noodles in a cup and sides of Mandoo. * Ramen 930° -- which is new to me, but after trying one of their ramen bowl offerings is one of my new faves. * El Paisa -- which is an amazing mexican food restaurant with a few locations in both Salt Lake City suburbs as well as up North in the Ogden area. They feature all you can eat tacos at their full sized restaurants, alas, that is not available at this mini version of El Paisa. It is fantastic to have all three of these places in one space for excellent choices for dinner no matter what you are in the mood for. For this trip, I ordered a three taco plate from El Paisa and a side order of Mandoo from Cupbop (Isn't mixing it up fun??). I hate to complain about any place that has just opened because they are likely still working on getting it just right, but I must say that my tacos, rice and beans were all very very dry and probably should have been tossed and new, fresh tortillas, meat and rice should have been served. The mandoo from Cupbop however, was PERFECT. So damn good. I could sit and eat 10 orders (and I just might if the mood hits me right!) My son ordered from the Ramen menu and the broth and noodles were tasty. Pork and egg was tender. Very good Ramen. I will definitely be ordering again. They also have a nice salsa/condiment bar available for those folks who want lime/cheese/sour cream etc. on their tacos. Overall, an amazing space with 3 different and delicious restaurants. SO what's the point in offering ramen if you're always out of it?! So I ordered the Veggie bop. In the pictures, there was no sauce. Just noodles, rice and veggies. Perfect. BUT when I got my order it was SOAKED in some mayo sauce! Eeeww! Who puts mayo on broccoli and zucchini? Not sure if that's their attempt at "Mormon-ifying" their food with fry sauce, but no just no. I've been a fan of Cupbop for a very long time. It used to be one of my all-time favorite places to grab food. However, I can't ignore that they have gone downhill the last few years. The fried chicken which used to be so crispy, juicy, doesn't taste homemade anymoree, it now tastes like frozen chicken nuggets tossed in sauce. The ratio off rice, cabbage, and noodles is off too. You're lucky to get any cabbage at all. And on my last visit there was hardly a mouthful of rice in the entire bowl. This is probably my last visit, I've been disappointed too many times. read more

To give this business a two star review is disheartening. We've followed them since they opened up their first food truck yeeeears ago. It was then that we learned their story and fell in love with Cupbop and all it stood for. And now??? My last and final visit was last month after trying their Layton store front several times and a visit to their food truck in hopes of finding the original recipe and deliciousness of the Cupbop we once knew. I get it, businesses grow and it's hard to maintain quality when you grow but they grew too fast and are allowing others to pull their dream out from under them. I've heard from SEVERAL friends and family they feel the same way as we do. I will say it's a decent quick meal on the run and you should give them a go to say you've tried this local business. I suppose those new to Cupbop won't necessarily have the same thoughts as me since I speak from a different perspective having followed them from the beginning. We really liked cupbop. During the pandemic, I was hooked. Once we started going into the physical stores things changed. The interior leaves much to be desired. They have recently raised their prices from $7-$8 to $10-$11. If I am paying that much I want to feel like I am eating in a restaurant, not some thrown-together setup with the cheapest furniture possible and no atmosphere.
