Today was my husband's birthday, and we opted to get a cupcake each for ourselves to celebrate the day, we split all the cupcakes up, so we could taste a little bit of each one, while the cake tasted good, the frosting on every single one of them had a very chemical almost gasoline taste to them. It's horrifying to think what could cause that taste. I got great customer service and the cupcakes were beautiful to look at, but tasted as if gasoline was poured on top. I am a home baker and know what frosting is supposed to taste like......that's why l am a bit worried by the flavor of the frosting. We got chocolate mint, pink champagne, Boston cream(which didn't have frosting so it wasn't that bad), and chocolate mousse. I was so excited to try them, now l just have a headache, and my 3 year old who is a sugar freak, wouldn't even finish hers............l am sadly giving it a bad review, and would never go back. read more

We stop in for the occasional treat thanks for a monthly punch card they have to offer. My kids love getting to pick out the most fun and festive looking cupcake of the day. The shop is quaint, with one bistro table and a couple of chairs. The cupcakes are beautifully made, but flavor profile-wise, I've yet to truly be floored. I'm guessing their main jam is catering/custom cakes, and I can't speak to that part of the biz. From our experiences, the staff has been very kind and accommodating. read more

We moved from Shreveport, LA to the Wash DC area to Omaha. In DC, we could not find cupcakes as good as Shreveport had despite Georgetown in DC having a TV-famous cupcakes place. It wasn't until Omaha that we found cupcakes better. Those cupcakes were near our house in Dundee at Cupcakes Omaha. If you want the best, you have to come here. Cookies and brownies are good, too. (Usually, places don't perfect the trifecta, like they have.) Now, sadly, we've seen the owners treating their young employees with utter contempt. Why does genius require such despicable behavior? Nonetheless, these are the best cupcakes in town, and the folks that work there are great, even if the owners are jerks. read more

Love these cupcakes! We live in the neighborhood so it's tempting to go here more often than we should. Every time we go in, the owner (at least I assume he's the owner) is so friendly and inviting. One time, towards the beginning of COVID, I called to see when they closed and he offered to stay open for another 20 minutes so we could run down and grab some treats. They always have a good variety of flavors and there's a little frosted center in each one. Stopped on a whim ... got the wedding cake, key lime, Carmel, Oreo and peanut butter chocolate. All were delicious. I felt there was good balance between the cake, filling and icing. Down in Dundee for lunch and saw that Cupcake! Omaha had opened a new branch. Only been open about two (2) months. The menu offers about 20 different cupcakes on a regular basis as well as brownies, macaroons, and chocolate candies. Cupcakes are $3.75 each. You get a $5.00 discount if you buy a dozen. Our selection today included peanut butter, pink champagne, French vanilla strawberry, lemon raspberry, just vanilla, lemon, key lime and salted nut roll. I've tried the lemon raspberry so far. Cake was decent sized and very moist. Good icing (I like a lot) with a raspberry jelly filling. The filling tasted just like that in a jelly donut. Cupcake was very good. Not often on this side of town, but when we go back, Cupcake Omaha (Dundee) would be a good spot to stop for dessert. read more

I so wanted a good cupcake and was very excited when I saw that there was easy parking and I was able to get in there, buy a couple of cupcakes and some sea salt chocolate covered caramels and get out. This is a really cute cupcake shop in Dundee! The cupcakes are homemade and the owner was very kind and accommodating. As far as the cupcakes go, there are around 6-8 flavors that seem to be regular flavors on display. NOTE: all of the cupcakes have filling! If you do not like filling, you must call ahead and place a custom order. I tried a lemon cupcake and the cake and lemon filling were good. Totally would not recommend this store! Skimps on frosting, flavors were not very good. I could barely taste the peanut butter expect for the actual peanut butter half cup on the top of my cupcake. The first time visiting this place seemed very promising.  We went in to order a cupcake cake for my daughters birthday.  The guy taking our order said that it should not be a problem.  He stated he did not know what a cupcake cake was so I offered to send a picture via email to the store.  I did.  We paid for the order and left. I sent a couple more emails to them during the week and go no answer. We stopped by a week later to pick up our order and the lady said that they normally don't do these but since we were told they would and already paid, they would honor.  We also stated we sent a couple of emails and she said that they cannot get in their email as the guy who set it up is no longer with the company.  We asked about writing happy birthday and she said that she would not have room.  The guy, as she stated, hardly works there and he needs to be filled in on the details. Really yummy cupcakes. Pretty. Moist. Reasonably priced. Not overly sweet or half frosting like some places. We got pink champagne, Oreo, German chocolate and lemon raspberry. They were all delicious but the pink champagne was extra delicious. We also got dark chocolate sea salt caramels for immediate consumption and they were perfect the only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is the two brownies we got were s little dry in spots. Some parts were wet and gooey and then there would be a dry crumbly patch. Odd. Still good but odd. Maybe better wrapping. Woman who was working was a sweetheart. Perfectly pleasing. I brought home two salted caramel, one apricot and one creamy coconut macaroons. I also bought a Boston creme cupcake. Moments after giving the cupcake to my wife the plate was clean. I meant to make the macaroons last, but couldn't help myself after biting into the apricot, which was also my favorite. Among the better macaroons I've had--they were crispy on the outside, delicate, and chewy in the center, and flavored true to their description. Can't go wrong with this bakery. read more

I have always ordered through the old Market location (it's gone) I went down to there yesterday, it's gone! And I discovered they were not even open on Black Friday! Then I asked for my order 54 cupcakes, I was informed they would only sell me 18! Then she agreed to 24, and I could only get a max of 3 in each flavor! I asked about the The ones that I saw in the extra case she informed me that it was only 11 AM and that was all she had to sell and I could not buy all of them if I wanted them I am sorry I am self-employed and I do promise you everything that we have on our sales lot or trucks available for Dispatch can go any of the hours that we are open and also a few we are not and wet then finally got me was she actually had the gall to inquire if I wished to tip? I don't think so I called another cupcake business on my way out to my sons house and they gladly got 36 together for me in order for my baby shower for my daughter-in-law to be great. I went into the store to order a cake for a graduation party. I arrived to pick it up and it was wrong flavor/color of icing on the cake. The "manager" behind the counter was very rude when I said the cake was not correct. No attempt was made to fix it. She discussed it with the owner and I was basically told to take or leave it. The website listed that size cake at $65 and when I asked about the price I was told it was $75 and the website was wrong and she stated they had no control over their website (interesting). I was told I could have my wrong cake at a generous discount of $10 bringing the price to $65. So I left the cake. Anywhere else in town, had they messed up, would have worked with you and given the cake to you for half price or even free, but not here. I will not be back! read more

I love Cupcake! Omaha in Old Market downtown and was so excited that there was a branch near me in Dundee. I've only been there 3-4 since March, and the cupcakes are just okay. But mostly I don't go there because the teenage girl that has been working there, every time I go in, she is very unhelpful, not nice, and when my mom asked her which cupcake she recommended she stated "I don't know, I hate sweets." You're selling cupcakes for goodness sakes!!!! At least attempt to put a smile on, greet me when I enter the store, and be a smidgen cheerful. Cute curb appeal. But really feel ripped off: no place to sit in the shop ( young lady points to a slab of granite outside-- outside temp was 30 degrees, thanks). She told us that there was another cupcake type just coming out of the kitchen. We waited excitedly. Grabbed one of them and another and took them over to the coffee shop across the street so we could sit down and eat them. Yikes! They were still frozen! Yes, that's right.
