I love our local bakeries, but this place is an absolute gem. It's not inexpensive, but prices are comparable to a lot of bakeries. You can get individual gourmet cupcakes for $4, or buy 3 for $12 and get one free. My salted caramel cupcake was amazing. The cake itself is the best tasting chocolate cake I've had, and so moist (I said what I said!) The frosting was perfect as well, not too sweet with distinct flavor. My sons inhaled their cupcakes. Their macarons are bigger than usual, and $2 a piece which is typical, or you can buy 5 and get the 6th free. I tasted one of my sons' watermelon macarons. Big watermelon flavor. I didn't buy any cupcakes (I have the superpower of eyeing cupcakes and knowing whether I'd like them or not). I bought hot chocolate bombs to give my whole family for Christmas and a few for myself. I've had two peppermint hot chocolate bombs and I really liked the taste. I also bought cookies, edible cookie dough, and a frosted sugar cookie bar. They satisfied my sweet tooth. Overpriced, average baked goods. I had a party in Ellicottville a few weekends ago and ordered several desserts for a birthday. They shop is cute and everything looks delicious in the cases but I thought the taste was just average. The bars were really good and would recommend those out of all of the desserts. Simply the best cupcakes and macarons in all of western NY. The hot cocoa macaron is BY FAR my favorite, unless they have their chai option out, then that one takes the cake. I don't like when cupcakes hardly have any frosting at all, and I never have this problem with Cupcaked. A very generous amount of frosting! S'mores cupcakes, chocolate dream, cannoli, and every fruity cupcakes I've tried are simply amazing. This is such a cute local bake shop! The decor is fun and chic in a rustic way. They have a small table of non bake stuff to purchase including tiny cupcake erasers, cupcake lip gloss and cupcake pencils! I was ecstatic to see those because of the nostalgia. If you don't want to read my long review, my main points are the frosting is crunchy and too sugary and the cupcakes have little to no filling. Hubby and I got a 4 pack for $12. One cupcake is $4 so you mind as well try a couple and get a 4 pack! One thing I will note now, the buttercream topping is quite sugary. It reminded me of frosting rather than buttercream. Tips for the business- Champagne Raspberry Cupcake -The raspberry butter cream is phenomenal! The cake itself is just basic vanilla and no filling. The buttercream was a little crunchy, but had so much raspberry flavor, I didn't mind much. Almond Raspberry -The cake part was yummy and tasted just like almond. The buttercream tasted plain and old. It was also crunchy. I don't know why they didn't use the raspberry buttercream they used on the champagne raspberry cupcake! Missed opportunity. There was a minor amount, disappointing amount, of raspberry gel on top of the buttercream and inside the top of the cupcake. When looking at other pics on their yelp page, I saw much more raspberry gel on top. So, it seems as though there's some inconsistencies. Hubby got the Mint Chocolate and Peanut Butter. His experiences were the same as mine and he agrees the cupcakes weren't really worth the price. We also got a teeny, tiny and so cute Cannoli Tart! The cannoli filling didn't taste like traditional cannoli. It was missing something. With all that being said, we wouldn't go back. Cupcaked is more than just cupcakes--it is a sugar-explosion to the senses! I don't eat sugar, but gladly fantasy-ate my way through the cases, as everything here looked so pretty and delectable. Cupcaked is this cute little cupcake boutique in Elicottville! They also offer pastries, cookies and designer cakes! Just prepare to pay for the wonderful art that they have mastered! I selected the strawberry cheesecake cupcake, my wife got herself a couple different truffle flavors in order to try multiple things. The cupcake was good but incredibly misnamed. There was no strawberry and no cheesecake involved in this tasty treat. The cupcake body was a standard white cake style, and the frosting was cream cheese cheesecake style with a hint of strawberry. The truffles came in a variety of flavors: oreo cookie dough, and peanut butter. All three were excellent and I would recommend any of them individually. I love going to local bakeries and this one was so cute! The folks who helped us were very nice and there were samples of sugar cookies to try. I purchased a red velvet with cream cheese frosting that I ate later in the day. The "red velvet" wasn't red at all. It looked almost brown (something I don't remember in the shop so maybe it was the lighting?) which seemed strange. The cream cheese frosting was DELICIOUS but the actual cupcake was completely bland. I was surprised there was no note of vanilla or anything with the cake. It was pleasantly moist and a decently baked cupcake but no flavor. I am trying to remember if I got a gluten-free or natural dye cupcake because maybe it would explain the issues with the cupcake. It's the highlight of a trip skiing or a stop in for a festival. Amongst the 20 or so total Ellicottville places, this place should be a mandatory stop. The shop is quaint and warm. Seating for about 10 or so if you snuggle and smells awesome (cupcakes, not necessarily those you're snuggling). Now to its namesake - the cupcakes crush it. The kids grabbed a cookies and cream type cupcake, the spouse a caramel and myself, banana PB deal. All of them were spectacular. They're about $4 a piece but get one for free if you buy 3 ($12 for 4). If you eat them there, you get a handy dandy cup and spoon to indulge with.
