It is a Swedish bakery on the south side of Jamestown. My wife was looking forward going to Ecklof for a long time, on the hunt for scorpors (baked coffee cakes). In the mean time I looked around and do they have a lot of good looking baked goods. Sorry, I forgot to take pictures. They also serve breakfast. We decided to split a special: a breakfast sandwich on a Kaiser roll, with a fried egg (made just right, just a little bit runny), plenty of really crispy bacon and pepper jack cheese (or whatever cheese you prefer). It looked a bit like an egg mcmuffin, but way, way better. It comes with a medium coffee. If you pay cash, they take about 3% off, probably the amount a credit card company charges them. I love this bakery. We always stop here whenever in the Jamestown area for the little cupcakes and donuts. I like that they actually put the goodies in a nice pastry box instead of just throwing them into a bag. With a long car ride back to Philly, we've never had damaged cupcakes:) the folks who work here are always really nice and patient while I'm looking around and can't decide what I want. This is a Swedish bakery. I was on the hunt for scorpors, a delicious bakery treat. It is created by sliced, baked coffee cakes. It is a dry "cookie", and depending on the flavor of the coffee cake it is made from, from plain to cinnamon to chocolate filled, a delicious treat. I almost did not see the scorpors as in this bakery they are pre-packaged, not in the display case. Cinnamon scorpors. Delicious. Besides buying some baked goods in addition to the scorpors, we had a delicious and very hot bacon, egg and pepper Jack cheese breakfast sandwich on a Kaiser roll. Each breakfast sandwich includes a cup of coffee, and if you pay with cash, there is a small discount. It is most likely the amount the credit card companies charge; very nice that this is passed on to the consumer(just over 3%). Definitely not enough Swedish bakeries close by and that this one is both a bakery and breakfast and lunch restaurant is a plus. read more

I was watching the weather channel and saw a scrolling ad for this bakery and deli. They were advertising their fresh paczki! I went in and the deli was closed sadly and they were sold out of paczki :( HOWEVER, an older Gent there said they have the best paczki and amazing beef on weck. He said that's why they were sold out. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. Very nice clean place. Reasonable prices! We got: Oatmeal peanut butter cookies~ nice crispy sweet and salty with a great peanut butter frosting middle. 9/10 Iced raspberry filled donuts~ phenomenal! Juicy with plenty of filling! 10/10 Chocolate angel creme' donuts~ nice and light. Great flavor and texture. 10/10 Shaggy Dog mini cake~ so cute and yummy. Yes, times change, things are not how we remember, but a "mom and Pop" needs on keeping the quality and sizes the same. Downsizing the size and raising prices does not work. Best donuts in town and I'm willing to die on this hill. Best raspberry filled donut and strawberry cheesecake donut ever. They also have amazing square stuffed cupcakes. I will never, ever, EVER say a bad word about Ecklof's. Aside from them being an institution, they are the one place I look forward to the most when coming back to visit. Another amazing donut discovery on our Midwest/Western NY roadtrip. Well, I suppose I can't say this was a discovery since my husband tipped me off to these, but they were a first time for me. This is an old school bakery and diner in Jamestown. They serve all kinds of baked goods - not just donuts. We got there at about 11am and they were almost sold out of everything, which is a little crazy. F-in' early birds. I got some vanilla crunch, maple glazed, cinnamon cake, and chocolate frosted cake donuts. I really only can eat one donut in a sitting, and we were on our way to the airport, so I had to make a choice of which donut I was going to eat. MAPLE GLAZE, MOTHERFUCKERS. It was really good. It has a cake donut base. The maple glaze was delectable, and the inside of the donut had moderate lightness. Really tasty stuff. It made me wish I had a bigger stomach so I could have tried the vanilla crunch. We will be back here once we return to Chautauqua Lake, for sure. read more

I'm surprised there is only one review. Their baked goods are phenomenal. I actually went there today (after going to AJ's) as I am home visiting my parents and bought three dozen cookies. My must-haves are pink stripe, curbstones, and oatmeal peanut butter. My mom always got our birthday cakes here when I was growing up and they are tasty. I've been here for lunch once and had a panini that was good. I like that they have expanded their business and have created a bigger market for their food. My family has been buying baked goods from Ecklof's for decades. We love everything they make but our personal favorites are the almond tarts, salt rising bread, Bismarcks, and donuts. I ordered a tray of 6 dozen cookies for a baby shower this weekend. Not only were they delicious but they were beautifully displayed on a tray. So yummy! I have heard wonderful things about this place so I decided to stop. My mom and I shared a tuna melt panini and it was wonderful. The service was nice and the food came out quick! We were in and out of there in no time. My son had a tuna sandwich kids meal. The bread was a little big for him, so I think next time I'd order a half panini for him. Absolutely delicious cupcakes and cookies at incredibly reasonable prices. Childhood nostalgia buoys my enthusiasm for this bakery, but my travel partner equally enjoyed his chocolate cupcake with peanut butter filling, as I did my white cupcake with cream filling. The frosting and filling were both sweet and sugary, but not overwhelming, and the chocolate frosting was reminiscent of brownie icing. All were amazing and under a dollar. She touched the paper that she puts in the bottom of the box before putting in the donuts.
