I called around to several bakeries in the area and no one could make what my daughter was requesting, which is a simple gold and white cake and from what we learned a lot of the bakeries don't carry gold icing. We walked in here and spoke to the baker directly and she was confident that they could deliver what my daughter was requesting and envisioning. I could've placed the order right then and there but I told her we will discuss exactly what it is she definitely wants on the cake and we will submit the order online with the exact image from Pinterest that my daughter finds. I submitted the order online and followed up with several calls regarding the confirmation that they could deliver the cake but I never heard back from anyone after 2 weeks because only the owner has access to the website. I called again and spoke to a team member regarding my order and she confirmed it was received and that they can make the cake for us. I received a quote from the baker when I was in the store and a quote from the owner and asked why did I get different quotes. The lady taking orders couldn't hear through the glass so she was asking people to point at the cupcakes they wanted and they didn't work so well either. Guy ahead of me was asking about the gluten free cupcakes that were marked gluten free but the girl told him they're not gluten free they're vegan. Cupcake wise I ordered 4. They weren't as fresh as I remember, the actual cake wasn't as soft but they were still good. The labels on the glass didn't match a lot of the cupcakes ordered. It's been a long while since I dropped in here...but I finally made the time to stop in and grab 4 fatty assortment of cupcakes (2 for me, 2 for my Big Daddy...I only wish my son was still living with us so I could have grabbed 2 for him as well). As always, there were plenty of tantalizing flavors of cupcakes to choose from...as well as other snack varieties (mostly cookies?). I noticed that they downsized the boxing (no longer in the pretty pink or brown motif), but guess it's understandable due to Covid. Still, the cupcakes are as luscious as ever. By now, both my husband and I finished our cupcakes at home. BTW, I'm a huge fan of their Red Velvet, so that's always a staple. I tried the Oatmeal flavor (which comes with a mini cookie topping!)...and loved that as well. My husband loved his Double Strawberry and the Caramel flavored cupcakes. In short, we loved them ALL!! Cupcrazed is my favorite brick-and-mortar cakery in the Charlotte area (driving to Fort Mill is only a short trip, but worth it). My love for the business started when I first moved to Charlotte and the owner treated me to one of her delicious chocolatey jumbo cookies (those things used to sell out fast). I of course bought some cupcakes because, even when I'm gifted food, I love to support businesses. I was hooked - it was clear WHY Cupcrazed cupcakes are award-winners: they're moist, flavorful, creative and taste like they were made with love. I was sad when the Woodlawn location closed, but I make it a point to visit the Baxter Village location whenever I can. The cupcakes are reasonably priced for the size and quality. The store is always decorated with fun or seasonally relevant decor and customer service is fantastic. I recommend Cupcrazed to anyone who dubs themselves a "cake snob" like me. In the beginning when I started going there things were excellent but over time the cupcakes became inconsistent with texture, taste and customer service. I wrote a review then which the previous owner didn't like and I decided I wouldn't go again. Now fast forward to today and below is my updated review. I said to myself many years ago that I would never patronize Cupcrazed again because of their inconsistency, lack of customer service skills and a former owner who honestly did not like any type of constructive criticism. Well, my wife and I were recently back at Cupcrazed and I'm still not a fan. The cupcakes we got were the Caramel Bacon and Red Velvet. The cupcakes were slightly stale and the bacon portions were smaller than I remember which may be okay for some. However, it's not close to how Cupcrazed touts themselves as the winners of Cupcakes Wars on Food Network. It seems that they rely heavily on a remarkable achievement but they don't bring that seem energy and passion to the consumers here. I personally think that there are better options for cupcakes other than Cupcrazed that are always consistent, well priced and customer service is a priority. This is a delicious sweet spot located in Fort Mill. They do not have a parking lot but you can use the street parking to access the bakery. I found this place on a whim I wanted something sweet and looked up some local bakeries. They have a variety of sweet treats in gluten free and vegan options or you can get the regular made. They offer several different flavors ranging from Oreo, classics like red velvet, to cake batter. They offer cookies ice cream cinnamon rolls to take home and bake etc.. I picked up some cupcakes for my coworkers and I quite enjoyed death by chocolate and the strawberry cupcake. My co worked enjoyed the cupcakes. The carrot cupcake was a little dense and not as airy probably not a good batch but they choose to serve it anyway. They have a rewards program and they offer two dollar discount on Tuesdays. This is one of our favorite spots. We've been to south Caroline 3 times now and we make it here at least once each trip, if not multiple times. Every trip we bring cupcakes home for my family as well. We always get a mixed dozen so I can't recommend specific ones because they are all delicious. We got them for my mother in laws birthday this year as well on this trip and I really enjoyed the birthday cake cupcake. The stuffed cookies are amazing. This trip we had Oreo, s'mores, and birthday cake. All equally as amazing. I have not been disappointed yet when we make the trip and cannot wait to come back. I've been here several times and I usually have issues. The cupcakes I've had are either dry, stale, misshaped or they taste like. (I bought banana, bubble gum and vanilla one time. They all tasted like vanilla) My last visit I tried macaroons. Ick! They were tasteless, hard and crunchy. I've had a few good cupcakes but mostly disappointed in the rest of them. This placed USED to be good, but the owner, Wendy, is a nightmare and the cupcakes have no flavor except chocolate. I ordered a s'mores cake for my son's birthday and it was just chocolate with regular icing, VERY disappointing! The owner, Wendy, yelled at me on the phone when I called 3 days in advance to see if I could pick up the cake 3 hours earlier on the pickup date. Wendy had a bad attitude when she answered the phone, and it only got worse from there. I actually had to tell her to STOP yelling at me, and that no one was attacking her. I have no idea how this nightmare of a woman is still in business. The ONLY saving grave in this place is the employees! The young woman who was working when I picked up the cake was very nice and helpful. If you could take out the owner and just deal with the employees it would be a LOT better! I also bought 4 cupcakes when I was there, because it was $2.00 Tuesday. The flavors I got were Chocolate Raspberry and 3 Musketeers. One cupcake had a piece of 3 Musketeers on top, and the other had a Raspberry on top, other than that they were chocolate flavored, which was disappointing. I decided to come check this bakery out after my coworkers brought me back some. It's located in Baxter Village of Fort Mill near my work. The second I stepped in I was immediately struck by the wonderful smell of cupcakes and cookies. Their display of cupcakes are at the very front of the store when you walk in. I went with the half dozen assortment of your choice for around $15, but I believe they run $2 cupcake deals on Tuesday. I also purchased a couple cookies as they were on a $1 special for Monday. I'm not sure what all the specials consist of for the week. But my goodness the cookies were delicious, you could split them open and they were stuffed with either Oreos or pumpkin batter. I didn't get a chance to eat the cupcakes as I decided to give them as a present to my friend who was having a bad day. I came to visit from Los Angeles to see my mother, and she was excited to take me here. We stopped by the Fort Mill location on 2/9. The treatment I received from Rachel, the manager, was appalling. From the moment I walked in, she ignored us multiple times when we spoke, walked away from us while we were speaking, and treated us with utter disrespect. We left due to the treatment, but this was disrespectful enough that I had to come back. She didn't have the courage to even acknowledge me, and refused to come speak to me. She continued to send out one of her employees, who was so kind and respectful, to answer for her behavior. For context, my mother and I are both African-American women, and a young Asian woman was present before us. Rachel treated the young Asian woman with the utmost respect. It is an unfortunate reality that some African-Americans treat other African-Americans with disdain due to their own relationship to their Blackness, which is to say that despite my disappointment with Rachel's behavior, I have compassion and empathy for the degree of suffering she must carry on a daily basis in order to treat any human being in this manner. That amount of pain and suffering she carries far exceeds the disrespect I encountered in that singular moment. This really is a beautiful establishment, and I feel sad that there are people with this sort of negative energy are representing this company publicly. My understanding is that the owner's name is Wendy. As the area continues to grow and change, bringing new talent, perspectives, and expectations for decorum, it will become increasingly unacceptable for this type of behavior to persist.
