The staff here is so representative of the Bryan/College Station mom and pop that I grew up with! I called a few days before I visited to see if they had any copies of the latest Harry Styles album and they did. They also let me know they had complimentary posters with purchase. Yes, I paid the premium on the album but I also was able to support a small business. The sweet woman at the counter also threw in a pin and a sticker with the poster. I would absolutely recommend this place and the location is great! read more

Best record/cd store around here. The workers (and I'm assuming owners too?) were very helpful and kind. I was looking for a very specific and sort of niche album on CD that showed it was in their inventory on the website. They helped me look for it for a whole 10 minutes, but we couldn't find it. But they have a nice little list you can put your number on so they can contact you if they find it after you leave the store. The atmosphere is very nice in the store and they have a listening room which I haven't checked out yet but looked very neat. 5 stars, I recommend coming here if you enjoy collecting vinyls. read more

If I could give the store 0 stars, I would. The owner was very rude. We came in to sell a few valuable collector Beatle Albums. All albums were in great working condition with some wear on the album covers. Being a collector, we knew the value and rarity of these albums. Really and truly, we were wanting to see if she would come close to the market value. The owner asked me personally and then my family what we are wanting to sell them for. While I responded, "What are you willing to offer." She hesitated with a loud sigh. Another customer overheard, shook his head in disbelief. He was interested and possibly wanting to purchase the albums. He began talking to my mother. The owner aggressively piped up and said, "This is my sale!" In the end, the owner was only wanting to purchase all the albums for a few bucks. As a collector, you know, that's not an honest business practice. When my mom told her we sold the other album for $750, she aggressively put her hands out and literally shooed us out of her store saying, " Just go somewhere else and sell it!" (I'm still shocked that she would have the audacity to physically put her hands out and motioned us out.) It was inhumane and very disrespectful. I would never step foot in this store again and neither should you! read more

I have been looking for the past two days for Taylor Swift's folklore: the long pond studio sessions on vinyl, and couldn't find it anywhere online, as it was sold out. I was thrilled to find it at Curious Collections in Bryan, TX. The shop had a great selection of vinyls, and the staff was knowledgeable and friendly. This place is just amazing! Best selection of original rare vinyl, best selection of 78rpm records i e ever seen, and over all its capped off with a fantastic atmosphere and a wonderful staff! The people there have always been helpful towards me and theres never been a single time where i felt like they did not genuinely care about customer satisfaction or quality of their services/products. There are some weaker areas, the turn table selection is slim pickings and sometimes prices tend to be a little high for records with significant damage, but these issues are so minor when compared to all the other outstanding parts of this business. I have been able to return any record i believed wasn't up to the quality i expected from them, no questions asked. They're all too generous and willing to help you out as best as you can. Overall, if you're a fan of vinyl or records or just quality small businesses you should take your time and money towards curious collections, id say its one of the best locally owned places in the Bryan/College Station area! read more

Decent place with ever-improving selection. But their prices on used inventory are steep compared to the competition.

My husband and I purchased speakers from this store. We were upfront and honest about not living in the area and wanted to know if we could return the speakers if there were any issues. And we were guaranteed that we could. We came home tried out the speakers and there was popping going on with the speakers. So we called up the store and told them we wanted to return the speakers, and were told that there would be a refund issued when they received the speakers. Weeks later, no refund, email, or call saying they received the speakers. We called and were told they did in fact receive the speakers and should see a refund on our card within the next one to two business days... one week later, lo and behold no refund was issued. Called the store again, turns out they do not do any refunds after telling us that they did. But they can issue a store credit... so thank you curious collections. For lying great store. read more

This place was great! My husband and I recently got a record player, and since we were in Bryan to visit, we stoped by and what an amazing place! I was very excited to find a record store in college station when it popped up on google so I rushed over to go and see what I could find. What I found was a decent sized collection of records that most people haven't heard of or want and a handful of good stuff. Out of the good stuff It all seemed overpriced. I grabbed Herbie Hancocks Head Hunter record of the shelf hoping to take it home finding it was marked as 40 dollars, so I took out my phone and looked at discogs a large catalogue of vinyl records. What I found was the record I was holding in the condition it was in and the oressing that it was really only had a value of around 15 as an average from a large number of sellers. The store is nice with a decent sized collection and as they grow older the content of that collection will get better but the method of pricing needs to be changed drastically to get more repeat customers. read more

This store is mostly records and oils, at first I thought it was actually antique nick-nacks. I actually stumbled here with the intention to buy a old table but it was a surprise to see only records. Name might confuse you but this was the BEST thing that has happened to me while living here. This store is AMAZING. The worker is so helpful and nice, I will definitely be coming back and encourage everyone to go in at least once while in college station!!! read more
