I was able to get him in the same week. To say he had a blast would be a huge understatement. He wants to go every week now. The atmosphere and coaches they have are great. They basically create different types of LEGO robots. My son could probably do these kits at home unassisted so the instructor recommended we try a more challenging class next week. I like that they have different options like this. When we picked him up we brought his siblings and all of them wanted to stay. We are going to check out an evening workshop sometime soon. Really nice place, organized concept and good staff. Would be nice to have weekend class options... maybe later once they've been open awhile.

I worked at home and we are extremely cautious with covid. My daughter got covid the first week starting at this center and found out later on that the staff told other parents that my daughter "gave it to everyone" even though the teacher had just gone on vacation and tested positive but wasn't showing symptoms... whatever. So needless to say we started off on a bad foot but unfortunately there was no light at the end of the tunnel. My daughter had extreme blistering diaper rash in their care. I would get it cleared up over the weekend and it was clockwork by Tuesday she had it again. When you put your 1 year old in their car seat and they scream at the top of their lungs because their butt is literally raw it's infuriating. I would say something in the morning when dropping her off, I would call during the day, I would email and NOTHING changed until I threatened to pull her from their care. She is at a new center and has NEVER had diaper rash since being in the new facilities care. They have an app that i thought would be fantastic....how great to receive photos of your child all day and get updated on how they are doing. Wrong! I would get an update of what she ate that day and sometimes they would also send a picture of her eating. Well, the photo never matched what it said she was eating which was extremely concerning. I understand that when a toddler starts daycare they are going to get sick a lot. But in the 5 months of us being in their care my daughter was always sick. Parents weren't notified if kids in the class were sick. My daughter threw up in her crib one night and had a horrible stomach bug (which then our entire house got) but after she was better and I brought her back the lady at the front said "oh she got it too".... I was in shock. Our new facility lets us know if any kid in the entire school gets sick and what it is-parents are notified in the app and on the front door of the center. The learning experience only notified us when it was covid. If it wasn't covid, good luck and be prepared to use a lot of your work sick time. A couple of reasons I think my daughter may have been sick all of the time could have been because I would send her to school with her cup LABELED because I do what I'm supposed to and they send her out with another child's cup. I get it kids may drink out of another kids cup but it didn't only happen once, it happened all of the time. She came home in other kids clothes(I had 3 changes of clothes there) , with other kids sheets(they had 2 extra sheets) - which is also extremely frustrating when you do label everything and then you don't get your stuff back because it went home with another kid but they don't know who. The kicker and what made me pull her from their care was for the 2nd time I picked her up and she smelt like poop when I was putting her in her car seat. The minute I got home I changed her and she had a clean diaper but she had poop in her pants. Mind you she had 3 changes of clothes as backup.... So you are telling me my poor baby has been in poopy clothes for who knows how long. She has been sitting on toys, chairs, the floor....her poo particles were on everything. NO WONDER she was always sick. I called immediately when I saw and the teacher said she didn't notice. This was the second time it had happened and the next day I emailed them letting them know she wouldn't be returning. As a new mom you don't know what to expect and what is "acceptable". I didn't know if I was overreacting so I asked friends and none of them could believe the standard of the learning experiences care. The reason we chose this center was because of the tour Ms. Jessica gave us- she made us feel at home and you could really see the passion she had. Unfortunately Ms. Jessica isn't the one watching your children. If you say anything to Ms. Courtney good luck on that information being relayed to the people that need to know about it. Oh and good luck on getting your emails returned- that was always like pulling teeth. I highly recommend you keep looking for care elsewhere!

They work with any age and any skill level. They're flexible when you have an unexpected occurrence as far as adjusting schedules and sometimes even doing make up days. Always communicate with them and everything will be fabulous. When my son started with Matt Smith here 4.5 years ago, I contacted Matt through e mails to make sure he was okay with teaching autistic children. He assured me and it has been the best experience for my son. You're not just a number and dollar signs here. You're family.

My favorite part of this school is seeing the different age groups working with and learning from each other. I can feel at ease knowing my active son has flexibility where he does his work. Because of this, I saw his love for learning grow quickly. He started wanting to sound out words and learning place value at age 3. The community at this school is unlike any other - we're diverse in our backgrounds but all completely appreciate the independence and unity us and our children all feel at this school. Ms. Maria goes above and beyond for her students and families. The biggest blessing we've experienced for our kids' education is hands down, Montessori Villa.

They take kids on at a VERY early age. Why does that matter? Well, you can pay similar (or more) money for someone that is basically a half-step above keeping your kid alive. OR you can pay for this place and have your kid have enriching programs that give them an amazing head start on school. My son was reading and doing addition and subtraction when he was barely 4. I never knew who was going to be there. The sheet they log everything on was incorrect almost every day even after speaking with the teachers and staff multiple times. I asked to watch the cameras on a certain day because the way the sheet was written I was worried my baby got someone else's bottle. Well their camera was down at the time I needed to see. And they constantly try to dismiss any of my concerns saying oh it's a translation issue as the teachers don't speak/understand English very well... Or no that didn't happen it's fine. A teacher wore a ton of perfume and my baby came home with very red cheeks all the time. I asked about it and they said they're allowed to wear perfume and the director was rude when I asked about it. I would think the infant room would be no perfume/lotions because of their sensitive skin and they're being held a lot. (Side note the original director is the reason we chose this facility. New one is not the best.) My child was fed things I did not send without asking me and I only found out about it in passing. They tried to teach my baby to hold their bottle on their own and had them propped up and when I walk in all I hear is them sucking air. I made it clear this was not okay yet it happened multiple times since. A few times I went to pick up and my baby is in an exersaucer with a tablet in front of them while the afternoon teacher cleans...very much not okay. One time they were even doing makeup while he watched the tablet... seriously at 6 months old? I cannot even tell you how often my baby got sick at this facility. I know daycare babies get sick but I was called SO many times to leave work because he was sick again. Our pediatrician told us we need to find a new daycare as they probably don't clean properly. I have friends with babies in daycare and they've been sick but not even half as much as my baby was. They put my baby in a random onsie with nothing else on a few times because they said I didn't have anymore change of clothes.. I showed them the bag with his name on it with 5 changes of clothes in their bin. That room is freezing, not okay. I could go on and on. Overall my husband and I hated this daycare experience and worked it out to where I could stay home. Baby hasn't been sick since and is much happier overall.

By the Montessori method, children have a curriculum developed and guided by their natural…read moreinterests and what they choose to work with each day - BUT, I never had any updates or information about what my son was learning about or how he was progressing. There was NO calendar stating anything relating to curriculum or even themes that may be involved with. Teachers seem annoyed if you try to talk to them. Most of the time, there is nobody at front desk that you can speak with either. Most of the "Assistant Teachers" were very young, seemed inexperienced, and aloof. I had a teacher assistant tell me my son refused to help clean up - so she "took him into the baby room, so he could be a baby". I then went to the director to ask about this, and she denied they would ever reprimand a child in that way. I told her several times that an assistant teacher just told me this - and she just looked at me perplexed. No apology or explanation was ever offered and so this was his last day to attend Springwood. (The reason why I found this whole situation a bit weird - is that the assistants only speak to you if spoken to - and she wasn't going to tell me he was reprimanded until I asked how his afternoon was that day). My son was often dirty when I would come pick him up (VERY dirty face and hands). Literally - dirt smeared on his face. I know kids get dirty but - we all know that washing hands is important to help fight germs and colds. He often seemed very thirsty (and I won't go into the long story of the response I got from his teacher when I asked if she could ask him to drink a bit more fluids). I support the idea of discovery through independent play, but there also needs a balance of thoughtfulness and care - not just in the materials to work with in the classroom. I want to be clear that I like Montessori, and I think this school just has some issues that needs to be worked on. (My son was 3 years old while attending this school, and attended for about 5 months)
