I was able to visit Hapoy Hound before dropping our Dobby off and felt the location was very warm and friendly. It is not thr Ritz Carlton if dog hotels but the staff were very friendly and provided me updates while we were away. They have a board they put up of each dogs meals and who can play with who. The backyard is very large so lots of running around to be had. My pooch wears a FI collar so we could see when he ate/drank/barked and ran around. When we picked him up he seemed like he had a great time and no behavior issues (in fact maybe a little better behaved). I would definitely recommend this place if your in the Monroe area. I know we will be bringing Dobby back for play dates

Maybe 8 years or so ago, it was the worse place I've ever seen in terms of how they took care of their reptiles, but it has become much better on that front. But in terms of customer service, it's so bad. All three employees I saw today seemed inconvenienced by me even being there, let alone asking for help for something. I had asked to hold one of the rats, and I'm aware they are there as feeder rats for reptiles, but I was looking to get two as pets as I've had them in the past, but the way the lady handled them disgusted me. She had pulled one by its tail to get it closer to her to pick it up, which can cause literal spinal injuries. Maybe she thought I just wanted it as a feeder, but either way they're treated horribly, let alone the conditions of where they're kept in. And the rabbits as well, how they're kept all together in the tiniest enclosure is insane. You'd expect local businesses to thrive to be better than chain pet stores, but apparently not. I do appreciate how they support the local shelters though by helping fund things like the pet food pantry on Desiard, but the negativities of the customer service and enclosures weigh quite heavy.

This incident was very surprising because I have used Happy Tails West to board my dog many times and have never been met with such animosity and disrespect! The manager on duty (Quin) got an attitude with me when I complained that I had been trying to reach them for the last 48 hours and no one responded to my messages. My plans had changed due to employment requirements. I am an active duty service member. I needed to pick my dog up two days earlier than planned. The way I was treated today was so frustrating. I mean...my dog was probably treated better than I was today. Smh What has customer service come to? Then, to top it all off I was told to get out, and Quin threatened to call the police on me. For what? Because you're not trained on conflict resolution and how to handle customer complaints to ensure customer satisfaction?! After I was told to get put, I explained to them that I still needed to pay....Here I go again trying to be the honest broker and level headed person when I should've just lost my sh@! like they did. Quin told me they didn't need my money. And Maddie was bold enough to admit she called me a bitch while I was recording. I have it all on video.
