This staff at this location has been excellent during every interaction we've had with them. We went in for pre-approvals for car purchases last summer and we got decent, but not GREAT rates. The dealer ended up giving us better deals than what we had gotten through our pre-approval. We went back to Fairwinds with our loans and they matched everything, gave us cash back and deferred our payments for three months all for switching our loans over. We don't go into the branch all that often, but the staff there recognizes us and some of them know us by name. They're friendly and helpful but have never tried pushing products or services on us. The only complaint I've had is that they don't process transactions on Saturdays like the big banks do. This means that if a paycheck is direct deposited on a Saturday, it won't be available in my account until Monday (or whenever the next business day is if there is a federal holiday). This is not usually a big deal, but if you're tight on money for the weekend, it could be a headache at times. Despite that inconvenience, the service and attention we receive at Fairwinds has been excellent.

The building itself is really unique compared to your cookie cutter typical bank outparcel. It's tall and pitched, and stands out on Colonial Drive. In terms of tellers, they're always friendly. I have been in a few times for services relating to the purchase of a new home but I didn't go through Chase for my mortgage. (Always Check the rates. They were comparable to local lenders, but you may find online lenders with lower rates- I did.) I worked with a Private Client Banker, Cindy Wong, for those more substantial requests (wiring a large sum for the down payment, etc.). She was absolutely a joy to work with. Quick, interested in chatting (as I always am), and got the job done. I had to go back in two days later and she remembered me and recalled our conversation. This is the kind of "Cheers"-like service you don't expect at a bank. It was really nice to feel like I know a few people at my branch. Overall, good spot. May not be the lowest interest rates, but the service is too notch.

In need of…read morea new bank & looking for info mortgage services, I decided to go to this branch, check it out, and ask some questions. First, I love that they are open Saturdays, 9-1. Second, they require masks and distancing. Third, they are soo efficient and with efficiency sometimes the friendliness is missed but not here. We were greeted immediately by a host by the front. When we shared what we needed, she suggested we make an appointment because it would take a long time. (we walked in an hour before closing). She mentioned she only had to loan officers and an appointment would be best for better preparation. At that time one of the loan officers came over, and graciously answered some questions and then went even further as to walk us to her desk. She answered EVERY question, nicely, with details and educated us thoroughly. Theresa, was great, she directed us to the Navy Fed website, which has everything, calculators, different options, refinance vs heloc and the host even gave us a APR rate sheet. We were very impressed and do felt much more confident in selecting this bank for our needs.
