2020 Tucson 86k miles car has burnt valve according to the tech but corporate wants more proof to approve warranty claim. I have to pay $2200 to remove and possibly reinstall the intake head to better see damage. if covered no charge. I approved the removal May 19 as of June 18th they don't have a tech able to do the job. they told me they have 1 tech able to do it and have no ETA of when they may look at the car. never mind how long it'll take if it is covered. i took car back on June 18 and was told it'd be in same shape I brought it to them, running rough BUT running. got it back after 2 months and now it's dead won't start and was told sorry we don't know what happened. this dealer is completely inept and uncommunicative in every aspect. The car is great, but Curry will come up with some reason, however minor, on your credit report to raise the lease rent from the amount originally agreed to. They don't tell you of the increase until you show up to pick up the car. They must figure you're less likely to walk out and go to another dealer, than if they tell you earlier. I am writing to formally express my concern regarding the handling of my recent lease transition at your dealership. When I turned in my Jeep lease in order to enter into a new lease on a Hyundai Kona, I was clearly informed that Curry Hyundai would cover the remaining five payments on the Jeep and that the vehicle would be fully taken care of moving forward. At no point during this process was I informed of a $450.00 disposition fee for the Jeep lease return. I only became aware of this charge after the fact. Had this fee been disclosed to me upfront, I would have taken it into consideration before making my decision. Instead, I felt rushed and pressured into finalizing the deal, and important information that directly affected my financial responsibility was not communicated. I believe it is both reasonable and fair to expect full transparency during a lease transition. The omission of this information has caused unnecessary frustration and expense, and I feel that I was not given the opportunity to make a fully informed decision. In light of the circumstances, I am requesting that Curry Hyundai review this matter and take appropriate steps to resolve the issue--whether through reimbursement of the $450.00 disposition fee or another reasonable form of remedy. read more

Buckle up for this doozie: My husband's 4 year old Kona failed inspection because of a massive engine problem that resulted in Curry "working on it" from June 2024-January 2025. In that time, we had to literally go down to the dealership to speak with the General Manager of the entire place because the Service Manager Anthony wouldn't return any of our phone calls. The Gen. Manager swore up and down that he'd correct the lack of communication and even offered to pick up one our car payments as a sign of good faith. Never happened. We finally got my husband's car back ... this year ... without its inspection ... the reason we brought it to Curry in the first place. Inept. After I posted this review to Google - they called my husband - and had no idea about any of this ... they don't even think we spoke to the General Manager. This place is POORLY MANAGED and does not care about the customer. I'm a longtime resident whose mother bought every one of her cars from CURRY all the way back when they were GEIS. I believe in loyalty but unfortunately the General Manager and Service Manager don't understand the definition of good business or customer loyalty. Curry Hyundai botched my brake job and is not standing behind their work in a satisfactory manner. For your safety and peace of mind I do not recommend getting work done there. Details are below. I purchased my vehicle new from Curry Hyundai in 2020. Last week, I brought the car to the service center for front brake pad replacement. While I was there, they advised me that it would be best to replace the front rotors as well. I agreed to the work and paid for new front brake pads and rotors. During the drive home, I noticed that the front brakes squealed each time I stopped at a light. I was concerned, but continued driving for a few days, as new pads and rotors sometimes require a short break-in period. Unfortunately, the squealing persisted. I called Curry Hyundai and scheduled an appointment to address the issue. I assumed that two visits to the dealership should be enough to get a properly functioning set of brakes. I was incorrect. I visited Curry Hyundai today. They said that: 1) Yes, the brakes are squealing. 2) The brakes are squealing because they installed defective brake pads. 3) They are not able to fix the issue today because they do not have compatible brake pads in the shop (order time for new pads was quoted as a few days) 4) I should not drive on these defective pads too much longer because doing so will inflict damage on the new rotors. It seems that the brake pads were not properly inspected prior to installing them on my car and sending my car out of the shop. What if the defect was one that compromised safety? At this point, I have visited Curry Hyundai twice. I paid for new brakes and new rotors, and received one set of defective brake pads and one set of rotors that now has miles of damaging wear from the defective pads. Curry's suggestion is that I wait several days for the new pads to arrive, then return to the shop a third time for installation. All the while, I will be driving with defective pads, continuing to inflict damage on the new rotors. To avoid further damage to my rotors, I asked if I could buy pads from AutoZone today (the exact same model number used by Curry is available), bring them to Curry, and get them installed. They said no. To avoid further damage to my rotors, I asked if Curry would refund my brake pad money so that I could purchase the new brake pads and have a local mechanic install them today. They said no. I asked if Curry could order new rotors to have in stock in case my current ones are significantly damaged after driving around while waiting for the new pads to come in. They said no--if, upon the third visit to the shop the rotors were revealed to be more damaged, Curry would prefer that I either accept re-surfacing or return a fourth time after they had ordered the parts (at their discretion). I am not satisfied with Curry's position. I have paid for new brake pads and rotors. After visiting the shop three times, the best I will end up with is new brake pads and rotors with miles of damaging wear from the defective pads they put on initially. Even if I returned to the shop a fourth time there is no guarantee that I'd get the new, unworn, rotors I paid for. I came to Curry because I trusted its reputation and my previous interactions with them. After this interaction, my impression is that Curry does not do adequate safety or quality inspection of their repair work. Further, if Curry installs a defective part on your car and it damages other parts, you are out of luck. read more

I purchased a vehicle in October of 2021 and had a great experience. I wanted to trade in my car for a bigger SUV and wanted to go back to them! To say I was highly disappointed is an understatement. I called on a Monday asking to see if they had the vehicle I was interested in and the sales manager Lee informed me it was still available. We agreed to head in the next day to check out the car. We get there and Lee informs me the car was taken by his employee and he's gone for the day. Never knew employees could take cars home but okay! We test drove a similar one and put down $500 to "hold" the one that was w the employee. Lee informed us the suv would be in on Wednesday and we would get to check out car then. I get a call on Wednesday to tell me car is not there and won't be in until Thursday. We wasted our time with them on Tuesday and Wednesday waiting for this car to be brought back in. Lee informed us car would be there both days and it was NOT. We decided to go through a different hyundai dealership and had a much better experience. This is for Curry Hyundai in Cortlandt, NY (not sure why it says San Fran). This is my 2nd bad review for this place in 2 weeks. They performed a recall on my car last week for fuel hose and I also got an oil change. When I drove the car home afterwards, there was a significant rattle under the front of the car that was not there when I dropped it off. Besides that, the clock had been changed (wrong time), the radio settings were changed, and my lights were no longer on auto. Main complaint was the rattle. I called back to have rattle checked. They squeezed me in that day which was great. Left the car for an hour and when I picked it up they told me "yes there is a rattle". Duh!!! I was told it was $99 for them to diagnose the problem. NO THANKS! I drove the car to my local HONEST mechanic who just told me there were missing screws under the car (that Curry forgot to put back when they did the oil change.) I was charged $40 for my mechanic to fix it. NO MORE RATTLE!! Curry Hyundai service is awful and they are thieves. Will NEVER go back! Find an honest mechanic and save yourself the cost and aggravation of these jerks! read more

We have purchased about five different vehicles from Curry dealerships. They have always treated us fairly when purchasing a car, and their service departments have always taken good care of us and our vehicles. Now that we will be grandparents to two little boys, we decided it was time to trade in our Civic and buy a Hyundai Tucson to give us more needed room. Our first stop was a Curry dealership, of course. After initially meeting with a salesman at Curry Hyundai whose personality didn't match our's too well, the manager, Paul, sent us to Dante, who took quite good care of us.  He was very nice and patience, as well as attentive to our wants and needs.  We had mentioned that we were interested in purchasing a Tucson hybrid. By the time we arrived at the dealership, Dante had a 2022 Tucson Hybrid SEL with a Convenience Package ready for us to test drive. He also had the foresight to have a non-hybrid 2022 Tucson SEL with a Convenience Package ready for a test drive as well, so we could compare the two vehicles. We liked the hybrid version quite a lot, but didn't want the black Tucson with black interior that we test drive. So, Dante looked at Curry's inventory and found a 2022 Tucson hybrid with a pearl white exterior and black interior, and told us this model also came with gray interior, which they might be able to get for us. Dante and Paul worked with us to agree on a price we could afford, and they offered to give us a great price for our trade-in vehicle!! There was not a lot of the usual haggling; both Dante and Paul were kind, and fair through the whole process of discussing a price. We felt like they were working WITH us, not against us! Unfortunately, the pearl white exterior/black interior Tucson hybrid wasn't on the lot at that time, and since it was a Thursday night, Dante wasn't able to show us this particular vehicle then. However, we gave him a downpayment to hold the car until we could see it ourselves in person. The next day, since Dante hadn't called about the car being on their lot to see yet, we decided to keep the two appointments we had already previously arranged: one at a Toyota dealership to test drive a Hybrid RAV4, and one at a different Hyundai dealership [that our son & daughter-in-law had recommended] to test drive a 2021 Tucson Ultimate. After having thought a lot about buying a hybrid car, we realized that this would not be the best option for our lifestyle at this time, so we ended up purchasing a 2022 Tucson with the options and colors that we love! If you're looking for a new, used, or certified car, Curry Hyundai is a great dealership to check out!! Ask for Dante and you will be treated with patience, respect, and very fairly. And manager Paul will do what it takes to make a deal with you that you are happy with and can afford! read more

I have purchased both Subaru and Hyundai vehicles here in the past 6 years. The buying experience is somewhat typical, they believe in the old school going back and forth to the manager game.. but at the end you get a fair price and they will honor a verifiable competitive quote. The service department has never let me down, they treat you with the upmost courtesy, you almost feel you are in Mercedes dealership, minus the 3x higher prices. Right now, March 2020 you have to preplan a little more because both shops are super busy (or understaffed, who knows) but all work is done as promised, on time. I have been on a rollercoaster in the past 40 years with car shops, coming from worst (VW) to best (MB Manhattan) and Curry is second best. Why not best? MB always washed and detailed your car when they returned it. Yeah, they charged $199 for an oil change. read more

Long post, but worth the read, as things unfold. My good friend from grade school recommended this dealership, and Dante (salesman) in particular, when it came to purchasing a new Hyundai. Dante has "been there for years" and "really knows his stuff." Well one would think, but I'll tell you this, they've lost me as a customer (as well as many people I would've sent their way). I bought a 2020 Santa Fe Limited. Pricing was fair, but the real haggling takes place off the floor with the finance guy. I happened to have Klitos (I was familiar with him, as I dealt with him when I purchased my Subaru Outback back '15). First red flag - I get sent in to see Klitos BEFORE MY CAR HAS BEEN SENT DOWN FOR ME TO INSPECT. Second red flag - trying to sell me ridiculous and unnecessary add-ons by showing me new adjusted "monthly prices" (I know to take the increase in $ and multiply by the 60 mos to get bottom number). Dante had promised me all weather mats. This was something not in the vehicle on the day of sale. However, after showing me the ins and outs of the new car he says to me "I'll get those mats for you." Great. Sounds good. Fast forward 2 weeks. I have not heard from Dante at all, so I decide to text him asking the status of the mats. No response. Ok. I'll give him a few days. Send another text. Nothing. Hmmm ok now I'm feeling some sort of way, especially after dropping 43k on a car. The relationship with a customer shouldn't end after a sale...any idiot knows that. Never burn bridges. I follow up with another text AND AN EMAIL. Still nothing. I decide to call the dealership directly. What happens when Dante picks up his phone? He slams down the receiver and hangs up on me. Really great customer service skills for someone who's been working there for many years. I end up talking with the Assistant Manager Gwendolyn. She's receptive to what I have to say. By this point, this no longer has to do with mats that probably cost them pennies. This has to do with the way I'm being treated after a very expensive sale. She phones over to Paul, the manager. Paul calls me and says "great news, your mats are in, Dante got them for you." Oh really? That's funny, because I have yet to hear from him. This evening, 11/27/19, just after 5pm, I made the 1 hour + drive to Cortlandt Manor from NYC. Who do I run into but Dante. He obviously doesn't want to interact with me. But no...I want to know what the problem is that you can't send me a quick text. If you had just sent me a simple text, things would've panned out much differently, and you'd have a return customer, not to mention I'd drive up there to service the car. He says nothing and hands me the mats. Again, this no longer has to do with the mats, and everything to do with the way I have been treated after the sale. He finally says "you want to know why I haven't contacted you? I don't like the way you rated me when you did the Hyundai survey." *crickets* Ummmm, you're not serious, right? I don't remember what I put on the survey, but regardless, my responses have absolutely nothing to do with the mats I was promised. If you are going to be petty like that, it speaks volumes about the kind of person you really are. He left me with the manager and gave me a side grin as he walked away. Wow. Really professional. Grow up. If you ever decide to come to this establishment, you'll see Dante there in the front with his "friendly demeanor" being helpful. For all you Harry Potter fans, think Professor Quirrell. Lol. If I could give 0 stars I would. Not only will I never return to their Hyundai dealership, but I will be going elsewhere to purchase a new Subaru in the future. read more

Okayy so here I am 2 years later. A little update on the work they did... it actually took them well over a month to fix my car even though they originally told me less than 2 weeks. It took forever and they said a big reason for this was that they had ordered the wrong parts for the car. This really surprised me because it is a Hyundai dealership and I had a Hyundai... you would think they would know their cars well enough to order the parts for the correct car. But anyways... my car is now totaled 2 years later because the same ball joint had split perfectly in half and the axel was messed up. I was literally just turning in an intersection one day and it just snapped. I took my car to a different Hyundai dealership (up in OH where I go to school) and they, as well as my insurance claim guy, suspected that this incident was caused from these parts bot being fixed correctly from my previous accident. Unfortunately there is no way to prove this but the 3 guys at Hyundai who looked at the car, as well as the insurance guy who went out to evaluate the car, all said this was the main probable cause. So basically their negligence and crappy work ended up costing me my car :) read more

The only reason I gave Curry 1 Star is because there was no option for ZERO! I cannot believe these people are still in business. My daughter's friend wanted to sell her 2013 Hyundai Elantra. I'm embarrassed to say that I recommended Curry Hyundai. Her mom spoke to them on the telephone and told them she owed $12,000 on the car. They told her they could definitely get close to that number. She went in with the car and the guy offered her $11K for the car because "it had some scratches." There weren't any scratches on the car. It was in mint condition. I saw it! When she refused the offer, their representative got nasty with her - saying it was a "done deal" based on his conversation with her mother. WHAT? She was near tears. I sent her to Danbury Hyundai and they were incredible! SO honest, SO helpful, SUCH integrity. They gave her $12K for the car. Do yourself a favor...go there! I returned a lease to Curry Hyundai and was treated horribly by the staff while at the dealership. While waiting for the sales rep. to provide my paperwork so I could leave I watched as the papers sat and he moved cars in and out of the show room. When I asked if the process could be expedited the keys were shoved in my direction and I was told "you can take it to another dealership". The previous day I waited 4.5 hours for their inspector to go over the car before returning it. With the additional hour that I had waited at the dealership it was basically 1 business day wasted. Finally I left, not knowing I had to take the license plates with me as it was a company car. I returned home and sent an email to Customer Service complaining about the way I was treated. An hour later I got a call from the sales rep., on my home phone, I answered on speaker phone. I immediately was cursed at and threatened with" losing my driver's license" and some sort of "daily charges" from the dealership. In addition I was told "don't email here, if you have a problem come and see me face to face." Their conduct was the worst case of unprofessionalism I have ever witnessed in my lifetime and bordered on criminal. I could have filed a harassment complaint. Apparently if you are not buying/leasing/servicing a vehicle there, you are a hindrance. I have to pick out another leaser now and was going to consider Curry since I was there, however after this experience it is completely out of the question. There are many other dealerships around. Do yourself a favor and avoid this one at all costs! read more

After a diagnostic exam of the car, they told me it was an easy fix but called me back 2 hours later to tell me they were wrong and it was going to be 3 times the cost originally agreed to. like a fool, I asked them to proceed. I was then told it was going to be 4 weeks before I got the car back even though it was an inconvenience I agreed. when I went to pick up the car my windshield was shattered and the fool at the service desk told me "oh we thought you knew, it was like that". So someone at the dealer broke my windshield and the incompetent person I was dealing with could only stare at it and say oh I'm sorry but there's not much we can do. This place is terrible and my car still runs like shit after spending $1800.00. read more

Dishonest and unprofessional. While my car was being "serviced" there 2 weeks ago we called at 9 am (a good 3 or 4 days after they received the vehicle) to see when it may be ready and why there was an engine problem. The service department told us the car was going through its final checklists right now and will be ready very soon. They would call as soon as it's ready. I called six hours later and they told me the exact same thing word for word. No one ever explained what was wrong with the car, only that it was in working condition now and ready to be picked up when I called another 2 hours after that. In fact, no one ever contacted me at all. Since then, the fuel meter gauge hasn't worked. Shady and sketchy! Kinda wish they did the right thing as I was hoping to stick with them for my next car but I don't think anyone there knows what is going on. read more

In the past, I bought a Genesis G80 from Curry Hyundai, leased vehicles from from Curry Honda and also had my MIL buy 2 Hondas from them. All service such as oil changes and tires I went to them. Went in this week to trade in my Genesis and buy a Palisade. They tried to nickel and dime me on the Genesis and low balled me there and charge me over sticker for the Palisade. Went to Rockland Hyundai and another place and both offered me 2k more for the Genesis where Hyundai insisted that "maybe they can help me out" and offer $500 more but that they would be losing money. Understand, if i never used them before and treated this way. Anyway lost me and my family for good. Go to Rockland Hyundai straight shooters there. read more
