For me it's the organic free range eggs that appeal and some hearty herbs. You'll also be shopping in the knowledge that not only are they providers of organic produce but they also pride themselves on their fine animal welfare certificates for looking after all their animals. A former vegetarian myself, I understand the convenience of having somewhere like Out Of This World to rely on in a city centre. It means being able to purchase items which are sometimes not even stocked in the larger supermarkets, to maintain a balanced diet without being forced to use unwanted substitutions. Too well stocked to be a health food shop, Out Of This World falls into the category of health food supermarket. There is a huge range of the usual nuts, seeds and pulses; but also a surprising number of Traidcraft toiletries, recycled stationary, hair dye and household cleaning products. Alongside fairly traded tea and coffee, vitamins, supplements and natural remedies, the store also caters for sufferers of restrictive diets. There is a varied selection of groceries for people who have to omit gluten, wheat and diary from their nutritional intake, and a large number of vegetarian and vegan ready meals. One reason why I particularly like Out Of This World, is because they stock Samuel Smith ale and lager. A real favourite with my Other Half and I, they provide us with a constant hoard. Bondgate Bakery in Otley supply the store with freshly baked loaves and buns, with gluten and wheat free alternatives available. A deli counter offers freshly made quiches, samosas and wraps - a handy lunch or a lazy supper. The staff are very approachable and were more than happy to assist me in finding a difficult item for a family member. What I mean by that, is my Gran was looking for bee pollen, because the lothario that she listens to on her local radio station had been praising its medical benefits. I used to come here on Saturdays to purchase their organic milk and elderflower cordial for the bar that I worked at on Call Lane. It was always handy to stock up in case anyone wanted a White Russian, but really it was mostly to supply my need for coffee. Also, there is nothing quite as refreshing as elderflower cordial and lemonade. Seriously, it used to be my favourite drink. I love the smell when you walk in to this shop. It's not exclusive, it's that same smell most organic shops have, but it is lovely. The smell of good. Only goodness. Nothing in here can really be bad for you. At least, that's what we can believe until we learn otherwise! Within you will find, as well as hoards of organic foods, all sorts of enviro-friendly cosmetics, cleaning products (for you and your clothes) and much more. You are required to use the NHS app to check-in to ensure that contact tracing can occur should a visitor later test positive. We were asked to wait at the benches facing the field with menus in hand. The cows and pasture is gorgeous. The weather is fine as long as the sun pokes out. Nevertheless we waited for a while as this is Spring break and many families are out here enjoying the views. We noticed that groups that came after us had been called and that the hostess who took down our information had gone on break. Sure enough, there was no record of us on the list after I inquired. The staff apologized for the poor communication among their colleagues and made sure to seat us at the next available. The server again apologized and took our order right away, including our dessert which was placed on hold until we were ready. The tables are cleaned immediately after guests leave. There are heaters placed strategically around the dining area however only the center one is lit. Thankfully we lucked out and sat by the heat lamp that was lit. The food came out reasonably fast. We could hear the cook shouting orders at the staff and it seemed like a well run cafe minus the hostess snafu. Our food was fresh and good tasting. The dessert was also fresh and delicious. Overall this place did well considering the disorganized start. It was true to the quality we have become accustomed to when visiting here.

So, when I heard about Steenbergs Organic, it was pretty much a given that I'd love this little online shop. Steenbergs have a great reputation. They're recommended by Yotam Ottolenghi in his new cookbook, Plenty, as being the best place to turn to for all of those interesting bits and pieces you don't tend to find in your local supermarket. And after taking a quick look at their website, you'll soon see why. Pretty much every ingredient you could ever wish to cook with is for sale here, from gluten free baking powder to lavender sugar to harissa. They also do a great range of various different spice mixes too, and I can't wait to try out their Lebkuchen blend for myself when I'm baking this Christmas. Whilst their ingredients may at first seem to be a little pricey, it's well worth it. These are not your average every day spices, and a little really does go a long way. Plus, they come in pretty large quantities, so they should last you a fairly long time if you don't hammer them. Their postage and packing costs aren't too expensive (around £4 for first class delivery), but it will add up if you only buy them one at a time - so it's best to stock up and buy a load in bulk. went here last night after visiting times at hospital as it was just across the road, im surprised…read morenot more inmates (of the hospital) dont go there because of the food thats on offer at the hospital... on a monday and a tuesday there is an offer of 5 courses for £7.95, i dont know how they work out the courses but the food was exceptional, not a lot of choice from the set menu though.... so with 2 bottles of shiraz later and a big doggy bag to bring home came to under £40 for the two of us and me with my dinner the next day, the restaraunt itself had a complete make over about 31/2 yrs ago and looks really nice and a good size tables and chairs where comfortable, unfortunatly we were the only ones there, but the owners and staff where very polite and attentative, the young proprietors son, was very helpful in letting us know what we was eating and helpful in making my choice on what to eat as i dont do very hot food..... the toilet facilities was very clean, but very small its a good job i was the only woman in , cos i pee'd with the door open lol, as would feel very claustraphobic. they even ordered a taxi for us, and we made sure we got a take out menu as im sure we will go again xmx
