My daughter referred me and took me to Dr. Burke in Camp Hill. The man took x-rays check my leg and knee asked me if I was ready for surgery. I said yes. I was scheduled for knee replacement surgery. Three weeks later. What a blessing and I have no problems whatsoever with my knee. Two weeks ago, Dr. Beurk performed a rotator cuff reversal on my left arm. What a difference already. Dr. Beurk and his staff give excellent care, compassionate to needs and waste no time providing excellent services to give patients relief. I'm done with Geisinger Orthopedics. I will continue to go here orthopedics.

I would have thought a follow up appointment and my first full screening would have been scheduled asap after the surgery but they didn't seem to think it was necessary. Months later and with no further reminders or outreach, I had an appointment with a nurse practitioner who was okay, but after another appointment the following year with zero reminders I decided to look around for another practice. I'd also say their patient portal isn't the greatest. Coworkers were going to Dermatology Associates of York and liked it, so I was able to schedule an appointment at their Mechanicsburg office with an actual MD dermatologist and have been going there for the past couple years. That's where you want to go if you need serious dermatology care, they're great, great patient outreach and response, great patient portal. I realized I hadn't had a complete skin cancer screening before I went there. Oh, and I one point I actually tried to schedule an appointment with the family practice that's connected to the Penn State specialties office, but similar issues, they didn't have any actual doctors who could see me for months, just physician assistants or NPs- I'm sorry if this sounds "elitist" but I'm over 50 years old and now with a history of cancer so I wanna see a real doctor, not an almost doctor who has to have their work checked and approved by real doctors. I'm now a patient at the Pinnacle/UPMC family practice in Camp Hill. I'd recommend them too.

He has not been seen for back problems since 2015. I usually have to speak for him and fill in the gaps when he is not able to. Dr. Jeffrey Finn was the tending physician. He popped in, asked a few questions, had him walk a few steps, wiggle his toes and then he announces he can't help my father. He did say to my father, you don't want to be here, do you? He gets up states he can't help him. I asked why? He said he will refer him if I need him to. He walks away. He did not attempt to pull me aside and explain why or further elaborate if there were mitigating circumstances forcing his decision? I just couldn't believe his rudeness. No compassion. I am sitting there stunned. We went there because my father was having back pain and was looking for relief. He completely dismissed us. Who does that? To say I was upset was an understatement. The nurse there was great. I will not recommend this facility or this Dr. Finn. I think he is in the wrong line of work.

The atmosphere is friendly, flexible schedule, Laura at the front desk is kind , friendly and compassionate. My PT Jeff is old school but one of the best PTs in my opinion he worked with in figuring out how to realign my spine, explaining to me that my core strength was the biggest issue and no medicine or surgery would help if my core is not strong. He worked with me knowing my high copay and once a week sessions was what I could only afford. He motivated me in doing my exercises daily and I stuck with it because from day one I was starting to have some relief from pain and am happy to say that yes my back is sore at times but it's not everyday. Truly a good experience and if I ever need PT again I wouldn't be going anywhere else.

Even while she emphasized that I would not get the results I wanted if I did not do my exercises. This is what I tell my friends: If you ever need physical therapy DO the exercises. They work! My time at therapy was a great learning experience. The atmosphere was comfortable and professional. I learned quite a bit about how my body is meant to function physically. Observing other therapists added to my experience. They cared for and interacted well with patients. Thank you, Madden & Gilbert for helping me in my time in need. My life is easier now. I continue doing exercises in times of discomfort and I will continue exercising to develop strength. Pardon my French... getting old is a bitch. :-(
