Absolutely horrendous! They made us jump through hoop after hoop, send and resend pictures, cut cords, peel off stickers, scratch claim numbers into the device and the list goes on. Now the check they are sending will take 4-6 weeks to process. That's after the 30 days it took for them to even approve our claim. All for $149 water cooler. I have been dealing with this company for over a month now. Bought a Frigidaire countertop icemaker from Walmart and it quit working within seven months. I filed the claim after making a phone call and followed their directions. After numerous emails back-and-forth and me providing all the documented evidence of the faulty icemaker, Curtis International wants me to ship it back at MY expense! This unit weighs 21.4 pounds which would be somewhere between $20 and $30 to ship. It's ridiculous! Their customer service is horrible! read more

Wow, just wow. Curtis International was used as the 3rd party warranty company for my Frigidaire MiniFridge that I purchased through Amazon. No one that you will speak to is a native English speaker and they barely understand the simplest of questions. Absolutely the worst company to deal with. DO NOT BUY ANY PRODUCTS THAT ARE PRODUCED BY THIS COMPANY! (Frigidaire uses them for their smaller appliances!) Back story - I recieved a baby pink frigidaire stand mixer for my birthday, to match my kitchen ware and baking supplies, was the only reason this unit was purchased. Upon using it, it had a glitch that it took me tapping it to make it actually start. I was within the warranty period so I reached out to Frigidaire who informed me to contact Curtis International as they were the ones who technically produced the unit and would need to handle the claim. I called in and the rep said they would create a ticket and everything would be handled by email. I was given a claim number and advised to do a "field destroy" and send pics of everything properly completed. I followed the instructions and was advised a cheque or replacement unit would be sent in 4 - 6 weeks. I sent a response back requesting that if the proper color could not be sent to please send the cheque as it was the only reason the unit was purchased. Fast forward to 2- 3 weeks later, a black unit is delivered. I call in and am advised that they don't deal with concerns on the phone and to bring up my concerns via the original email. I respond via the email and am told they are following "warranty policies". When i point out that a cheque was obviously part of their "warranty policies" as it was mentioned on every email as a possibility, I was ignored and basically got the same responses and dodges. I requested to speak to a manager and a return label for the wrong unit and was ignored again and basically told they were closing the ticket and they reserved the right to do w.e they wanted with regards to the warranty. I have requested again to speak to some sort of upper management and have even provided a number to be contacted. Horrible horrible customer service read more

What a deplorable company, a disgrace to Canadian society to say the least! I wish I could give them less than 1 star. I don't know how they look at themselves in the mirror, how they sleep at night and how they live with themselves! I had an ice maker that broke down within the year of the manufacturer's warranty, fair enough, it happens, I know as I work in the manufacturing sector with about 800 people. The Frigidaire Ice Maker User Manual clearly states that "to make a warranty claim, do not return this product to the store. Please email support at curtiscs.com or call their number." What a waste of time and resources that was, a complete joke! I bought this ice maker off of Amazon, April 2021, during some difficult times with COVID-19 lockdowns and such. I submitted my invoices, pictures of the ice maker and of the malfunction as it was only making 3 ice cubes at a time instead of 9. Apparently since I bought the unit on line, the warranty is void! And I quote "Upon reviewing your case, it confirms that the unit was not purchased from any of our authorized distributor hence no warranty support can be provided." Who thinks to ask a company that sells products online if they are an authorized dealer of Curtis International? Quite comical actually, imagine if the auto manufacturers did business like this? My heart goes out to anybody that have dealt with or that will deal with this company! How are they still in business? Don't they have a conscience? They need to sit down, have a meeting and review their business ethics with the whole support team and come up with a better game plan. This is not how Canadians conduct business and you should all be ashamed of yourselves! The company on Amazon that I bought the unit from were a breath of fresh air, a REAL Canadian company that look after their customers. TLDR do not buy anything from Curtis International or any of the brands they are currently misrepresenting: Curtis Sylvania RCA Proscan Frigidaire Thomson Hamilton Beach If you do and have to deal with their atrocious lack of customer support their insultingly awful service will make you regret having made the purchase in the first place. My experience, having been sold 2 defective products, has been frustrating and their alleged warranty support has been totally useless in resolving my issue. I have dealt with technical support agents who are not familiar with either the product or how they can be troubleshot. I have been lied to several times by customer service persons who promised me callbacks for managers who never called me. I do not fault the frontline staff: with over 25 years of client support and over 20 years as a technical support analyst I know that management regularly impairs support's ability to help their customers. This is certainly the case with Curtis International. The brands they have licensed once had excellent reputations attached to them for quality products, backed up by exemplary warranty support. Four weeks,the door latch broke and the door would not close. I contacted them and asked them if I could buy the part(unable to find the receipt for warranty). I was asked to fill out a form and send pictures of the part I needed. A week went by and no response.Once I did get a hold of someone, they wanted me to send them the info and pictures again. I then spent the next two weeks calling them every morning. They said that the only way to contact the parts department was by email. It arrived missing a tiny rubber foot on the bottom left side which caused the 'fridge to wobble every time you opened and closed it (cans of soda would tumble out). I contacted Curtis, Inc and they gave me the run-around for three months and refused to send me the $4.99 part I needed. They demanded pictures (which I sent) and even tried to tell me that the model I ordered didn't come with knobs on the bottom. The first service rep handed me off to another, then another, then another rep, which entailed my having to re-explain my situation each time - which they never resolved. I suddenly received an email from Curtis, Inc. saying my "case has been closed due to an absence of a reply." I had replied to them the previous day. Unbelievable! Fed up, I ordered the missing part from a reputable parts dealer who was fantastic and shipped the part within 72 hours. It got to the point, they wanted me to send them a video of a dead ice maker. This has been going on for close to 2 weeks. they finally emailed me and wants me to send the ice maker to a warehouse in California to make the determination if they will send me a new one or credit me. My 7 month old 65" RCA TV has not worked since Oct. 20... I have been fighting ever since for a full refund or a repair... This unit cost me $933.38 and I am a senior living on a CPP Disability. They obviously do not care and today is Nov 08 and this TV is sitting in my dining room blocking my table. They have received all the information they required of me .... yet no answer. I'm surprised there's even an option to leave one star... If I could leave zero stars, that would be a better option... Bought a freezer from BJs and got it home to find out that it was damaged... It was leaking, had some very faint dents on the front and had a dent on the bottom left side. Also, freezing is frosting a lot in the inside...when I called Frigidaire they referred me to Curtis International because they bought the rights to manufacture and service their appliances. They told me to answer my email and submit photos/videos of the item and now they are telling me it seems like shipping issue and that is not included in the warranty!!! Un-F***ing believable!!! It was on clearance and with tax and everything got it for $184 and change and now I'm looking online for the same one and cheapest is $330 plus tax which will be close to $400... Not only that, but I spoke to someone that said that they would escalate the issue and get an answer from a higher team and clearly she did not know what the hell she was doing because she gave me the wrong information and was probably just telling me that she was going to escalate case just to make me happy but not really do anything for me in the end. They didn't even have someone come out to look at to see if there was a way to fix it instead of returning it. I have purchased a 55" RCA Roku tv several months ago and opened it straight out of the box and hooked it up to my cable tv. I then noticed there were blacks patches at the top of the screen when turned on. I contacted their customer service department which is Curtis International to put in my warranty claim and they asked to take pictures of the issue and the bill of sales. That I did and after roughly a week, was told to bring it to one of their authorized repair centers. I was then told a few hours later after it was brought over to one of their centers to get it 'fixed' that it was something lodged between the screen and the tv and it was not part of the fault of the manufacture. I can generally fix stuff like internet problems etc etc. I spent 3 hrs online reading, watching videos, etc on how to fix this very issue with Roku tvs. None of it worked so I broke down and called. Horrible company to try and get warranty through. I bought a $1000 QLED TV which the screen started to have lines through it only 6 months after buying it. It took me 5 days just to start the warranty claim. Now I have to wait 10 business days for them to process the application. Then once the decide if it is under warranty, I have to wait another 10 business days for them to decide if they want to replace it or repair it. If they want to repair it, I have to take it to the repair shop and wait more days for it to be repaired. For spending so much on a tv and being without it for a month for them to decide if they want to warranty it or not is ridiculous! I will never buy anything from them again. read more
