I continued communicating with Mike's Mobile over Yelp messaging to schedule an appointment for them to clean and inspect my fireplace. I receive lots of reminder emails and text messages about my appointment. I appreciate these types of notifications as it makes it very easy to keep up to date with when they would arrive. Bryan arrived on time for my scheduled appointment. He was very friendly and explained the whole process of cleaning and expecting my fireplace. He took lots of pictures during the inspection so I could see how my fireplace is doing on the inside and outside. The entire cleaning and inspection took about an hour. We spent about 20 minutes reviewing the images, discussing what should be fixed (my fireplace is very old), and going over the quote for future work. I'm new to the maintenance and care of this stove and did not realize it needed to be cleaned. A few days prior smoke came pouring out of my stove rendering it unusable and me without any heat. I called today and they expedited my service to same day support! Other agencies didn't have appointments until two weeks later and were pricier (~$200)! Curtis provided services at a more reasonable price than other quotes I received despite coming the same day!! So this year we had them back and yep, still on point (clean, prompt, returned every call) and since this was during Covid-19 explained what I should expect and how to protect both the tech and my family. They found we needed some basic repairs which the tech explained to me along with showing me pictures of what needed to be done. We had them back out to do the repairs after we had the house painted. The tech was awesome - he asked for any trim paint just in case he dinged anything. I can't recommend them enough!

By 10:10 AM, I had to leave for my doctors appt. I called and was told there was traffic and they would be there soon. When I heard the doorbell ring at 10:22 am, I expected to see someone in a uniform or with the logo on their shirt. Instead there was a young man dressed in designer jeans, fancy button down, and loafers. He said he was here to clean my dryer vent. I told him that I had to take off immediately, and showed him my dryer (on my back porch) and where the vent led to. Then I locked the house and left. No one called, emailed, or texted to say they were done, but at 10:37 AM I received an invoice via text. Given that the young man was late and then only stayed 15 minutes was not very reassuring. When I got home the back porch was covered in dryer lint. The inside of my dryer and especially the dryer door was also covered in loose lint. The backyard under the dryer vent had quite a bit of lint as well. Flash forward to 9/29, I realize that the dryer is still drying slow and call another dryer duct cleaning company. They found a ton of lint in my vent and said it looked like the Cal Duct guy just used a light leaf blower to try to clean it out. The other company was even cheaper too! Super disappointed in the lack of communication when they were running late, the short amount of time spent at my house, and the poor quality job. Would definitely not use again!
