Cute little ice cream place right on Rt 50. Plenty of outdoor seating, some with umbrellas. They have a lot of hand dipped flavors, even offer Dole Whip. Soft serve is good, thick, not icy or watery. People who work inside are nice, patient, and run things efficiently. We waited only a couple minutes for three items, including a shake. 1 kiddie soft serve with sprinkles, 1 small soft serve with sprinkles, and 1 shake was $18, similar prices as I've found on the barrier islands. read more

Got home from a late family dinner a few weeks ago and my niece wanted ice cream so I looked up a couple places and found that this conveniently was open much later than most places! Delicious ice cream! The perfect way to end a fun day at the shore is with a custard from Custard Hut. I had a Vanilla Chilly with peanut butter cups. It was amazing! There is plenty of parking and a nice picnic area off to the side to sit and enjoy your treats. The staff is friendly and fast as well. read more

These custard places dot the Jersey area and are all very similar .....hubby is an ice cream connoisseur and usually gets a vanilla cone with chocolate jimmies - I usually get a Carmel pretzel ice cream cup - both were good ! read more

ok. i've been going to custard hut for as long as i can remember. i started as a kid going to the somers point location, and then several years ago i moved to upper township, so i frequented that one. it has been my go-to place for soft serve. a few years ago i noticed changes that have progressively grown legs to the point where i've taken my business elsewhere. first things first, the prices. they are absolutely outrageous now. i don't care about overhead or supplies, whatever; they are making money hand over fist, have been doing so for years, and now are gouging. it's painfully obvious. greed is not a good look! the second issue when compounded with the first is the clincher: they are incredibly inconsistent with their servings. one day, a large is huge. the next, it's about the size of your average medium. i've even gotten a large, and my wife a small, and they've been about the same size! sometimes they will do a large with sprinkles or coating, but other times "they can't". i understand it is a skill issue, but that isn't my fault. it's theirs. so anyway, i now go to DQ in somers point or custard castle in marmora. either is a solid choice for great ice cream and VALUE! read more

I love this place. I almost always get soft vanilla ice cream with rainbow sprinkles in a cone - my absolute favorite. They have the best "custard" ice cream around. I used to go here when I was little if my team won our softball games and I still love it. It's so cute to go in the spring and see the softball/baseball players who go there after their games. ahh. memories. :) read more

Great spot away from the expensive places in OC. There's always a long line in the summer but it moves quick. They have a ton of different ice cream ,water ices and other stuff. Service is always freindly. We go every weekend. Could add a few more benches for when it's crowded. read more

prices were average to high, but the owner is very personable and made it an enjoyable experience. He even offered to get my son sprinkles in a cup after we were already seated enjoying the ice cream. Portions were not huge, but I prefer that anyhow. We will go again. read more
